Phyrexian Soulgorger Discussion
seshiro_of_the_orochi on Looking for efficiently large creatures

griffstick: It's one of these terrible cards that are pretty great once in a while.
Has anyone suggested Feldon of the Third Path, yet? Making an Impervious Greatwurm token to fling at someone's face seems pretty dope. Heart-Piercer Manticore is another good fling effect.
I did a quick search and found other fitting cards: Boldwyr Heavyweights, Cosmic Larva, Daemogoth Titan, Daemogoth Woe-Eater, Deep-Slumber Titan, Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger, Phyrexian Soulgorger, Plague Reaver, Traxos, Scourge of Kroog

Selvala CEDH V8.4
Scytec I'm not the maker of this deck, but I do have a Selvala deck that is very similar. Selvala, Heart of the Wilds wins by essentially playing an undercosted high-power creature such as Phyrexian Dreadnought or Phyrexian Soulgorger to quickly generate a ton of mana, get cards like Quirion Ranger or Wirewood Symbiote into play with Temur Sabertooth to generate infinite mana through blinking the Wirewood Symbiote to use it's ability multiple times, and then tapping and untapping Selvala, and then either with through a Walking Ballista for infinite or infinitely bouncing something like Great Oak Guardian to give all your creatures +infinite/+infinite and swing for game.
As for this deck, I would highly recommend adding Concordant Crossroads, Craterhoof Behemoth, or even cards like Berserk. Concordant Crossroads is essential in decks like Selvala, where you can repeatedly bounce your own mana dorks to generate infinite mana, or even flood the board with creatures and quickly swing for game that turn. Deserted Temple is also nice for untapping things like Gaea's Cradle or Wirewood Lodge. Sylvan Tutor is also really nice as it adds more consistency.
Mortlocke on New hubs to be added
Hello legendofa,
I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

My Deck is my Phylactery

Platinum Emperion keeps your life total stable and Lich's Mirror can help keep you alive even if your life total hits 0. Copy Enchantment could be helpful as it's tutorable by zur.
In terms of cuts and what you want your deck to do, I would get rid of Ashes of the Abhorrent, Mirrormade, Phyrexian Soulgorger, Kaya's Ghostform, Ethereal Armor, and Preordain

Artifact R/W CMDR
Be careful with the legality of your deck. Scattered Groves is not legal in a Boros EDH deck because it's color identity is . If you run Zirda as a companion as you have to abide by the restriction as per the oracle text. For Zirda every permanent (Land, Creature, Artifact, Enchantment and Planeswalker) cards in your deck should have an activated ability. An activated ability is anything with with "Cost : effect". ":" is an indication of an activated ability. Cards like Phyrexian Soulgorger and Myrsmith have triggered abilities, not activated abilities, and are not legal in a Zirda companion deck.
Also beware that a change was made to the Companion mechanic so you have to pay to put it in your hand rather than straight up casting it like a commander .
It's not entirely clear who your commander is. You can mark your commander with the tag *CMDR* and your companion with *CMPN* tappedout formatting
Fix these issues and I'll take another look. But it's hard to provide feedback for a deck of 40 illegal cards and no commander ;)

Scavenging Infection - Delirium Rock
BRG24 thanks a ton or the ideas and perspective! Traverse is a great suggestion though because the versatility. I think I will play test a little more before I swap Mausoleum Secrets for Traverse the Ulvenwald. Also delirium lets it find Inkmoth Nexus which I think is funny. I actually considered Phyrexian Soulgorger when I first created the deck. It does have a added benefit of helping towards delirium but the creature itself is pretty bad. If I cant win within a turn of playing it, I lose it and or all my other creatures (comparatively I just have to topdeck if I have a regisaur - both have downsides but I think the dino is better). As for Collective Brutality... I actually have one of my own! I do agree it is felxible but I am not sure if it beats my other removal. Inquisition is cheaper and trophy/decay both hit more stuff. It would add more sorceries which would be nice for delirium and has optional discard but for now I will put a pin on it. I will keep it in mind as this deck evolves.

Scavenging Infection - Delirium Rock

This is a really cool deck, I’m tempted to build something like it now. If you can manage to get the delirium working, I’d recommend maybe using Traverse the Ulvenwald. Personally I prefer it over Mausoleum Secrets since it can grab you lands to help you curve out, and can eventually tutor up all you creatures, rather than just black ones. If you do try and get delirium to fit here, I would also recommend maybe swapping out the Rotting Regisaur for Phyrexian Soulgorger, since they are similar creatures, but the soulgorger adds artifact for getting to delirium. Not sure if this necessarily the direction you want to go, but might be an idea to consider. I look forward to see how this deck evolves in the future!
