Dragonspark Reactor

Artifact

Whenever this or another artifact enters the battlefield under your control, put a charge counter on this artifact.

, Sacrifice this: This deals damage equal to the number of charge counters on this to target player and that much damage to up to one target creature.

@seshiro_of_the_orochi I have your deck a look over and I sure did see a few cards in your list that I really want! I particularly liked your suggestions of Scarecrone and Dragonspark Reactor they seemed neat!

@scotchtapedsleeves Yeah the mana curve and mana base are two fundamentals thats im totally lost on (because I've only played a handful of EDH)... something feels wrong about a high number of basic lands; but I need a lot of mana for may gameplan so cycling lands seemed like a neat thought for a built in land drop if needed or just use mana rocks to filter through the deck....My other EDH deck is Gavi, Nest Warden so maybe its just habit or I just brainwashed myself into thinking that cycle lands are good lol.... as far as curve goes... yup not a clue really... granted I have a lot of ramp/rocks so I figured Spine of Ish Sah/Duplicant would be removal/interaction that would aid with artifact count for saheeli but maybe more efficient spells like Pongify would be better?...Myr Battlesphere is kinda the same thought and its more about paying for 5 additional artifacts than a beatstick.... and as far as the other saheeli planswalkers go its just %100 me fangirling for her lol... the -2 abilities to make copies seems neat but its mostly just me cramming them in here lol

Thank you both for the advice/input... im gonna work with the list and pick up a few singles like Izzet Signet/Scarecrone... If either of you have any additional thoughts/suggestions please say so its very appreciated so thanks!

This looks pretty cool. I think you could even cut two lands. I've recently built Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant, and I included some cards there you might want to consider.

The Mightstone and Weakstone  Meld is surprisingly powerful. Putting a big mana rock downlate in the game can feel bad, but this thing can double as card draw or removal.

Slobad, Iron Goblin is a nifty little mana source.

With all those artifacts, Dragonspark Reactor can deal quite a bit of damage.

And Scarecrone is a reanimator card many forget about.

If you click on the folder icon in the top right, one of the green buttons is Create Deck. Copy and paste this list into the Mainboard and Maybeboard tabs, add a description, and hit Save.

Disclaimer: I don't play Ranked anything. Suggestions may be underpowered or janky. There are a few cards in Standard that trigger both Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines and All Will Be One with an etb trigger that puts counters on something. The big difficulty I see with going this way is that both of your key cards cost five mana, so you won't be seeing the full effect for several turns. Serra Redeemer with the key cards turns a Boros weenie deck into an all-out blast, but it's also five mana.

Other possible directions could be an artifact deck based around Dragonspark Reactor, or landfall and Felidar Retreat. Either way, Mechanized Warfare seems like a shoo-in. Elesh Norn is more of a value card, while AWBO is a finisher, so getting them to link up properly will take some work.

Welcome to the club, tconway!

If you're trying to build around Great Desert Prospector and Penregon Strongbull, you'll need a lot of creatures. A few cards that can help push damage through are Pyre-Sledge Arsonist, which deals damage based on the number of permanents you've sacrificed; Dragonspark Reactor, which deals more damage as you get more artifacts, and simple burn spells like Lightning Strike and Voltage Surge. Use white spells to keep yourself and your key cards alive and active; getting to five mana for GDP will be important. (I'm just eyeballing cards that you might find interesting here, so if you see something better, go for it.)

Pick the cards you most want build around and get four copies of those; this will ensure you see them as often as possible. Look for cards that create creature and artifact tokens. Adeline, Resplendent Cathar seems like a good set up for GDP. Make sure you have a good land balance. And above all, have fun!

Hello friend! I have some suggestions! I had way too much time today, so here you go.

Relatively cheap, potent, and just perfect upgrades.

This bit is, of course, focused on making as many treasures as your board can bear.

Great, now you have all of these treasures, now what are you going to do with them?

  • Frogmite, Lens Flare, Scale of Chiss-Goria, Tooth of Chiss-Goria, Mycosynth Golem, Slag Strider, Furnace Dragon, and Myr Enforcer are all notable cards you could add, since they pretty much become free after a while, though mostly pretty useless.

  • Forsworn Paladin is pretty good token generation early game, but really shines with the second ability where it can instantly punish anyone blocking or attacking you recklessly.

  • Marionette Master is going to pack a punch.

  • Dargo, the Shipwrecker is super cheap for a 7/5 with trample.

  • Enraged Giant, Freejam Regent, Battle at the Bridge, Saheeli's Directive, Herald of Anguish, and Organic Extinction are all pretty solid additions, since they don’t make you sacrifice anything in exchange for it.

  • Ruthless Technomancer has a million combos with (like Dockside Extortionist+sac outlet) and is just pretty good on its own.

  • Leonin Elder is just one life, but when you’re playing a treasure deck, that one life will definitely add up.

