Elturel Survivors

Creature — Tiefling Peasant

Trample, myriad (Whenever this creature attacks, for each opponent other than defending player, you may create a token that's a copy of this creature that's tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker they control. Exile the tokens at the end of combat.)

As long as Elturel Survivors is attacking, it gets +X/+0, where X is the number of lands defending player controls.

Cool to see an Exalted Voltron Isshin build. I don't see those as often as some of the go-wide strats. It looks like you have 2 copies of Akrasan Squire in your mainboard.

Although they aren't Samurai, Knight of Glory and Knight of Infamy can help round out your Exalted creatures.

I know they also aren't Samurai, but there are a handful of creatures with Myriad that work well with Isshin. Because of how Myriad and Exalted both work, you can technically have a Myriad-creature attacking solo. The Myriad tokens are created after the Declare Attackers step, so they don't count as declared attackers.

Some cool Myriad creatures:

Lastly, Dolmen Gate and Reconnaissance can help round out your board protection for attacks.

KBK7101 on Isshin, Two Heavens As One - Eiganjo Uprising v0.6

Yeah! Myriad is a super cool mechanic. On top of that, it works incredibly well with Isshin and various ETB damage dealers (Impact Tremors etc)! It's exactly the kind of thing that I'm looking for in this deck.

I knew Baldur's Gate had a good handful of Myriad creatures but I completely forgot about Elturel Survivors! It's definitely going in the deck in the next update. Thanks!!

Was just doing some playtesting with the current build with all the updates. I think the stupidest turn I had was Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin attacking with one +1/+1 counter and Isshin and Fervent Charge. Krenko went from 2 power to 7 power with his new counter and double Charge trigger, making seven goblins and his second counter buffing him to 8 power, making another eight goblins. I think Impact Tremors was on the board as well. Another crazy turn (without Impact Tremors, sadly) was Winota, Joiner of Forces hitting Thalisse, Reverent Medium after a huge Kaya, Geist Hunter turn where I made an amount of tokens that I didn't even bother counting. Hahahaha!

Solid update KBK7101, glad to see your deck is feeling more cohesive for you. The lands in your Upgrades section of Maybe Board could likely replace some of your basics and Wind-Scarred Crag.

Based on your creature list, it seems like you really like the Myriad creatures. In case you haven't seen it yet, Elturel Survivors might be worth looking at. I know you have plenty of upgrade options under consideration as is.

Happy New Year!

Isshin certainly is a handsome man. Your deck looks really solid. I'm glad you are already running Tocasia's Welcome. I enjoyed how it played out with the token production from my last game. Some other stuff worth checking out:

Hope this helps, and happy brewing!

  • Signal Pest is also another cool 1 drop that helps add more beef to each swing.

I like a lot of your suggestions DaringApprentice, thanks so much! And am taking several of them. Let's see, I added in: Bojuka Bog, Hagra Mauling  Flip, Sword of the Animist (so freaking good with Marchesa on the field), Laelia, the Blade Reforged, Daring Apprentice, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and I think that's it.

Embercleave led me to finding The Reaver Cleaver, then I had a game the other night where a Captain Lannery Storm + The Reaver Cleaver rocked my world and made me decide to add it to my deck. I'm hoping the synergies for exiling cards to cast play well together in this deck and help speed Marchesa up. I'm really trying to figure out how to add in a Quietus Spike, Elturel Survivors, Geyadrone Dihada and a Deathrender in here, but don't know what to cut. I feel like everything fits so well. Any thoughts?

I think you have the beginnings of a decent Isshin deck here, but could make some minor & inexpensive adjustments to help focus it a bit more.

When making adjustments to your creature base, I'd recommend generally removing anything like Cliffhaven Sell-Sword that doesn't really have any abilities, or Sky-Blessed Samurai, which doesn't really fit with your theme.

Isshin lives primarily in combat, so you'll want to focus on attack triggers if possible. Here are a few relatively inexpensive attack trigger creatures that I like, some of which I run in my Isshin deck:

Vigilance Anthems are also super helpful for keeping your board swinging aggressively, but staying untapped for blocks. A few I really like:

Hope this helps!

Delphen7 on Silent Arbiter with multiple attackers

Say Player A controls Silent Arbiter and Elturel Survivors.

Player A moves to combat, and declares Survivors as the one attacker. Myriad triggers, creating additional attackers.

For the sake of the example, lets say both players B and C are at one life. Both players want to block to stay alive, but Silent Arbiter only allows one blocker per combat.

Who gets to block?
