Dead-Iron Sledge Discussion

"Good" colorless ramp is one of the hardest things to find. Especially if you're trying to keep it Modern legal. There is a reason cards like Sol Ring are Banned or on the Restricted list, even for the formats it would otherwise be legal to play in. There is also a reason Tron decks often find one or two colors to use in their deck, too. And I think you can see why.
Also, not to be a stickler, but.. "using Darksteel Myr to block with a Dead-Iron Sledge" wouldn't happen by Turn 3, at best it would happen by Turn 4. And most Modern decks will have you dead.. or NEARLY dead by turn 4.

@wonderboyrox you bring up some valid points. In my testing the deck has stalled out because of not enough mana. It's one of the reasons I put so much draw in here. Once I get to 3 mana I can use Darksteel Myr to block with a Dead-Iron Sledge. Just having that equipped usually buys me a turn or two. And if I manage to get a Nemesis Mask on him as well that usually buys me enough time to get at least the 5 mana up and running to run the deck.
I do agree that I need some mana ramp or some more effective ways of defending myself earlier; but I would still like to stay colorless for this. I've been considering adding Darksteel Ingot for some more mana, and as another source of mana that survives a Worldslayer. It would open me up to not having to be set up perfectly to use Worldslayer. Do you have any suggestions to help ramp up or defend that are colorless?

@Saint1129 The main focus of the deck is to get a Darksteel Axe and a Worldslayer on either a Stuffy Doll or Darksteel Myr. There are various ways for each to get through and trigger Worldslayer leaving only my indestructible creatures, indestructible lands, and indestructible weapons on the battlefield.
Ghirapur Orrery lets me draw more cards when my hand is empty. Since the Tron Lands produce so much mana I'm often without cards in my hand.
Sword of War and Peace is there to offer protection from red and white because they are most likely to have exile in them.
I'm in the process of making a description just haven't got around to finishing it off yet. Did that help explain it a little better?

@chickenekcihc Those are both awesome cards. I don't want to add Ugin, the Spirit Dragon or Karn Liberated because I like to create my own decks and brews. I feel like adding either of them into them mix would taint this brew. As for Sword of Feast and Famine it is a very good card, but it also seems like a "win more" card. With the urza lands out I can easily play my entire hand in a single turn if needed, no need to untap my lands. If I were to add a sword from that cycle into this deck it would be Sword of War and Peace because it offers protection from the most common sources of exile; and it does a little bit more damage and gains me some life. I did have some of the Sword of War and Peace in here in the last iteration of this deck but removed it in favor of more Dead-Iron Sledge and Nemesis Mask. Its just too funny to attack with a 0/1 Darksteel Myr with a Dead-Iron Sledge and Nemesis Mask equipped. I enjoy playing magic for fun, not necessarily to win, although winning is always fun!

Executioner's Capsule would be nice to be able to return, but I just can’t get past that “nonblack” condition.
Sylvok Replica feels like a distraction, but I’ll think about it.
Mindslaver tooooo expensive.
Nemesis Mask This one I’ll really consider. The permenance is really nice, however, the draw back is that it’s much slower to use. Definitely will think about it though.
The last two, I’m not really looking for board wipes. I’m looking for ways to take advantage of Deathtouch. Those sort of have a Deathtouchy thing going on, but the trade offs are probably too much. Dead-Iron Sledge will kill whatever it’s attached to, and Engulfing Slagwurm is just too much mana.

I did a brief read-through of your deck description and objectives. I wasn't familiar with the term "Aikido" until after I read it here. I run a full-focused combo deck and the term Aikido seems at odd ends with Combo since stopping the combo will mean disrupting your opponent's board-state.
There isn't any card that just turns off combo since combo strategies could rely on graveyard or storm or infinite token loops or infinite mana use. An excellent card you might want to consider that can help fall in line with Aikido would be Damping Sphere which hits hard against decks that try to storm out for the win. A good way to deal with graveyard-based combos could be Mimic Vat which not only can serve as a good deterrent, but it's triggered ability can stop a graveyard loop when in a pinch. Lastly if someone aims a lethal spell at you that deals infinite damage or infinite loss of life or forces you to draw infinite cards I've found that cards like Fork and Reverberate are excellent ways of turning those spells against their caster and not only that, but if they die to your copy that effectively exiles their original spell before it ever resolves saving you in the process. Fork and Reverberate are also good at giving your Price of Progress or Backlash more of an edge and can stop counter spells as well.
If you mind can you tell me what combos you're up against? I might be able to come up with a suggestion better suited to your meta. Also I noticed you have Vampire Nighthawk listed as a win condition which I found a bit amusing and out of place. Could you tell me what significance it holds in your deck? If you're looking for an effective aerial blocker I think Mischievous Poltergeist does the trick trading lethality for durability. Also if you have any issues with creatures trampling you to death you might want to consider Dead-Iron Sledge which practically works like super deathtouch killing the creature before combat damage.

Cranial Plating , Fireshrieker , Dead-Iron Sledge , Loxodon Warhammer , Vorrac Battlehorns are all excellent artifacts to really do some damage. I may have a few dead-iron sledges laying around if you would like them.

You're not utilizing Glissa, the Traitor's full potential. Consider replacing Murder with Executioner's Capsule and also add Sylvok Replica. Whenever a creature dies you can return an artifact, and this gives you a suite of removal for many different types of permanents. Mindslaver if budget allows.
Also, replace Lure with Nemesis Mask for the same effect, which is reusuable after the creature dies, but that only applies to the amount of combat damage you are able to apply at any given time. If you're looking for board wipe efficiency, consider Engulfing Slagwurm and Dead-Iron Sledge. Remember, they don't say combat damage... just "blocking or blocked".
