Maybeboard

This is my deck for the casual format with my playgroup (we allow proxies and have our own banlist which might explain some cards)
I feel the deck currently plays pretty well and am just tuning up the little things and testing out the new cards that come out.
Please let me know if you have any feedback!

I'm currently working on switching around some cards and even taking out some cards that I really like to fit my meta and try out some new stuff.
My meta recently moved towards having some more decks that pack several counterspells so I need to be ready to fight against that now. Sadly I'm kinda having trouble with fitting in interaction pieces without hurting the fun core of the deck of beat face dragons.

Here's what I'm adding/removing atm:
R= Chromatic Latern. 3 mana rocks are slow and I never seem to need the second ability thanks to the fetches/shocks.
R= Dragon's Hoard. I really love this card flavor wise and kinda wanna slot it back in but it's a 3 mana rock which I'm not a fan of.
R= Mirari's Wake= I'm torn on this card. It can often help me win really fast (or just empty my hand) but this is at the cost of making me the villian by far, even if I can't win with it. That or it just gets insta-removed.
R= Fire Covenant= Another flavorful card I'm sad to see go. But I think a traditional boardwipe is better in my battlecruiser meta where I'd have to pay 10-20 life to just destroy 2-4 creatures.
R= Sarkhan, Fireblood= This card was usually pretty solid but I never really liked how it could be destoryed so easily and the fact that it only makes creature mana. I'd kinda prefer for general mana. But man it is flavorful and solid so might put it back in.
R= Bladewing the Risen: It isn't bad but I rarely find myself really abusing it's effect too much. It is also sort of hard to cast. Still deciding on this one though.
R= Yosei, the Morning Star: So I love how this card deters boardwipes but I feel the problem is, is that if we are really winning by a ton, the opponents are gonna boardwipe no matter what. So it won't really deter much there. Only in a more moderate situation where we probably weren't winning anyways.
R= Living Death: This card just always seemed to give more advantage to my opponents than me since I'm in a big battlecruiser/tribal meta. Def a good card in general though.
R= Selvala's Stampede: Man I really love this card and want to find a place to put it back in. It can give so much. But in the scenario where you don't have much in hand, your opponents can just all say "hand" and the card is just sorta worthless.
R= Swiftfoot Boots: I also love this card but took it out for some more interaction. I think it is still amazing and would somehow like to get it back in.

A= Utopia Sprawl: Seems like a harder to remove Birds of Paradise? Testing it out.
A= Fiery Emancipation: I think this can just win me games when it comes down.
A= Recurring Insight: It is very mana intensive but seems amazing for refilling our hand and keeping us going in the mid-late game.
A= Eerie Ultimatum: Testing out as a "I win" card.

^By far the best Ur-Dragon primer. Very educational. A must read.

^interesting more competitive take with stuff like dramatic scepter and paradox engine http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/bow-before-draconic-king-war-update/ ^I love this list. Probably my favorite. Has a lot of the same taste and goals as me.

A near comprehensive list of draw effects in all colors:

A fantastic near comprehensive list of ramp in EDH:
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/new-edh-ramp-full-list/?cb=1579173035

Ramp

Fires of Invention: This might actually work in this casual deck???
Kiora's Follower: This might become good with how many things I have that tap for 2+ mana?
Ranger's Path: This 4 mana ramp gets shocks and takes us straight to 6 mana, a prime number for us.
Gilded Lotus: Wanna test to see if it is good
Shaman of the Forgotten Ways: Not sure if it is worth it since it only makes creature mana
Bloom Tender: Seems like an amazing dork
Utopia Sprawl/Trace of Abundance: Want to test out enchantment ramp...
Urza's Incubator: Might be worth it for the late game explosive turns it gives? Not good early game though.

Misc.

Molten Echoes: A fun double up enchantment. Bad with legendary dragons though (about half of mine)...

Creatures

Dragonlord Atarka: Removal on ETB and a big beater seems good?
Dragonlord Kolaghan: Another haste enabler?
Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge: Only 2 mana but really just a big dumb beater...
Glorybringer: Removal and cheap dragon?
Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury: A cheap dragon with a soso attaack benefit.
Thundermaw Hellkite: To counter the other flying tribes at my table?

Draw

Return of the Wildspeaker: Instant speed draw seems amazing
Syphon Mind: I usually play 5 man games where this is insane
Treasure Cruise: Ancestral recall with all the fetches
Vivien, Monsters' Advocate: Kinda high CMC but seems like a fun card to test in a flex spot.

Recovery/Protection/Reanimation

Animate Dead: Seems like the best single reanimation spell
Counter spells (to help fight other counterspells, want them cheap): Dispel, Mystical Dispute, Swan Song
Lofty Denial: Flavorful but not too good imo
Autumn's Veil/Veil of Summer/Guttural Response: Amazing Anti counter
Pyroblast/REB: Amazing anti blue

Removal

I'm trying to push towards lower CMC removal since this deck has trouble holding up mana.
Austere Command: A fantastic boardwipe
Beast Within: Versatile and easy to cast
Despark: Might be good in my battlecruiser meta
Dismantling Wave: Seems really plus?
Mythos of Nethroi: Good budget removal?
Toxic Deluge: A board wipe that can be selective and is mana cheap.

Lands

Dragons

Bladewing the Risen: I like him but some people think his effect isn't strong enough and his firebreathing is too hard to pay for
Teneb, the Harvester: Really hard/expensive to get his effect off
Yosei, the Morning Star: It's effect is great but sort of only depends on us getting board wiped. I feel like it might not be worth running as all it does is deter boardwipes but our opponents will probably do it anyways if our board is too big.
Dragonlord Ojutai: You don't normally get more than 1 or 2 draws off of this but, at the same time, it is only 4 mana so not sure.

