Prying Blade Discussion

TheRedGoat: Honestly, Scroll Thief and Smuggler's Copter SEEM bad, but they consistently draw me into my lands and my control pieces. I'm never ever disappointed when I see them in my opener. Inundate isn't a bad idea XD but I'd rather just play Merchant Scroll / Spellseeker to grab Cyclonic Rift for example, in that slot. The other rattlesnakes are... okay? But I'd usually prefer outright control or counters in that slot (I don't like giving my opponents choices when I punish them). I tested Hidden Strings , Last Thoughts , and Hands of Binding , but they all got cut :( Last Thoughts is strictly worse than Scroll Thief in this list, and the other two were too low-impact overall. The issue with Sakashima's Student and Ninja of the Deep Hours is that they're only unblockable ONCE in this list (they have too large of a P/T to be unblockable here). Teferi's Veil and Siren Stormtamer might have a home here, avoiding removal? Honestly unsure, I've definitely considered both. Prying Blade ups my power, which I actively want to avoid XD Verity Circle might make it in here, it's been really REALLY good in The Locust God , though Rhystic Study would get that slot first. Murmuring Mystic could be cute I suppose (paired with Bident of Thassa ? wooooooo that seems hilarious). But Time Stop really isn't my jam in multiplayer: it makes me tap out and be unable to answer anything :( Thanks for the thoughts!
TJFNIJ: Oh, that's cute XD I like that, but it's 10 mana before I get the pump effect (assuming I want to pay echo), so I think I may have to skip it for now.

Pretty neat idea. One thing I like to take advantage of with double strike is capitalizing on effects that trigger every time a creature deals combat damage - which, with double strike, means twice with every attack. For instance, if your hit your opponent with a double striker equipped with Prying Blade , you'll get two treasure tokens out of the deal. That definitely sounds more attractive to me than the one extra power from Marauder's Axe! Likewise, a Beacon Hawk with double strike can untap two of your creatures.
Soltari Visionary is a card I recommend to most white pauper decks, since he's virtually unblockable and can repeatedly take out your opponent's permanents for free. There are no shortage of enchantment-based decks in pauper, as your deck helps illustrate! You might also appreciate Cavalry Drillmaster , as +2 power and double strike for cheap can be a real surprise before you attack.

I'd consider running it if I had it. I'd likely swap it into Prying Blade 's spot. 0 CMC Artifacts are my favorite haha

This is especially similar to the deck that I run so I'll make a couple suggestions if I may! :)
The Antiquities War is a great card to run main-board if you're willing to forgo the Djinns and some of the spells to accommodate a few more artifacts! Sai, Master Thopterist and Tezzeret, Artifice Master are also great cheap additions that synergize exceptionally well!
Lastly, and only because you're running the full slew of Traxos and Djinns, may I suggest Prying Blade for some extra artifacts/damage/mana ramp? :) It also gives you extra treasures for Treasure Map Flip.
This is my deck- though it's less above the curve focused than yours for sure, it might give you a few more ideas! https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/clockwork-angels-artifacthistoric/

Still an impressive piece of work I see.
Next, what are your thoughts on the following (literally just your thoughts not saying you should make cuts for them):
Prying Blade as completely unnecessary ramp.
and last but not least, Time Stop . Because nothing is more oppressive than hearing "beginning of your turn, end the turn."

Quicksilver Fountain is another way to turn on islandwalk and slow down opponents' at the same time.
Being able to connect consistently with combat damage opens up some fun avenues to explore. Coastal Piracy and Bident of Thassa for card advantage; equipment like Sword of the Animist, Quietus Spike, Bloodforged Battle-Axe, Dowsing Dagger Flip, Mask of Memory, Prying Blade, Rogue's Gloves, Specter's Shroud, and Spellbinder all give different options depending on what you feel you need more of; and for redundancy Thassa, God of the Sea is clutch.
I cannot imagine merfolk do not engage with sea monsters and they would definitely give you some late-game push. Ones that spring to mind are Scourge of Fleets, Stormsurge Kraken, Slinn Voda, the Rising Deep, and Stormtide Leviathan.
Throne of the God-Pharaoh could be potent with all of your sideways turning. To complement this fact and reinforce merfolk's weaknesses (aka aerial anything) vehicles could work. Smuggler's Copter comes readily to mind.

Gabichu I just got back to playing MtG a couple days ago and I'm still trying to remember how to play the game tbh, so I've been updating it recently.
The trick a while back was to stock up on mana from Prying Blade and stack Amulet of Vigor with a dual mana like Gruul Turf, since each untapping of the lands stack, to then using Increasing Vengeance twice with another spell, depending on the current situation.
The main problem that I remember about this type of deck is the turn 5 meta, so I thought about replacing Prying Blade with Fountain of Renewal for stalling, but I really don't think a small consistent source of life is better than a burst mana source, right?
Sarkhan Unbroken Is there because I have it already, and because it's either a mana battery or a token maker on the turn it's summoned, a 5 CMC for either 5/3 pseudolife and 1 Flying Token/ Draw + 1 Mana is a good trade to me.

Sadistic Hypnotist- all your opponents lose their hands, elf triggers, good stuff. Dark Deal, more Nath triggers. Geth's Grimoire draws you crazy cards with wheels. Megrim, Liliana's Caress, Fell Specter, Raiders' Wake are all good for a discard deck. I'd throw Mind Slash in this deck too.
