Not Forgotten Discussion

Very good list! But do you think Snapcaster Mage is worth to play a creature? If you really need recursion, I would rather play Not Forgotten because you can cast it when you reveal it with Narset. Same goes for Memory Lapse, Counterspell & Negate. Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast and Narset's Reversal are just better because if you exile them with Narset you have a target most of the time and not just a dead card. Please visit my decklist and share your thoughts: Narset cEDH

I'm not a cEDH player, so I can't discuss that aspect of the game, but I have some options you should be aware of.

Kick Start My Heart | Winota, Joiner of Forces EDH

You have a very different creature set up than me. Fascinating. I'll have to consider some of these, though I'm not a fan of playing stax or control or hatebears myself. My deck resolves around creating tokens turns 2-3 with Krenko's Command effects, Winota turn 4, and swinging with hopefully 4+ triggers. Then it is a matter of protecting my stuff and closing out the game the following turns.

Alternatively, you can sit back and wait for the late game, great a massive army of tokens, and snipe the win.

Winota is the linchpin of the deck. If she's not out, we're screwed. Here are some things to consider:

Some techy things:

  • Not Forgotten creates a token and recurs a human creature that we can free cast later.
  • Penance is a neat way to get humans stuck in your hand on top of your library. You can do this in between Winota triggers, which guarantees you hitting humans.

Anyway, I like your deck. It's very different than mine, which is good. Cheers!

Kokuryuha, you're totally right about the Mission Briefing line - my mistake. I was really hoping we could run the deck without those regrowth spells. I have slotted in Not Forgotten and updated the back up loop description. I think this is the next best thing. I has hoping there would be some kind of loop with either Mission Briefing or Narset's Reversal, but I don't think there is.

How are you PeskyPineapple. To better explain the terms, Spleen made a post a 6 months ago on reddit about the terms i've used here.

An example of a regrowth effect would be Not Forgotten. For more grander explanations though, we have very capable people on the Elsha discord server...

A quick rundown of the first changes I'd try to implement.

You'll want some way to deal with artifacts and enchantments, possibly Seal of Cleansing in the sideboard.

You don't have valuable many-for-ones ( Merciless Eviction , eg); if you want more play versus aggro decks you might add some. Languish , Dusk / Dawn , things like that.

Also you don't have exile-versions of removal, but white and black are good for it, if you wanted to give up some of the "sacrifice for insane value" plan. Utter End and its variants.

Hmm I'd say Errand of Duty is a two-fold cut, first because it's only one token for two mana, and secondly because you have to explain how banding works to most other players.

Cackling Counterpart is a great card, but, since it only can target a creature you control, it actually doesn't have very many good targets in your deck. Not Forgotten is an okay card to interact with graveyard decks, but I'm not sure if it will really pull its weight.

Hope that helps a little!

Doomed Traveler is always a good first turn- it can die as a chump blocker, and then you get a flying blocker as well with Spirit synergy! Kami of False Hope is great at any point to protect yourself.

Rattlechains is definitely a great one, if you pair it with Niblis of the Mist or something similar. Nebelgast Herald would be an awesome pair for that theme!

For quick spells, Silence and Render Silent are incredible for control. Vapor Snag and Not Forgotten get things away from you or back to you.

I hope this helps! Let me know what you're thinking, I'd love to help more. :)