Misc

Draw

Ramp

Mirari's Wake: It's just really mana expensive to get going. Maybe a cheaper dork would just be better. It does make casting everything free but also draws a lot of hate without immediately winning me the game or anything.

Lands

Ramp

Temple of the False God: Can be slow. Feels real bad to draw it early.
Commander's Sphere: A little slow for what I wanted.
Cultivate/Kodama's Reach/Farseek/Rampant Growth/Explosive Vegetation: Still testing to see if I miss these. I replaced them with dorks/ramp spells that get lands untapped to be faster. I'm also running only 6 basics so these can become dead.
Dragonlord's Servant/Herald's Horn/Urza's Incubator/Goreclaw: I replaced these with dorks because those can pay for all of my spells, not just dragons which are only 20% of the deck. Furthermore, the draw effect on Horn often just missed for me.
Bear Umbra: Seems cute but needing to attack is rough.
Elves of Deep Shadow: Ok but I prefer something more versatile.
Sylvan Caryatid: CMC 2 is a little high.
Prismatic Omen: Never found I've needed further fixing.
Fist of Suns: Only cheapens Ur-Daddy which we often don't even need to win.
Exploration: I don't think we can really make this worth it.
Carpet of Flowers: Banned in our meta
Deathrite Shaman: I don't want to buy it bc of the Pioneer price spike and I wanted more land based ramp as we boardwipe a lot.

Dragons

Dragonlord Silumgar: Stealing doesn't take care of the problem and you end up never wanting to attack with him. I like him but he can be a liability. Doesn't destroy the threat and you don't wanna attack with him. Does work well with new Sarkhan though bc deathtouch
Dragonmaster Outcast: Was slow, always removed easily, and never felt impactful
Hellkite Charger: Effect too expensive so just becomes a big dumb beater
Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon: Infect is meh in 4-player and puts a HUGE target on you.
Broodmate Dragon/Verix Bladewing: Just big dumb beaters. Not impactful.
Intet, the Dreamer: Slow and expensive card draw that could just hit a land.
Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund: Clone effects = rip your dragons
Palladia-Mors, the Ruiner: Not impactful enough. Big dumb beater.
Ramos: Hard to get his effect off and is a huge target? No immediate impact when played.
Savage Ventmaw: Can be slow and we prefer mana before combat. Does go infinite with Aggravated Assault though
Skyline Despot: There are better ways to make tokens. Monarch will just draw a ton of attention to you. Also very high CMC
Steel Hellkite: Better made for a Scion deck. I found myself never using his second effect
Stormbreath Dragon: It never felt impactful enough and I never used the second ability.
Teneb, the Harvester: Really not a bad dragon but it's just hard to make the cut. I found myself only rarely using it's ability with how expensive it is and relying on damage.
Thunderbreak Regent: 3 damage just isn't too relevant in Commander.
Wasitora, Nekoru Queen: I never found her impactful enough.

Misc

Xenagos: Honestly a sick effect but probably not worth the 5 CMC. And only gives Haste to 1 creature.
Maelstrom Wanderer: 8 CMC is too high. Sick card though.
Lurking Predators/Descendants' Path: These just seem like they will miss too often.
Tooth and Nail: Cool but too expensive CMC wise.
Sarkhan Unbroken: Will never ult and draws a ton of attention to me. Is 5 mana worth draw 1 and get 1 mana
Remember that most planeswalkers are bad in Commander as they are very easy to destroy.

Draw

Sensei's Diving Top: Really nice but expensive for a deck on a set budget.
Bident of Thassa: Expensive and sort of slow. I prefer to get the draw on ETB.
Colossal Majesty: Fine but only gets you 1 draw/turn. Better to get 1 draw/dragon.
Lifecrafter's Bestiary: Sort of mana intensive for draw, especially in a 5 C deck.
Mystic Remora: Banned in my meta.
Necropotence: Seems cool but BBB is hard to pay.
Rhystic Study: Banned in our meta
Kindred Discovery: Might be good but is very mana expensive. Want some low cmc draw
Windfall: I played this card once and then just lost to a combo deck so I don't think it fits this style of deck idk.

Recovery/Protection/Reanimation

Teferi's Protection: Banned in my playgroup.
Asceticism: Cool card but 5 CMC is too high.
Eternal Witness: 3 CMC and GG is a bad. Just do Noxious Revival or Regrowth.
Unburial Rites: CMC too high.
Kindred Boon: Too mana intensive for protection.
Primevals' Glorious Rebirth: 7 mana is way too much and doesn't even get everything.

Removal

Aura Shards: This deck can't really abuse this.
Deathbringer Regent/Merciless Eviction: You don't really want to board wipe with how expensive all your creatures are. Want 1-sided wipes. Mortify/Putrefy: Fine but not enough versatility for cost.
Path to Exile/Swords to Plowshares: Not enough versatility. Great card though. Vindicate: CMC a little high and a sorcery.
Windgrace's Judgment: CMC too high.
A lot of these can be good but I am testing having 5 Removal spells in the deck so I have to be judicious with my cuts.
Utter End: The versatility of this card is amazing but 4 mana is just so much.

Tutors

Mostly all banned in our format (Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Sylvan Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor)
Sarkhan's Triumph: 3 mana is too much
Eladamri's Call: I like this card but with how casual the deck is, you rarely need a specific dragon and rather just a lot of dragons to win. So I slotted it out for another piece of removal.

Greater Good combos with Crucible of Fire and graveyard recursion. Crucible also works with Temur Ascendancy like effects!
