Hofri Ghostforge
Legendary Creature — Dwarf Cleric
Spirits you control get +1/+1 and have trample and haste.
Whenever another nontoken creature you control dies (is put into the graveyard from the battlefield), exile it. If you do, create a token that's a copy of the creature, except it's a Spirit in addition to its other types and it has "When this creature leaves the battlefield, return the exiled card to your graveyard."

Note that Curse of Clinging Webs doesn't care about whether it was actually able to exile the creature (there's no "if you do", like on Hofri Ghostforge), so the opponent always gets the Spider.

It is a priority issue, yeah.
Triggered abilities are put on the stack in APNAP (Active Player, Non-Active Player) order. During your turn, you are the Active Player, and your opponent is the Non-Active Player. In a multiplayer game, each player after you in turn order is the next Non-Active Player.
However, the stack is first-in, last-out. So, if your Hofri Ghostforge's ability triggers first, it'll resolve last. If it tries to exile a card from your graveyard that's already left there, the ability will fail to do anything when it resolves.
So, on your turn if your creature dies, it'll be exiled to Curse of Clinging Webs' ability. On your turn, it'll be exiled to Hofri's ability. In a multiplayer game on neither of your turns, it'll be exiled to the ability of the permanent controlled by whosever turn is furthest away from the Active Player's turn.

I think this is a priority based question, but unsure. If I am playing Hofri Ghostforge and he is in play and someone enchants me with Curse of Clinging Webs, who gets to decide who exiles my non token creatures? As they both say whenever another non token creature I control dies, exile it

Ghired - Precon Primal Genesis - Heavy Upgrade

Hi eliakimras,
I was now able to do some playtests with the current set. I still changed some more cards.
Added:
- Elder Gargaroth for Keeper of Fables
Elder is crazy good, drew it 2 times, and it gave me so much options. for example with token doubler and Elemental Bond or with Quartzwood Crasher. - Exploration for Chrome Mox
I dont like the Cardloss from the mox, and when I have good card draw, I can get rid of additional lands - Selvala's Stampede for Tendershoot Dryad
Still not drawn, but this card seems like crazy good. Tendershoot has to less synergy, as it doesnt trigger my 4 power card draws. - Growing Rites of Itlimoc
 Flip for a Forest
probably dumb, still not drawn. I probably have to switch it for a "Ramp" slot. Right now this would probably Sword of Hearth and Home - Kenrith's Transformation for Swords to Plowshares
I like that kenrith is denying a commander, and no life gain. But you lose instant speed. Still not sure which better - Jeska's Will for Farewell
Its always easy to cut a Boardwipe, and mostly not the best Idea...2 boardwipes left...but I want to test how Jeska works in this kind of deck. - Emblem of the Warmind for Rampaging Baloths
Cheapest "all Creaturs get Haste" card in MTG. Cutting Baloths was not easy and maybe Omnath, Locus of Rage is the better cut, as it is more expensive and harder to cast. never drawn actually. but haste is insane for this deck. so lets give it a try. - Gisela, Blade of Goldnight for Titanic Ultimatum
I still waiting for Gisela, so never played it. But for Budget, Titanic is still a very good card. It won me games or saved me from loosing at certain points due to lifelink. Gisela seems more powerful and easier to cast. - Rishkar's Expertise for Garruk, Primal Hunter or Rampaging Baloths still not sure.
Feedback to new or rarely played cards:
- Quartzwood Crasher is insane good. Thematically, and also its easy to get like a 10 or 15/15 Token, which you can copy with ghired, after that its gonna be snowball. Surely one of the best cards in this deck. Similar with Elder Gargaroth
- Selesnya Eulogist: Surprisingly good card, I rarely drew it beside the fact thats it a day 1 card of this deck. But targeting creatures from other graveyards (or the own) to prevent reanimate or similiar, and getting blockers is very good!
Cards I am uncertain:
- Wulfgar of Icewind Dale: he is nice, as I have some cards with attack triggers. But maybe he is too expensive. If he goes out, Rampaging Baloths will come back
- Hofri Ghostforge: Only played once, with already strong board. Here he is really nice. best with ETB creatures like Dockside Extortionist with this one i was most sceptical, but I think I will keep him.
Still the deck has a lot of protection, and I am not sure if it too much, but as Ghired is quite expensive, I will right now, not cut a indestructible spell.
About your utility Lands. yeah Gavony Township might be a cool manasink. But Right now I dont have it, as I put it in another deck. also i have a lot of utility lands right now. Kessig wolf run I removed, as having Trample seems no problem in my last plays.

