Oh, yeah, by the way, Mogg Assassin can target the same creature twice. Murder on a stick.

Aye, no problem! And don't worry about it, I get what you're trying to say, that's all that really matters. (:

I had nothing to do this morning in class, so here you go, too many card suggestions.
-Incarnation Technique, Creative Technique, and Excavation Technique all give you and a buddy a powerful effect. Of course, you’re getting the better end of the deal, but they can have cool stuff too.
-Benevolent Offering kind of goes along with that, too.
-Flumph is great. It’ll trigger some of the effects in the section below when people attack you for a card, and it’ll make everyone your friend.
-Tenuous Truce is Flumph for two.
-Smuggler's Share is nice, since you’ll get just a little more out of giving everyone extra card draw.
-Jailbreak is excellent for only two mana and basically no money.
-Sivriss, Nightmare Speaker gives you extra draw every turn. Like, three cards worth. That, or it’ll be a lightning bolt to the face for someone, so you win either way.
-Sword-Point Diplomacy is kind of the vibe I’m going for here.
-Emberwilde Captain is more goad and works with your pre-existing Monarch card.
-Leyline of Combustion is always pretty fun, along with all of the leylines. Just super annoying, is all.
-Bring Down, Gang Up, Deadly Designs, and Play of the Game are all good removal that other people can pay for and when there’s some big Emrakul threat on the board, people are usually pretty willing to spend to get rid of it.
-Wake to Slaughter and Dredge the Mire are both resurrection spells and both very nice. Only problem is that an opponent has to pick for you. Just make sure that anyone willing to help will be given a high five and a 5/5 angel or something.

There's not going to be anything with two mana that'll have under six toughness, and not much with four mana, either. And six damage is just better than three.
Since you're going to be sacrificing your elementals on your end step anyway, you may as well squeeze a little more damage out of them.

I saw someone named gruulmaster posted to make a legendary Homonculus when this thread was first started, so I'm posting this.
Xrtl-Mrnz, The Awakened 3UUU Legendary Planeswalker - Xrtl-Mrnz
+2 Search your Library for a homonculus and put it onto the battlefield. Only activate this ability if there are homonculus creatures in your deck.
-1 Exile a homonculus creature from a graveyard and create a copy of that creature, except it's a 3/1 flying Eye. an addition to it's other types.
-1 If a homonculus would enter the battlefield this turn, you may sacrifice it and deal damage to any target equal to it's power and toughness combined. When you do,
-5 Take control of all homonculus and eye creature tokens until the end of your turn. You may exile X Eye creatures you control to make an Y/X (Y is X times three) Nightmare creature token. It gains the abilities of all creatures exiled with Xrtl-Mrns, as well as haste, flying, trample, and annihilator 2. Exile Xrtl-Mrns and return all creatures exiled with Xrtl-Mrns to the battlefield.
It starts with 3 loyalty. This is completely balanced and definitely not way too wordy or complex.
I'm going to pass on the person above's challenge and say make your dream non-Commander commander card. <3

Psst This isn't unformat, it's legacy! (:

I've wanted to play Shandalar for so long, bookmarking & updooting this. Thank you, good sir.
October 5, 2022 8:29 a.m.
Psst! Try using Corrupted Roots! Then swap something out for it when you're not playing against a white or green deck.

Hey, myLover_! Well, it's just more expensive than Blight is all. It's definitely better, but not by enough that I'd say it's worth it. Thank you for the suggestion, though! I'm definitely keeping that in mind if I really like this deck and want to make upgrades.
October 4, 2022 12:15 a.m.
I absolutely love this deck. Aside from upping the budget for more expensive Eldrazi, I don't see any edits to make this better.

I found a broken card link (:
General Strategy > Ivy and Enchantress > Second Paragraph > Third Sentence > (In the parentheses) Enchantress's Presence
You just forgot the last 's' in Enchantress's.
Very thorough breakdown, though, I'm impressed. This is some this is my final presentation of the year and I have an F in this class level hard work and organization. Every time I saw something I could suggest as a change I scrolled down a little and either saw why you didn't want it or that you already had the card I was on my way to suggest, lmao. Upvote for the name alone.

