Magebane Armor can help with that, gives +2/+4 and takes away flying.

Grothama, All Devouring Shield Tribal

Here's a deck featuring the new legendary Wurm Grothama, All-Devouring. It uses lots of protection like Magebane Armor and Shield of the Avatar to prevent opponents from drawing cards from Grothama, while we can move the equipment on our turn to draw from it. Also lots of other ways to gain value from the fighting.

Both of your Notable cards are counter to your Commander. The less creatures you have, the less you can use to protect him. And since he doesn't go into his Graveyard, you can't bring him back after board wiping. You also have a few other black cards that sacrifice your own permanent shields that could be used by Dralnu to survive.

You could also be using an enchantment or two that adds Hexproof to your Commander so that you don't get board wiped when he takes damage. Retreat to Coralhelm can give you two Flashbacks per turn. Or, more effectively, one Flashback sorcery on your turn, and one Flashback instant on your opponent's turn. Sword of the Animist could also help with that combo.

Dralnu bouncing with exile cards and hexproof instants also look like a necessity. Looks like Burn decks will shred your creatures by just targeting Dralnu at the moment. The Magebane Armor is a start, but risky on its own.

Phaetion New Jhoria got my attention too, might be my next deck. Let me know if you build Fire & Sun, as off this moment I'm the only one haha!

I like both Magebane Armor and Command Beacon. I'll throw them in! Really need cut suggestions though.

As mentioned in both the description and the comments, my meta has allowed Painter's Servant for this deck.

Thanks again! Please upvote if you like the deck!

Spirit_Logan Thanks! If you like the look of it please upvote! I can't run symmetrical damage doublers in my meta. too many aggro/voltron strategies.

Thanks again!

Firesong has high toughness, bu some read board damage can manage to kill him. Maybe Magebane Armor could be handy to make him or any other of your creatures survive.

I've been thinking about building this guy, though the new Jhoria has my attention, and I got a couple suggestions.

You could do with more ways to protect the minotaur at the helm. Might I suggest Magebane Armor and Command Beacon?

Oh, and Painter's Servant is banned in EDH.
