March of Swirling Mist

Instant

As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may exile any number of blue cards from your hand. This spell costs less to cast for each card exiled this way.

Up to X target creatures phase out. (While they're phased out, they and anything attached to them are treated as though they don't exist. Each one phases in before its controller untaps during their next untap step.)

Made_Compleat I may be missing something, but wouldn't March of Swirling Mist only give a single 1/1 goblin, as the trigger from Ovika, Enigma Goliath is on CMC (x always = 0) not mana spent?

Hey! I love your deck. Just popping in with a few suggestions: Extra turn spells, like Time Stretch and Time Warp can create lots of goblins plus, well, extra turns. This means more combat steps, more spells, more everything. In addition, I suggest March of Swirling Mist. It can eliminate blockers and produce a large amount of goblins with Ovika.

I hope that you find these helpful!

Your sideboard should probably look something like:

3x Portable Hole clear a path/interaction

2x March of Swirling Mist protection spell

1x Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip value/go faster

3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben hates on spell based decks

3x Cathar Commando enchantment/artifact hate

1x Lavinia, Azorius Renegade can hate on fires or nykthos

2x Rest in Peace answers graveyard stratagies

Nice deck idea. Seems you took the mono blue djinn deck and modified it for black spot removal. I don't know how well Impede Momentum and Phyrexian Espionage will work since most of your deck is centered around land pass gameplay and the sorcery speed nature of these cards can be a little limiting.

I recommend using March of Swirling Mist in place of momentum.

Thirst for Discovery is also a good draw spell as you run enough basics that you should still get the draw advantage you are looking for, but it also doubles to fill grave with more spells for Djinn and Terror if you must discard. The instant speed nature is really helpful as it allows you to at least bluff counterspell interaction.

Sideboard wise you may want to consider Kotose, the Silent Spider. There is a lot of recursion in the format and being able to remove all copies of a threat from you opponents deck, hand, and grave can be really helpful. Remember not to play the exiled card if you are truly worried about it being used from their grave.

If you want grave hate at a faster rate then use Unlicensed Hearse

I like the deck. The Mana-base struggles without many pain-lands or slow-lands. Also if you remove the enchantment synergy creatures you could add Illuminator Virtuoso, Dorothea, Vengeful Victim  Flip, Slip Out the Back, Homestead Courage and more Timely Interference (keeping Combat Research). Also, March of Swirling Mist while not always being a single target spell, triggers multiple Illuminator Virtuosos and Stormchaser Drakes and can phase out Dorothea's Retribution  Flip tokens after damage for cheap 4/4 tokens the next turn.

I have a Dragon tribal deck that has Renari, Merchant of Marvels and Dragon Cultist as my commander and background. I recently played a few games with it and once I had 2 dragons they became a target. I know this is what comes with big creatures. So my question is what are some way to protect them? The deck theme is around casting dragons at instant speed and blinking them for extra value. I can see the blinking as somewhat of Protection. But so fat I have; Deadeye Navigator, Displacer Kitten, Essence Flux, Ghostly Flicker, March of Swirling Mist, Planar Incision, Teferi's Time Twist, Vanishing, Vodalian Illusionist. Let no if I am missing something in the blink category or if there are other forms of protect I can use. Here is a link to my decklist.

I ran a mono blue aggro list for a very long time that's decently powerful, the win con was Nivmagus Elemental. It involved lots of free spells like Snapback, March of Swirling Mist, Disrupting Shoal and Flusterstorm to grow Blistercoil out of nowhere and some other aggressive critters. Judge's Familiar, Thing in the Ice  Flip, and Delver of Secrets  Flip are the most notable of those

@ KBK7101

Thank for very much for your suggestions. I won't use Molten Echoes because I already considered Flameshadow Conjuring and I wanted to focus on permanent tokens. Kindred Discovery is a very good suggestion, I didn't realize that it also triggers for attacking creatures (replacing my otherwise beloved Return of the Wildspeaker. I also inculded March of Swirling Mist as another protection (repalcing Displace for my expensive dragon army, pun not intended ;))

Thanks again for your suggestions :)
