INTRODUCTION:

This is actually my first EDH deck and I would love suggestions or advice for it.

Animar is a powerful general that dodges most removal thanks to black and white protection. He gets large very quickly with the right cards can throw every creature imaginable out onto the field before opponents can even react.

This particular animar deck is built for multiplayer and can consistently either establish a dominating board position or enter an infinite combo(but by no means relies on these combos) by turn 4-6ish.

INFINITE COMBOS:

Cloudstone Curio + mana generator (such as Peregrine Drake ) and any other creature

Equilibrium + mana generator + another creature=bounce all their permanents.

Aluren + any creature that bounces itself and under three mana such as Shrieking Drake. Add Champion of Lambholt for an unblockable Animar!

Deadeye Navigator+ any mana generator. Combine with a whole assortment of cards for controlling shenanigans.

Earthcraft + any bouncing creature. Tap the creature as it comes to play but before it bounces back to your hand. Then keep playing it for an infinitely large Animar!

PLAYSTYLEAnimar does extremely well against most decks, especially if they have trouble blocking him due to his protections. Fighting against him, pure U control decks shut him down, but other then that not much can face off against him and hope to survive.

This deck is best changed depending on the local meta. Lots of grave-play? Run Relic of Progenitus and toromund's crypt as grave-hate. Artifacts? Do Sylvok Replica and Krosan Grip.

STRATEGY:Typically no creatures are played until turn 3 when Animar is played (turn 2 if birds of paradise or some other booster is played.) Turn 2 can also be used to play other cards such as earthcraft, survival of the fittest, or worldly tutor.

Once turn four rolls around the objective is to get as many counters as possible on Animar. Animar could very easily gain an infinite amount of counters at this point, but he typically gains 3-6 (Then swinging for 4-7 damage).

By turn five you are likely only restricted by the colored mana on your cards. You can set up a draw engine at this point with cards like Garruk's hoard or extend the length of your turns by casting cards such as Palinchron. Glimpse of nature combined with a draw engine could very easily allow you to play the whole deck at this point!

Turn 6 onwards, Just keep going. If Animar is killed with a wrath of god or some other method it is fairly easy to replay him due to his low cost. And with creatures that bounce themselves in hand he can quickly recover.

FINAL THOUGHTS:Overall, I'm having tremendous fun with this deck. Every game is different and the increase in size for Animar causes quite a bit of tension at the table and makes the game much more exciting for everyone.