  • Underhanded Designs is a murder or a poke engine, which is very snazzy.

  • Glaze Fiend is pretty scary, considering that it has trample.

  • Dragonspark Reactor could be a bit of removal in your back pocket or your wincon.

  • Arcbound Crusher’s design team didn’t anticipate just how many artifacts I was planning on throwing onto the field.

  • Professional Face-Breaker is just like Grim Hireling, in that it makes treasure tokens, but more importantly, it gives you something else. You get a load of impulse draw, which is really nice when you have loads of mana.

  • Magda, Brazen Outlaw is just an artifact tutor, really. Though, there are plenty of treasure loving dragons you could also fish for. (:

  • Kalain, Reclusive Painter loves treasures, giving everyone big buffs.

  • Swashbuckler Extraordinaire can give anything that might be sensitive to dying double strike for a big final push. That, or just give one big boy double strike.

  • Their Number is Legion gets you lots of life and lots of tokens.

  • Necron Overlord is just a worse Ghirapur, but it’s still gonna hurt.

  • Street Urchin is the same idea as the above.

  • Armix, Filigree Thrasher could be some annoying removal, especially early game.

  • Hellkite Igniter is a big boy that, if left unblocked, could be a one hit kill.

  • Feedback Bolt is a big, powerful spell. To put it simply: ouch.

  • Fain, the Broker can make treasures, can make +1/+1’s, and can make little spooky boys. The best type of boys. Great utility and variety overall.

  • Rain of Riches is big. One cascading spell a turn, whichever one you want? Imagine dropping Feedback Bolt and cascading into Hellkite Igniter.

  • Captain Lannery Storm is innocent… Until you leave her unblocked like a dummy.

  • Concussive Bolt can be an easy kill, letting you get as much damage as you want through.

  • Dispense Justice is just like saying “Fuck your voltron.”

  • It seems you also like having and sacrificing constructs, so here’s a bit to let you do more of that, if you’d prefer to have a construct deck over a treasure token deck.

    • Shared Animosity will give constructs a boost, but there really isn’t a specific theme across creature types aside from that, and your constructs are better used for chump blocking or just turning them into scrap. Ignore this if you’re going for more of a construct tribal sort of thing.

    • Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip is a good card, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think it’s really necessary.

    • Rakdos Charm could be replaced with something better as far as artifact removal or graveyard hate. Nihil Spellbomb would be good graveyard hate and Generous Gift is just a good white staple.

    • Comet Storm is fun, but Crackle with Power is more fun.

If you are trying to make this more competitive then there is a bit I would cut from your deck. Here are some of my thoughts about some of the cards you are running that may need to more consideration to how your deck is crafted. You can see suggested cards towards the bottom.

Automated Artificer - Not that impactful of a card for your deck as most your artifacts that it could help you ramp are already cheap to cast, it doesn't have a good place here.

Jaxis, the Troublemaker - I'm honestly not sure what you are trying to copy here for value. Card feels like you want to get a Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip.

Kami of Terrible Secrets - The size of the body for cost situational card draw would make this a cut. Better cards to be running that can give you better value.

Karn, Living Legacy - While your welcome to run the card, this is more a meme then a serious play card I would imagine. It doesn't do anything impactful to the board and the mana rocks it generates are that useful to your build. Trying to go the keep +1 to get to ult seems like a hard reason to want to keep.

Jodah's Codex - This is expensive card draw to be playing and would not trying running this card unless you are trying a domain build where the draw becomes free.

Dragonspark Reactor - is a cool card, but I don't think you are using enough cards that are artifacts to warrant this in deck unless you make changes.

Ghoulish Procession - seems interesting, but you may want to trim this to make room for more artifact based cards to get better synergies.

Patchwork Automaton - If you wish to run this, then I would suggest adjusting your deck to run at least 20 artifacts that you can cast for the trigger.

Cards you may be interested in using are that are seem as "staples" to the rakdos artifact deck are: Experimental Synthesizer, Bloodtithe Harvester, & Voltage Surge. These offer you card advantages that work well with the anvil and also have some flexibility in their use.

From the new set I would say check out Garna, Bloodfist of Keld. This lets you get some extra burn to your opponent if you creatures die outside of combat, but you get extra card draw bonus for each creature that dies in combat. Please note that you could sacrifice your artifact creatures to Oni-Cult Anvil after damage step if they survive before leaving combat if you need that draw.

Last note I would have is you would likely want to be running 4 Oni-Cult Anvil if you plan on building around them. More of them in play is always better as long as you don't get hit by a Farewell.

If you have any questions about the suggestions or comments please let me know and I will try to help.

FrensDJ indeed it would. I did try using Sticky Fingers in this deck before posting it here, but I found it was a bit too slow. It didn't really do much after my hand was empty except when Dragonspark Reactor was on the field. I won't be running it for now, but that may change post rotation.
