Well let's see, if you want some good vampires I've found that Markov Dreadknight and Stromkirk Condemned are amazing, especially the latter because it fits your theme. Vampire Hounds can swing for big damage consistently, and offers instant speed discard. Skyshroud Vampire is also an evasive version of Vampire Hounds . Finally, and I'm honestly surprised you don't have her in here, Olivia, Mobilized for War is stunningly good because discard, counters for marchesa, and non-vampires you're running become vampires.

Besides Entomb and Markov Dreadknight , I don't see anyway to get Haakon, Stromgald Scourge into the graveyard. I would consider one maybe two more ways to do that. I think Call the Bloodline could be a good option but I am sure there are many more. Just a suggestion! Not sure how reliably you get him into the graveyard.

Ok, a few suggestions. As per the description you state you want graveyard shenanigans, and im assuming that's in reference to Haakon, Stromgald Scourge. I have my own variation of this deck: Knighty-knight that you could take a look at that does just tha.

Looking over your deck list, I see some tweaks that should be made if this is a direction you want to go. First off, you only have one outlet to easily get Haakon into the graveyard that I can see in Buried Alive. I'd recommend a few more to facilitate some consistency. Entomb & Final Parting both work like Buried alive and Peace of Mind , Call the Bloodline , and Markov Dreadknight are discard outlets for if you draw Haakon.

You should be getting some value from this recursion other than knights that wont go away. Door of Destinies is a great anthem effect that gets bigger with each spell. On top of this, there are spells like Nameless Inversion , Crib Swap , and Shields of Velis Vel that have changeling. Which means that they are Knights while in your graveyard. Haakon will allow you to play these spells over and over again.

Last suggestion is relating to your equipment package. I'm not against running equipment, but i'm certainly not a fan. However, there is one equipment that I am surprised is not being run more often and thats Kusari-Gama . Such a great effect that can punish an opponent when forced to block.

I hope this helped a bit.

Hi,

In order to make this deck EDH-legal you should still remove 3 cards to make your total 100; not sure if you had noticed :) The mana-balance of this deck is a little off. What I mean by that, is that you're using a lot of expensive-to-cast creatures but virtually no ramping/mana rocks. This means that when you draw your opening hand in a game, chances are relatively high you will not be able to perform any (useful) actions during the first few turns. An additional problem is that the deck contains very little opportunity for you to draw more cards or to search for cards you need.

I would recommend adding some mana rocks like Rakdos Signet, Talisman of Indulgence, Commander's Sphere, Darksteel Ingot, Gilded Lotus, Rakdos Cluestone, Rakdos Keyrune and/or Worn Powerstone. Also, Dark Ritual is a very good accelerator for black.

In terms of draw-cards, I think you could profit from using stuff like Sign in Blood, Skullclamp and Underworld Connections.

In order to make room for (some of) these cards, I would definitely recommend removing expensive stuff that isn't doing that much for you like Bloodhall Priest, Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood, Markov Dreadknight, Skeletal Vampire and Vein Drinker.

Hope any of this helps. Regards,

Olivia, Mobilized for War and Markov Dreadknight both give discard outlets. Haakon, Stromgald Scourge can only be cast from the graveyard so maybe add some madness tech. Might want more way to get Haakon into graveyard if I go to vampire knight route he will become essentially the sub commander.

Oops, did not realize Tormentor counted as Black/Blue. The more I know I guess.

Voldaren Pariah is great, especially in edh. I see no reason not to play her. She does work a lot better with more sac enablers though.

Heir is just what popped in my head when thinking of vampires that enable discard. I'm not familiar with a lot of vampires. Some other ones that might work:

-Markov Dreadknight

-Ravenous Bloodseeker

-Vampire Hounds
