The "isn't cEDH" in the other thread was more geared toward the fact that, as I understand it, cEDH Tayam is an Abzan Stax deck that runs JUST the devoted druid combo. I enjoy the caller/spiritkeeper/recursion combos as well.

What is the difference between the cards you suggested and Gift of Granite for the additional piece in the Devoted Druid combo? Is it just for redundancy? I'm not opposed to adding or changing cards to make the deck better, I'm just trying to understand why them and not Web, Carapace, Holy Armor, Street Savvy, Allosaurus Shepherd, or Hashep Oasis since those are the ones I see more often.

I always forget about cards when I try to answer these questions, but I’ll try again ;p One of the first cards I ever played was Order of Leitbur so maybe I’ll pick that one. Paired maybe with Holy Strength or Holy Armor with the old art (like Melissa Benson’s). Back from the days of painted art and first-strike-dominance. Weird.

First: you want more 4-ofs.

Second: Crusader of Odric, Angel's Feather, Safe Passage, Holy Armor, and Fencing Ace are going to slow you down. You can drastically speed up your deck by cutting some of these and swapping out for Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Boros Elite, and Champion of the Parish (most of your guys are humans except for the 1 or 2 kithkin).
