Grave Sifter

Creature — Elemental Beast

Idoneity on Animar Elemental Tribal

Okay, so I am quite fond of brews that are delectation to pilot, but I am beholden to recommend some changes.

Now, Panharmonicon is a fantastic card, but there are only eleven ways to trigger the thing in this deck. Two of those are Draining Whelk and Grave Sifter, so, whilst they may have their moments, they seem lacking for doubling _ETB_s. This is my same opinion for Conjurer's Closet; what value is blinking something? Flameshadow Conjuring is in the same boat. These all become useless far too quickly, save for maybe Risen Reef shenanigans. Bramble Sovereign somewhat falls under the same folly, but I don't believe it to be as narrow.

Another thing to consider is the mana costs of cards. The majority of your curve is at three, which is probably when you would want to cast your commander. Ramp at two mana is far more ideal, as athwart to Keyrunes and Cluestones. I'd cut Temur Banner, Harrow, Gruul Keyrune for Talisman of Curiosity, Talisman of Impulse, and Rampant Growth. Wayfarer's Bauble is also of note. Llanowar Elves, Fyndhorn Elves, and Elvish Mystic each can draw cards off of some of your effects late-game whilst being incredibly effective early.

Pillar of Origins is a fine card, but it only produces mana for elemental, being twenty cards in your deck and the commander. This leaves seven lands with activated abilities and forty-two nonland, non-elemental cards that cannot be used with the Pillar. I would just use Talisman of Creativity.

Seeing as that you have ramp in the command zone, doubling down on card draw seems important. Guardian Project, Beast Whisperer, Garruk, Caller of Beasts, Primordial Sage, and Vanquisher's Banner can draw off of each creature. Kindred Discovery is an especially potent one. Shamanic Revelation and Collective Unconscious each can refill the hand well, but Tishana, Voice of Thunder may just be the best form of this effect.

I would perhaps include more elementals and/or more creature tutors. Perhaps specific creatures for situations, such as Collector Ouphe and Reclamation Sage.

If budget so allows, Thassa, God of the Sea, Rhystic Study, Sylvan Library, and Cyclonic Rift are as good as they are played.

Specific to your deck, Vivien, Champion of the Wilds just seems lovely.

Seeing the decklist, it seems to have a sparse amount of interaction. Reality Shift, Incubation / Incongruity, Imprisoned in the Moon, Song of the Dryads, Lignify, Pongify, and Rapid Hybridization are some to consider. Kenrith's Transformation even replaces itself.

I run Decimate in every deck I can. It is absolutely amazing and has literally never been lacking.

Some counter magic is always great; Supreme Will, Counterspell, and Forbid are some favourites of mine.

That shall be all from me!

I do have a couple of tribal decks along the same route as this if you so wish to peer upon them: Eladamri, Leader of Skyshroud The River Anew

Good luck and happy casting.

Hiya!! Great deck so far! +1

Nikya of the Old Ways or Dictate of Karametra will really help you. But also, with big stompy creatures, you will get killed/bounced exiled a lot, so I recommend including some recursion cards, e.g. Creeping Renaissance , Greenwarden of Murasa . You should be running Grave Sifter due to the tribal. Also, it's simple, but Elixir of Immortality is also great at keeping you in the game.

How do you go with card draw?

Totally disregarding lands, I'd cut: Everything Gus suggested, and Warstorm Surge , Wolf of Devil's Breach , Lord of Extinction , Grave Sifter , Counterspell (depending on how good your mana ends up being), Pull from Tomorrow , Urban Evolution (I think you want your ramp/draw to elemental-based, more efficient, or fix your mana), Titanic Ultimatum (take what I said about Counterspell and bring it up two levels), Conflux .

I'd add: the mana ramp Gus suggests and Fertilid , Smokebraider , Primal Beyond , Avenger of Zendikar ,

I mean, Strip Mine and Wasteland are staple inclusions in pretty much any deck, but if you really think the manabase is that weak then fair enough.

I suppose the deck really does run too many pillow-fort effects, but, yes, I tend to play in metas with lots of creatures, so I tend to think that having a wipe suite (unless you're playing mono-green or something) is effectively a necessity.

Land Tax isn't terrible when you also have Scroll Rack , but I suppose it could be dropped.

Also, what's wrong with Command Beacon, exactly? I suppose if you're just really looking for lands to axe, fine, but it's not a weak card in and of itself--at least when your commander is better than Daxos.

And you want to put in Crucible of Worlds , but take out Strip Mine ? Alright, I guess, but I have to say that that's a little disappointing.

I also completely forgot that Porphyry Nodes was a card, honestly. Otherwise, it'd be in there.

Your full list of replacements would make it to where we're playing a lot fewer enchantments, but I suppose Daxos isn't that great anyway, so, whatever. I'm honestly not sure if making that deck would qualify Daxos for tier 3, frankly, as it's more the deck than the commander or any synergy he has with it that's any good, but, whatever. I'm at least proud of how the mana curve in that deck is basically perfect, which is something your suggestions mess with slightly, but I suppose that doesn't really matter.

I just built that deck as an experiment, so I don't really care about it too much. Here, on the other hand, is a deck I've actually played extensively and have been tuning ever since I first made it:

Begin The Hymns. It's a Seton, Krosan Protector deck, and when I originally made it and shared it here, he was a very rogue af commander who was tier 4 or 5, but he got moved up to tier 3 after that point. The deck hasn't changed much since then, and I don't think I'm arguing for it to be moved up to tier 2 (the only mono-green commander in tier 2 is Selvala, Heart of the Wilds , and I'm assuming that's because she's draw in addition to ramp), but I would like to point out that Seton is perhaps the fastest mono-green ramp commander in the format. His ability effectively gives every druid in the deck haste (though, many of them have better abilities of their own), making him much faster than Azusa, Lost but Seeking , Omnath, Locus of Mana , and even Selvala (though she's probably still better).

At times, it's practically a storm deck--I've played some very interesting lines with it before. One time, my last opponent almost had me hard-locked by being able to recur Pernicious Deed and Liliana of the Veil with Doubling Season on the board thanks to Muldrotha, the Gravetide , and I believe what happened was I drew and played Green Sun's Zenith , got Eternal Witness , she got back Natural Order , I cast Natural Order getting Grave Sifter to get back all of the druids he'd previously wiped, then, with my remaining mana, I cast Aluren , then went off and killed him that turn (I had Zendikar Resurgent on the battlefield, hence why I had the mana for all that in the first place). I've cast Genesis Wave for 55 on turn 6 before thanks to Gaea's Cradle , Voyaging Satyr , Argothian Elder , and Vitalize . Yes, the deck dies to boardwipes (especially instant-speed ones) and counterspells, but it's surprisingly resilient, and also quite redundant, provided my opponents don't follow up by slamming some stax effect (which they probably would).

I think the biggest thing that would improve this deck is getting some tutors for Immerwolf . Chord of Calling is the most important, since it's instant-speed, allowing you to flip your werewolves. Woodland Bellower , Green Sun's Zenith , Birthing Pod , Eldrich Evolution, Fauna Shaman , and Natural Order are all good, too. Secondly, I would put in some generic tribal stuff. Adaptive Automaton , Door of Destinies , Herald's Horn , Kindred Summons , Metallic Mimic , Obelisk of Urd , Vanquisher's Banner , Urza's Incubator , Coat of Arms , Descendants' Path , Grave Sifter , Path of Ancestry , Shared Animosity , Steely Resolve , and Tribal Unity are all cards you should consider.
