zephyr_chang Thanks for the suggestions! I really like Knight of the Holy Nimbus and I'm going to swap it for Leonin Skyhunter .

Hopefully, the price of History of Benalia drops after it rotates out of Standard - lots of value in that card. Knight of the Holy Nimbus is also pretty resilient and I would include that in some number over Leonin Skyhunter and/or Knight of the White Orchid , which I think are the more underwhelming creatures you have right now. Benalish Marshal could also be a contender over Mirran Crusader , which seems to me more of a sideboard card for G/B creature matchups.

@ Gloglok I know card advantage can be very difficult in mono white (It works with card value). For me Arch of Orazca cost too much as a card draw engine. I can recommend you following to try out:

Lifegain plan: Swap all cards below 5 mana except Weathered Wayfarer , so you can use Dawn of Hope . Key cards for a lifegain plan would be cards like Resplendent Angel , Archangel of Thune , Auriok Champion , Serra Ascendant

Add blue or black: Kills devotion and then the deck goes into white-blue or white-black prison control (see death and taxes) with angels as some finishers

Artifacts: not really productive to the devotion plan but Tower of Fortunes is one solid card draw engine. A while back i tested also Tamiyo's Journal but it both of them were too slow for me. (You can still try it tough)

Next update i do: (Mana base adjustments) Goes in: 4x Flagstones of Trokair + 1x Ghost Quarter Out: Field of Ruin

Next tests i do: Serra the Benevolent , requires more flying creatures to work properly. Angel of Jubilation stops enemy fetchlands, phyrexian mana, and any pay life effect but not bolt proof! , Archangel of Tithes actually perfect for this deck, swap for boardwipe Gideon Blackblade , requires even more low mana creatures like Knight of the Holy Nimbus which is actually a 3/3 indestructible for double white

I'm digging the invincible and destroy all mashed together. Creates strong board control and allows you to swing uncontested.

Fist, I've noticed you're running 46 lands, which is quite a few. I think you could cut down to 38 very easily, especially if you cut a few of the larger CMC spells in favor of cheaper alternatives.

So what would I spend those 8 land slots on? Tutors and ramp.

Enlightened Tutor Open the Armory will both help you find Darksteel Plate or Worldslayer

Weathered Wayfarer or Expedition Map tutor you to your special lands. Tithe can help you with card advantage.

Serenity could be a hot include too for more control. Porphyry Nodes works in a similar vein for creatures and probably combos better with your deck. Planar Collapse is another cheap wiper that can clear the board for you.

Knight of the Holy Nimbus works surprisingly well here too.

I don't think you actually want All Is Dust for this deck! Your commander flipped is a white permanent, and sacrifice goes through indestructible! One of the lower cost mass destruction ( Porphyry Nodes / Planar Collapse ) could easily fit this slot if you didn't use it to replace some plains. Fiend Hunter is also an excellent choice, as it lets you reuse ETB effects by wiping the board, or gives you spot removal on an opponents problem creature.

Not a fan of Omen Machine here either. Pretty expensive for a stax type piece, would much rather see Aven Mindcensor for flash blowouts + beats or more wipes or Spirit of the Labyrinth to keep draw-hate in your list.

Emeria Shepherd Adarkar Valkyrie and Palisade Giant could all be lower CMC creatures to smooth over your early game. Soltari Visionary could give some extra control elements, while Samurai of the Pale Curtain could help against graveyard strategies. Dust Elemental lets you reset your ETB creatures or can be flashed in at EOT before yours to prepare for a board wipe. Even Serene Master could be good for early game to help you get more to mid game!

You won't always be playing against a black deck, so you may be a little overboard with Knight of Grace, Knight of Glory and Fiendslayer Paladin. In preference I'd run 4x Accorder Paladin, 2x Knight of the Holy Nimbus and 4x Mirran Crusader. Otherwise you have a decent mana curve, so your deck should flow reasonably efficiently. I might be tempted to swap out 2x Honor of the Pure for Throne of the God-Pharaoh, you have Knight Exemplar providing a pump too... Since they are knights, it would be remiss not to mention Benalish Marshal Hero of Bladehold and Kinsbaile Cavalier. Hope this helps, good luck with your brew.

Thanks for the input, SynergyBuild!

I was considering putting Swords to Plowshares I to the deck from the start, but I was a bit hesitant because there’s quite a bit of large creatures in my playgroup, and gaining the controller 13 life is not good for you. It is better for the smaller creatures, though. I’ll probably end up putting it in anyways.

Soldier of the Pantheon was an option from the start I considered, but I don’t think it’s right for my specific playgroup. In other builds of this, it might be great, but I only play against 2 mono-black decks, a U/W deck with 3 multicolored cards, and a G/B deck with 4 multicolored cards. It’s a little inefficient there, but I might add it as a 1 or 2 of. Even if I’m playing against a mono deck, it’s still a Savannah Lions, which isn’t all that bad.

As for your next suggestion, I just can’t afford Recruiter of the Guard. I agree it would be great in this deck, but the $22 price tag is more than I can jump for.

Finally, not that many enchantments show up when I play, so I’m not sure about War Priest of Thune. There are some, so I might put it in anyways, and it’s only a 2/2 for 2 if there isn’t any, which isn’t too bad. Accorder Paladin shares some resemblance with a renowned Consul's Lieutenant, and it usually isn’t hard to convince one person to help me and take 2 to renown it. Once it’s renowned, it survives better thanks to the extra toughness, and boosts toughness on my creatures for more survival. That said, I’ll test out Accorder. There’s not that much removal in my playgroup, so I don’t think I’ll include the Knight of the Holy Nimbus.

Riders of Gavony looks very fun, and I hadn’t heard of that one. That has the potential to be very effective against the G/B elf tribal deck that I frequent play against. I’ll definite consider putting a few copies of that in here. Imposing Sovereign could also be worthy of consideration. Finally, while Field Marshal could be very powerful, it is a bit expensive, so I’ll have to think about putting that one in.

Thanks again for the suggestions! I’ll make some changes to the deck when I have time.

To start, this is casual, so you have access to a ton of great creatures, Mentor of the Meek, Consul's Lieutenant, Reciprocate, and Brave the Elements aren't what I would pick, even for a budget.

Swords to Plowshares over Reciprocate, as it is a budget option, and is the best creature removal in the game, apart from some minor cases where Lightning Bolt, Fatal Push, Chain of Vapor, and Path to Exile are better, all in specific decks.

Soldier of the Pantheon is a really powerful card I would suggest, dependent on who you play against, like Dragon Hunter, but it can't be dealt damage by a multicolored creature or spell, and can't be blocked or targetted by one either, so it ends up that you can effectively get free wins against some decks!

Obviously, Recruiter of the Guard and a bunch of one-of cards like Palace Jailer, Sanctum Prelate, True Believer, Thalia, Heretic Cathar, and other 'hate' cards that almost instantly win against the right deck can be good, but isn't cheap to build.

War Priest of Thune can be good against enchantments, Accorder Paladin for a more aggressive strategy, Knight of the Holy Nimbus if you go against removal heavy decks, Riders of Gavony against any tribe, and Imposing Sovereign for fun. Even Field Marshal can be sweet!
