Yeah, brisela is one big baddie and pulling it off in commander is funny.

Let me walk you through a play by play with the Desolation Giant . So say on turn 4 I cast Zedruu the Greathearted . On turn 5 I use Stifle as I play the Desolation Giant to counter his enter the battlefield trigger. On turn 6 I enchant the Desolation Giant with the False Demise and use 3 mana with zedruu to give it to my opponent. You’re right about the kicker being a cast trigger but that’s the beauty of it, because when the giant dies the next time I use it to block (or if I’m lucky enough to have my Despotic Scepter ), it will come back into play under my opponents control and they can’t pay a kicker cost so the Desolation Giant will blow up all of their creatures while mine are fine.

The idea seems very fun, but with no tutor's pretty inconsistent. Since you are not in green I would suggest running an artifact tutor package to get Torpor Orb . Besides being easier to fetch, being an artifact makes it a lot easier to stick on the board through the many creature board wipes in multiplayer edh. I'm a big fan of Whir of Invention myself, and Fabricate is great too. Although a little more pricey, Gamble is totally worth it too, it even synergizes well with all the draw form. Other options include Hoarding Dragon if you wanna go cheap, or Enlightened Tutor if you want to go expensive. Running artifact tutoring means more Despotic Scepter and hate pieces like Pithing Needle (another favorite of mine, it is SO much better than I first thought)

There are a couple of cards in the deck I don't like as much, mainly because they don't work well with Torpor Orb in play: Akroan Horse , Bruna, the Fading Light and Desolation Giant . Remember that the tokens given to your opponents are not owned by you:

From the Comprehensive Rules (Dominaria (April 27, 2018)) 110.5a A token is both owned and controlled by the player under whose control it entered the battlefield.

Desolation Giant is bad with Torpor Orb as well as without it compared to a card like Phyrexian Rebirth . If you really want the Brisela, Voice of Nightmares , and don't care that you have little to no tutors and a deck that really tries hard to stop the reanimation trigger, I won't be one to stop you, Brizzy is pretty dope ;)

Cool that you are having success with such a wild build though! Hf my guy

You probably don't need so many wincons in your deck it is probably better to put in other artifacts like Pentad Prism Basalt Monolith Ancestral Statue Mycosynth Wellspring Quicksmith Genius Despotic Scepter Windfall Wheel of Fortune Winds of Change Simian Spirit Guide

you should also take out your Metalworker Solemn Simulacrum

You might have to put in something like Lightning Greaves just seeing as playing your commander means you win...

I am not sure if you should... but I think Paradox Engine still fits and is preferable over a Solemn Simulacrum

You might even be in the position to actually lower land count but it is up to you. I was also planning to basically make the same exact deck.

shub Both are great suggestions! Thanks. These explanations are not meant to prove you wrong; but rather they are my personal reasons of why these cards didn't make the cut.

Goblin Bombardment (GB) seems like a great card on paper for this deck and I have always been on the fence about it. I've tried it several times in the past in this list, but nine times out of ten at 2 CMC it just ended up being a mediocre version of Impact Tremors/Throne of the God-Pharaoh, or a mediocre Lightning Greaves/Swiftfoot Boots. I found that if I wanted to use GB for damage, Tremors/Throne/Purphoros, God of the Forge deal and spread more damage as they hit each opponent evenly. And by giving LG hexproof or shroud I avoid having to recast him. 6 mana is a major setback and I try to avoid paying it at all costs. I do run High Market and Despotic Scepter as incidental sac outlets, but I'd rather protect LG with countermagic and equipment if possible.

Ashnod's Altar is an intentional omission as it combos infinitely with Skullclamp and that's not what I'm trying to do here. The fact that it is a mana-making sac outlet it great, but in the end I just don't need it. Clamp is crazy enough as is haha!

The artifact lands serve two minor purposes without taking up extra card slots. First of all, they help reach metalcraft for Stoic Rebuttal to turn it into another Counterspell. Second, they turn Trinket Mage into a Borderland Ranger if needed. So far I haven't had artifact removal ever hurt me because of the artifact lands. I do my best to keep up countermagic for things like Vandalblast because that hurts a lot!

Thanks for your input. I might consider running Goblin Bombardment again in the future. :)
