Urza's Armor

Artifact

If a source would deal damage to you, prevent 1 of that damage.

It's an old card but An-Zerrin Ruins is right alongside Urabrask the Hidden in shutting a typical Horde down. Tsabo's Decree is there too. I'm pulling these from https://www.mtgnexus.com/viewtopic.php?t=623 which also discourages infinite combos, since the Horde can't react.

I'm curious about your damage reduction choices. I haven't seen one used against a Horde-- are they really that crippling? If so, I might suggest Urza's Armor .

A couple of questions - Am I missing something? Doesn't Zo-zu affect you as well? Do you have a plan for avoiding the damage, or are you just going to take it and pay the pot (it is a good cause after all)? (Orbs of Warding or Urza's Armor might help?) Ruination would take out all of your snow-covered lands (they count as basic lands), although I see you can play them from the graveyard (taking repeat damage from Zo-zu). Watch out for Heartless Hidetsugu and Dictate of the Twin Gods together. Once I accidentally took out the whole table, myself included, with that one (forgot I didn't have Gisela, Blade of Goldnight out). It only works if you are at an odd life total, and no one else is, or you have a way to do 1 damage to them (which you surely will). Mycosynth Lattice is a non-bo with Blood Moon (although great with Vandalblast.) So I don't have a lot of specific advice, but just a few things to keep in mind. Good luck, and thanks for supporting such a great cause!

cool deck! i am building a new mono red edh deck and i found some cards in your list i may use.
my thoughts, Lightning Bolt over Slaying Fire?
also i am very psyched about the new Thrill of Possibility! it is like an instant speed Tormenting Voice, what is not to like. i think it is auto-include in every mono red edh deck.
also Starstorm and Magmaquake are also options.
also i know it is terrible but i always liked the idea of running Urza's Armor but i just cant justify the 6 cmc. but it would make Pyrohemia soo good!
also maybe Mana Geyser? idk
and i would run Rummaging Goblin and/or Faithless Looting over Merchant of the Vale.
finally i usually run like 37 lands at least. sometimes i get flooded but its nice to hit those land drops and avoid situation #3

hope my thoughts are helpful keep having fun!! cheers

If I were to have Urza's Armor and Worship on the battlefield at the same time, would they negate all damage dealt to me once I hit 1 life?

Urza's Armor and Sphere of Grace are both good at protecting you from Pestilence damage. As someone else pointed out, I highly suggest Pariah

This is tricky - I like it!

There are a few decent prevention effects among these: Scryfall, the best for you probably being Light of Sanction .

Though you've likely tackled this angle fairly well... The best repeatable ones on the list are Story Circle , Circle of Protection: Red / Rune of Protection: Red - and the slightly spicier Shieldmage Advocate , Protective Sphere / Righteous Aura .

Urza's Armor is decent if you're using things like Pyrohemia and is useful to a degree vs Spellshock or Pyrostatic Pillar (also have you got Eidolon of the Great Revel ?) Similarly the ult of Ajani Steadfast seems good.

First thoughts, be careful with the use of Thought Reflection. Wouldn't want to accidentally mill yourself if you hit Enter the Infinite and they have a way to survive - like say, Urza's Armor, Battletide Alchemist, Chameleon Blur, Channel Harm, Endure... Counterspells are nice, but you may need them to shut down your opponent's combos instead of saving them to save your own combos. You only have 4 guaranteed counters that don't have conditional modifiers after all...

You also might want to include either a method of massive mana ramp High Tide + Palinchron style, or a separate win-condition besides your commander's ability and Psychosis Crawler, something that could get around damage prevention.

Although, feel free to take these suggestions with more than a pinch of salt - I've personally never played Commander so I don't know much more than the fact that only one of each card is allowed... But generally speaking, if you think there's even a CHANCE of ever successfully casting Enter the Infinite, you'd better have a method of guaranteeing you win within a single turn when your entire deck is in your hand. Which means, making sure you have enough mana to cast counterspells, mill, damage, or loop back to the start through Time Reversal for yourself as necessary, even after counting the 12 CMC of EtI. Include at least one combo that acts as an auto-win if they don't have a counter - because with how powerful a card Enter the Infinite is, if they have a counterspell they're going to use it then.

It's definitely an interesting deck idea, but could use refinement still - I definitely think (should you be able to afford them) that Mind Over Matter or Omniscience would be a great addition.

Protection of the Hekma v Urza's Armor? It's cheaper but requires white and for the source to be an opponent's

EDIT: and the art. the art is a big factor. sand magic, mf.