Ghired - Precon Primal Genesis - Heavy Upgrade

Hey, m4rs, I'm back with some spicy tech for your deck, this time regarding the big tokens themselves:
My suggestion, whenever possible, is to run creatures over other spell types for the same effect: they synergize better with your deck, despite being more vulnerable to boardwipes. (It makes you more explosive, which is better the higher you go on power level).
-
Have you considered Quartzwood Crasher? It is already a trampling beater that gives you even bigger trampling beaters.
-
How about Emeria's Call  Flip replacing a basic Plains? It creates tokens for you while protecting your team. Otherwise, it is a shock land version of Plains.
-
Overwhelming Stampede is great when you have a 5+ power creature on the board. Unfortunately it doesn't apply to the tokens created thereafter.
-
Delina, Wild Mage can copy your legendary creatures as non-legendary, just for Ghired to copy them even further. (Throw in Parallel Lives in the mix and we're salivating already.) Maybe you're lucky enough and roll 15+ three times in a row?
-
I believe you should bring Aurelia, the Warleader back to the deck. It has great effect by itself, but it also comboes infinitely with Helm of the Host for infinite combat steps.
-
Harmonic Prodigy and Wulfgar of Icewind Dale double your Ghired triggers. The former can be cloned for extra spice and the latter also works with Etali, Primal Storm, Aurelia, the Warleader and Combat Celebrant. (Too bad Isshin, Two Heavens as One is black :-/)
-
If you're relying a lot on "when-something-enters-the-battlefield" effects, Panharmonicon might be a good friend to you.
-
Did you try Rionya, Fire Dancer, Bramble Sovereign and Mirage Phalanx as extra copies of Avenger of Zendikar, Combat Celebrant and Dockside Extortionist?
-
In that matter, Hofri Ghostforge gives all your creatures a second life should your opponents dare removing them. (I played against him, and it is ANNOYING to have to kill things twice to get rid of them.) The bright side is that the exiled cards come back to the graveyard after they LEAVE the battlefield for any reason, so you can recur them.
-
Talking about recursion, have you considered Timeless Witness? It shines against wheel decks (Wheel of Fortune) or mill decks (Maddening Cacophony), just as Dollhouse of Horrors do.
-
Iroas, God of Victory gives evasion to your creatures while protecting them from blockers.
-
Marisi, Breaker of the Coil should maybe return to the deck if you're afraid of being attacked when going all-in, since you removed Intangible Virtue. It also has the neat bonus of your opponents having to answer before you declare who you're attacking. (I know it doesn't scream "token" off its textbox, but it is a repeatable Disrupt Decorum effect which clears the board for your next attack).
-
I believe Selesnya Eulogist might be swapped out for Scavenging Ooze or the recently spoiled Lion Sash. Despite not populating, they exile any card and are cheaper mana-wise. The Sash can also be equipped to a creature to buff a creature and avoid creature wipes.
-
Did you consider Flawless Maneuver and Teferi's Protection as protection for your creatures? They can replace Boros Charm and Heroic Intervention if you're running low on card slots on the deck.
-
Worldly Tutor is a second Eladamri's Call.
-
Farewell is Austere Command's brother. (I would run both in my white nonblack decks.)
-
Since you run Cultivate, maybe run Kodama's Reach instead of Bloom Tender?
-
Since you run the Moxen, Gemstone Caverns fills the same role of exchanging cards for tempo, while being a land. (You can always choose to not go first if you win the dice roll.)
-
How realiably can you activate Eldrazi Displacer's abilities? Battlefield Forge, Karplusan Forest and Brushland might help with the colorless part of the cost.
Now, as always, I want to suggest some removals:
-
I love Mimic Vat in battlecruiser games, but it doesn't pull the same weight on quick games. (It hurts to write it, but my beloved Soul Foundry might also only belong to Christmasland, since, if you don't have the mana to cast AND copy the creature right away, your opponents might see the danger incoming and remove the artifact before you get any value off it.)
-
Flamerush Rider requiring an attacking creature target right away means that your options are too limited. In my opinion, Delina, Wild Mage and Rionya, Fire Dancer are better cards for the effect.
-
Tendershoot Dryad might not belong here, since Ghired cares about quality, not exactly quantity of the tokens.
-
Esika's Chariot. I understand it already comes with its tokens for crewing, but getting a token copy of TOKEN creatures AFTER combat is too narrow for my taste (and you don't have noncreature tokens). Again, Rionya and Delina are better suited for this job.
-
Sword of Hearth and Home is good protection stapled to decent blink and ramp effects, but the ramp comes too late for Ghired to care, the blink is unreliable and the protection can be better executed by Shalai, Voice of Plenty, Saryth, the Viper's Fang (trample + deathtouch is nasty), Privileged Position or Asceticism.
-
Response / Resurgence is single-use. Aurelia, the Warleader's effect is repeatable.
-
What are your experiences with Warstorm Surge? I usually leave it out of my deck if I have access to Terror of the Peaks, since 6 mana is a lot in my games and the Terror is tutorable by cards you already run.

well Mr. king-saproling The Bloodsower, I was stuck in the house for a week and what started out as a pile of cards, a generous gift (Anointed Procession), and a couple frivolous purchases, I came up with this. The final cards came today so I haven't play tested it yet.
The main strategy is using the Gain Control cards and, with Hofri Ghostforge's ability, using Sacrifice cards to make bigger versions of those cards and return fire.
Vicious Shadows could be a good "bleed 'em out" win-con. Use Moon-Blessed Cleric and Plea for Guidance to get Viscious Shadows, Anointed Procession, and Sneak Attack for devastating effects.
There are a lot of weird card interactions with this deck. Too many to mention. However, one that stands out is the Panharmonicon > Anointed Procession synergy. Then, throw in Cavalier of Dawn and sacrifice itself.
Once again Mr. King, thank you for taking the time to analyze and provide suggestions.

Also i am not a fan of Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, he doesn't add a lot of color variety and his recursion is limited. Similar story with Kenrith, the Returned King. Not a lot of spirit support for Hofri Ghostforge, but i get why he is in there.
