Let Jesus Take the Wheel

Upvote if you believe and trust in Jesus

Do you like having a ridiculous amount of mana, draw, and combos? Do you enjoy playing archenemy and playing oppressive decks? Do you like drinking your opponents' salty tears at the end of the game? If you do, this deck is for you! Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix and Vial Smasher the Fierce are great partners with the mana ramp of Kydele and the supporting role of Vial Smasher's passive damage that compliments each other perfectly. This a multiplayer build that is meant to be fun and exciting to pilot with the randomness of wheeling. Let Jesus take the wheel as he guides you towards the path to victory.

The goal of the deck is to simply play wheels into our combo pieces to win with the support of hand locks and disruption. The wheel mechanic combos very well together and I feel that Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix and Vial Smasher the Fierce can take full advantage of them. The deck is also designed to take advantage of the wheel effects while messing up our opponents with hand locks via Leovold, Emissary of Trest/Notion Thief. Ultimately, this deck has many different lines of play and will always play out differently every game which makes it really fun and interesting to pilot.

Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix plays the leading role of the partner:

Vial Smasher the Fierce plays the supporting role of the partner:

  • Generates additional damage effect for every first spell I cast each turn
  • Damage could be redirected at planeswalkers
  • Kills a random player with an spell once I have infinite mana (killing a player with a Green Sun's Zenith is awesome)

Leovold

The main win condition of the deck is to assemble an infinite mana combo (produce colored mana with Gemstone Array) with Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix:

The infinite mana produced by the above combo can then be used to win with:

There is a lot to be done with regards to balancing and playtesting in order to smooth out the deck and optimize the mana curve. I think that the deck could go in the direction of extra turn spells with inclusion of cascade spells but requires a major revamp. I have a collector's edition copy of Timetwister (not tournament legal) which I will ask people if I can use it if I'm playing in a random pod.

Since this deck can be pretty mean and degenerate if I decide to go all out (locking out people's hands and proceed to combo off), I have also provided an alternative style of piloting this deck to not ruin friendship in a more casual pod. Playing wheels and discard effects with Waste Not in play to generate Zombie tokens can be an alternative way to win.

Jesus take the wheel, take it from my hands, 'cause I can't do this all on my own. I'm gonna let it go, so give me one more chance, save me from this road I'm on. Jesus take the wheel.
