Silver-Inlaid Dagger

Artifact — Equipment

Equipped creature gets +2/+0.

As long as equipped creature is a Human, it gets an additional +1/+0.

Silver-Inlaid Dagger and Butcher's Cleaver are fantastic in Human heavy decks, though they do lack the flavor of some of the other equipment here.

Also Godo + Helm of the Host equals a massive win-con that folks might not see coming, though I understand if that is way too competitive for what you are going for with this build, but it could be a fun "side board" card to have around as a way to amp up the power of the deck if needed.

I don't know your meta but I would recommend running some more interaction pieces that can be fetched with Sunforger, Disenchant Red Elemental Blast Pyroblast and Mana Tithe can all be fun ways to throw players off their guard who are underestimating you as just another Boros Aggro deck.

For some cut suggestions, I think I'd cut both the Boros Garrison and Temple of Triumph for just a basic Plains and Mountain respectively.

I'd also suggest cutting True Conviction and Mind's Eye I think there are better, more synergistic cards you can run for the deck in place of these. The Immortal Sun does a lot of what your deck wants and then some. And Sigarda's Aid is excellent for all the equipment you're running.

All in all though, this deck looks fantastic and flavorful as is, I'd be interested in playing against on Spelltable sometime!

Btw, in my previous challenge, I meant a card like one of these:

and/or

So, if someone wants to do that instead of fateful hour, that's also very cool.

Evidently I need to be more clear on what I mean. I mean, this is twice my challenge was misinterpreted, so clearly it's on me, lol.

Vicious Shadows actually doesn't work (nor does Stalking Vengeance, and for the same reason), because when a creature (or in this instance a token) doesn't die when it's exiled. I would suggest Warstorm Surge instead. Which I just noticed was in the maybeboard. Speaking of cards in the maybeboard, Swiftfoot Boots is probably better than Lightning Greaves here because shroud makes Valduk untargetable for equip costs. This would normally not be a problem; just equip it to a different creature for 0 mana. However with a semi-creatureless brew like this you'd have to do all your equipping on the postcombat main phase.

I might suggest some of the human-based equipment from OG Innistrad; Avacyn's Collar, Bladed Bracers, Butcher's Cleaver, Heirloom Blade could be really cool (and you could run a human or two for good measure), Sharpened Pitchfork is nice, though first strike is kinda useless, Silver-Inlaid Dagger is AWESOME, and Slayer's Plate may get some work done.

Some generally good equipments include Champion's Helm for hexproof, Chitinous Cloak to force opponents to make tough blocker choices, honestly General's Kabuto may be worth is as the ultimate protection card, you could consider Kitesail for evasion, Konda's Banner would be great and pump your tokens (and yes it would give Valduk +2/+2), Kusari-Gama would be a serious 'don't block me or I fuck you' effect, Ogre's Cleaver is honestly insane, Pariah's Shield, though costly, more or less makes you untouchable, Pennon Blade is worth the cost, the classic Short Sword, Sigiled Sword of Valeron is dece, Skullclamp is OH MY GOD, Strata Scythe is equally insane, the swords are famously insanely powerful, Trusty Machete is okay, Vorrac Battlehorns is an easy way to win fast, and Vulshok Battlegear and Vulshok Morningstar are decent.

And yes, I did slog through every equipment in Magic history to find those.

Props to Heliogabale for some good ideas on cuts. I might add No-Dachi, seems a little overcosted (also it's worth noting Mask of Avacyn has the same mana specs for an arguably better effect), Skeleton Key is not going to do anything for very long, Valduk is probably going to be too big too fast to make use of first strike (@ Sparring Collar), Browbeat is 5 damage to an opponent for 3 mana. Realistically no one is going to let you draw 3 cards.

Sorry, this comment was a looong one.

Looks like a great start ahve a +1.

Here's my two cents:

I would drop Aegis Angel, she's good but to slow for Legacy. Put Kemba, Kha Regent and/or Balan, Wandering Knight in her place and add more equipment

I would drop Scourge of the Nobilis for Consuming Fervor

Some goodstuffs: Angelic Destiny, Basilisk Collar, Captain's Claws, Empyrial Plate, Fireshrieker, Masterwork of Ingenuity, Sigil of Distinction, Umezawa's Jitte, Blackblade Reforged, Brass Squire, and Vulshok Battlemaster, Silver-Inlaid Dagger

SilverBlaze109 on Kor Equipment: Modern Competitive? (SFM Update)

I (also) run an Equipment deck. But, I run Boros for Goblin Gaveleer. Looking at your deck, I like it. I suggest a playset of Siguarda's Aid. In my experience, I've found that 15 creatures is too few of a number. I suggest 18-20. You might consider more cheap equipment like Silver-Inlaid Dagger or Trusty Machete. You might want the Dagger if you get Mirran Crusader. Prying Blade is also good for mana ramp with Kor Duelist. Overall, I see a problem with consistency as you have too many 1-ofs. But, I like the look of it. Take everything in this post with a grain of salt as you might have a better experience. Have Fun!

The swords are a good option. I suggest a playset of Kor Duelist. I suggest replacing Kor Outfitter with something extra copies of other cards due to it being only a one time thing. Siguarda's Aid is basically a free equip plus combat tricks. I wouldn't run Quest for the Holy Relic as it would be slow with only 19 creatures. In my experience, as a Boros Equipment player, with 19 creatures you don't cast 5 creatures and still have the Quest. Your experience might be different though. I would also get a playset of Bonesplitter as it is arguably the best, cheap equipment.Silver-Inlaid Dagger would be better over Trusty Machete due to the extra damage on certain creatures. Overall, you need to get playsets of the best cards to help with consistency. I do like how this deck looks. Great Job!

I was questioning whether or not to include Isochron Scepter in list. It's nuts by itself but it also brings the alure of adding Dramatic Reversal which makes Shu Yun a one shot kill. It's one of those "once you have one you may as wll just add the other" card. But I can see the appeal of scepter even by itself. I will add it and Fabricate to the maybe board for now.

I had Sunforger in my first pass of cards but ultimately chose not to run it. Did you have good experiences with it?

I run the keyrunes becuase they can become creatures with Jeskai Ascendancy to let me keep fueling cantrips - though I'm not sure if the package is worth keeping TBH. while I like the buff/cantrip, it's the main reason for running Alhammarret's Archive and if I replaced all of that with a Paradox Engine I may be able to open up slots. Though the benefits of the cards even outside of combo are good. Thoughts?

Flame Jab is just in there as a way to turn lands int otriggers, but I'm thinking of cutting it for Wear / Tear. Silver-Inlaid Dagger feels really strong, +3/+0 and with double strike it's a huge permanent buff for 3 mana total. But again, I'd be keen for specific thoughts on it.

What do you mean by shooting myself in the foot? too few or too many lands?

I'm trying to steer clear of making the deck too controlly. I play too many draw-land-go control decks and I wanted this list to be more active than reactive.

Is Kraum really that good? I feel like Jori En, Ruin Diver would give me about the same level of value for a lot cheaper. I get that I don't have to play spells to draw cards but wouldn't he inclusion of a second wheel be enough?

Same with Bruse, sure he gives double strike but so does my commander. The lifelink is nice but I'm not sure how necessary it is. What's the added benefit of him over just paying two mana?