Y'know what? Now that I went back and looked it up, the Warhammer 40k set (along with the other Universes Beyond sets) aren't Modern legal.
September 28, 2022 1:48 p.m.
Set fire to the universe, brother! Blood for the Blood God! is a must-add, just because you'll get that extra draw. Y'know, on October 2nd when it comes out.
Approach of the Second Sun is kind of cheeky, if you wanted to add more draw to get back down to it a second time. Although, this wincon feels a little lame in comparison to your current one. Second Sun is a good card, but it's less fun if you win that way, y'know?
As far as hubs, Burn is one for sure. maybe Jank, Unblockable, or Theme/Gimmick if you wanna push it.
Anyway, this is sick, so I decided to make a budget version! Here it is: Budget for the Jank God!
September 28, 2022 12:58 p.m.
fszk I can definitely do that!
Step one is deciding on whether you want to make soldier tokens specifically or just any type of creature. It doesn't really matter, they're both good and fun to play, but I'll give you suggestions for both.
You want to use cards like Assemble the Legion, Skyknight Vanguard, and Outlaws' Merriment to consistently make a tokens. Which, y'know, in Boros token spam you're probably going to want a lot of those.
Then you're going to want a reason to make so many tokens. Either something to buff them like Honored Crop-Captain and Felidar Retreat or a reward for having so many creatures Halo Fountain (Expensive, but you really only need 2 copies), Seraph of the Masses or Kolaghan Forerunners. You could also use something like Goblin Bombardment, Impact Tremors, or Cavalcade of Calamity. What you pick here is going to change a lot of what you pick for other parts.
And now for mana! White and red don't have a lot of great mana ramp, but classic artifacts like Boros Signet, Boros Keyrune, or Boros Cluestone. Prosperous Partnership could work well, too. Goblin Trenches could be snazzy if you care to add in white catch-up cards, but I'd stick to Prosperous and Signet.
Anyway, uhh, I just said a lot of stuff. That's my definition of some pointers. You don't want to know what a lot of pointers looks like. Good luck and feel free to ask for more assistance. (:

Hey, carpecanum, thanks for the comment!
Odric, Lunarch Marshal is going in immediately. Minding him, I think there's some other walls I could add in to make his ability that much stronger.
I've seen Wave of Reckoning in pretty much every Arcades deck I researched and slowly but surely I'm coming around to adding it.
As for Sight of the Scalelords, that would mess up some of my other cards like Slaughter the Strong, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, and Fell the Mighty. Besides, I already have four things (if you include Odric) to give vigilance.
September 20, 2022 1:43 p.m.
You should try adding something to give them trample. Just two copies of Talons of Wildwood would make this a lot better.
Remember, your 10/10 treefolk and all of those big baddies leeching off of your graveyard can all be blocked by 1/1's with no problem. Rancor is fun too, but you can't bring it back from being milled.
September 20, 2022 9:16 a.m.
I would definitely get rid of your shock land if you're looking for budget, since that's 50% of the cost. And you want more consistent lands in general. Battlefield Forge is a good pain land that is much cheaper. I'd keep Boros Garrison and maybe 2-3 copies of Sunhome, too.
As for everything else, you should pick a specific type of deck that you want to play. Here's the easiest ways to play budget Boros: Burn/Prowess - Cast spells like Lightning Helix + Rift Bolt dealing direct damage to your opponent's face for a quick, direct kill. Hammertime - Take fast, small creatures and give them really big Colossus Hammers so they deal lots of damage really quick. Assemble an Army - Make a lot of soldiers really fast, train them well to make them a formidable force, and swing for the kill.
Once you pick one of those, then you can have one specific goal in mind. Magic decks are strongest when they have one way to win (that's called your wincon!), so pick one that sounds fun (not necessarily one of the ones I told you, but those are good for beginners and budget) and base your deck off of that.
If you want to, feel free to DM me. I like Boros a lot and have too much time on my hands, so yeah. (:

I like it I like it I like it And I entirely agree with Suns_Champion over there, and we should be friends. Nay, we are friends now.
Have you considered something like Impact Tremors? The snakes are a mirage, but they could at least put in their fair share of work aside from being blockers.
Red might also have a discard punishment card somewhere. No clue what it would be if it's not black or black/red, but since your opponent will be discarding so, so much, it might be a good idea to punish them for it.
