I Recently have been playing more EDH lately and have been enjoying it... I got ahold of the 2018 Saheeli, the Gifted precon deck and have been modifying it.... i decided to go the route of focusing on getting a critical mass of artifacts/rocks/tokens and using her 2nd +1 ability for getting big mana to dump into a big spell like Crackle with Power or similar to win the game.

Any advice would be appreciated pretty new to the format in general.

I got ahold of the 2018 Saheeli, the Gifted precon deck and have been modifying it.... i decided to go the route of focusing on getting a critical mass of artifacts/rocks/tokens and using her 2nd +1 ability for getting big mana to dump into a big spell like Crackle with Power or similar to win the game.

Any advice would be appriciated... pretty new to the format in general.

Lot of my suggestions are leaning into tokens because Blood Avatar clearly wants that, and if i can find a spell that makes tokens than Extus will be happy too. Thats my idea.

Let's take a short break here, because you need better creatures. Creatures that have VALUE as you recast them over and over, maybe even discard outlets. I hate to say it (and i'm not going to list them) but Aristocrat creatures are ideal here because they are cheap, and gain life which can then be used to cast wild stuff like Bolas's Citadel.

As a side note I've been playing with a couple of variations on this deck exploring different wincons and fun things you can do. Right now I'm looking into seeing if I can flip it totally and replace the clones with token generators such as Mirrodin Besieged then pumping huge X spells such as Crackle with Power.

X spells get a lot stronger when you don't have a lot of blue players in your playgroup. So it just depends

That's a really good one!

One other you can do since you've already got it built into your deck with Mana Geyser, Runaway Steam-Kin, Birgi, God of Storytelling  Flip and Battle Hymn if you get any of those to go off and get you 10+ mana you really want an X spell to dump all that mana and end your worst opponent (or the game if you're close).

My suggestions would be these:

  • Banefire - This is the most consistent one for ending someone and is best to copy.

  • Fall of the Titans - This one is great if you're certain it's not going to be countered and if you can cast it for its surge cost and then copy it as needed to take out everyone.

  • Crackle with Power - The biggest boom you can get with X iirc

  • Red Sun's Zenith - If you are certain you can dig into it again with all the card draw this is a good option

  • Jaya's Immolating Inferno - Decent like Fall of the Titans but not as good as Crackle

Also, since your deck relies on copying creatures so much you could add in more of that like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker

I’m currently working on a Tyranid deck as well, to cut costs I use a lot of old cards from my previous RUG decks. Having said that, it’s not the best, but I would use Unbound Flourishing, Green Sun's Zenith and I’m not sure it would be my play style but Crackle with Power is an instant win.

Zarthalius Agreed! I usually use cards like Reckless Fireweaver and Nadier's Nightblade as ping engines that stay there the whole game and slowly drain my opponents. Marionette is too big a threat for the other players to let me do that, but I usually try to use her late game when I know I can take out all the remaining players with her in one shot. I essentially use her like I would use a Crackle with Power, I hold onto her until I know I can win with her.

Exsanguinate seems super cool because it's versatile! I can use it to win, but I can also use it to save myself and hopefully take out a player or two in the process. With cards like Bolas's Citadel and Sensei's Divining Top it won't be too hard for me to then regain the momentum I lost to the spell.

My one worry with Torment of Hailfire, if I'm honest, is that I won't have good opportunities to kill opponents with it and because my deck isn't centered around combat, 50% of the time I'd then be dead in the water. Idk, I guess I'll have to try it!
