Throne of Eldraine, let's see what spices you add to the Knight pot! A friend of mine wants to make a budget Knight deck with Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale so I'm throwing some cards against the wall to see what sticks. His original plan was Tariel, Reckoner of Souls (mostly for the colors and not doing nothing) but the new commander is much more synergistic. It lines up perfectly with his vision!
This deck was originally headed by Ravos, Soultender
and Tymna the Weaver, then Aryel, Knight of Windgrace once Dominaria dropped.
I would like a few more good equipment cards and I would definitely try to drop the knight count to around ~28. I think one or two more card-draw effects would be nice, even though there is draw in the Command Zone.
With equipment being "reusable" (unlike Auras) and having draw in the Command Zone, I think a grindier game plan might be appropriate. Things like Phyrexian Reclamation and Palace Siege might be decent for that, as fair aggro definitely runs out of steam.
I tried to include a decent chunk of life gain to counteract the commander's life loss as well as help the grinding plan. Not sure I would call it a "subtheme" though.
This deck is mostly a thought experiment and sounding board for my friend at this point so advice would be nice but I'm not exactly actively working on this deck. Definitely no need to remind me it's over 100 cards!
