Duke Ulder Ravengard
Legendary Creature — Human Noble Soldier
At the beginning of combat on your turn, another target creature you control gains haste and myriad until end of turn. (Whenever it attacks, for each opponent other than defending player, you may create a token that's a copy of that creature that's tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker they control. Exile the tokens at the end of combat.)
CamraMaan on Interaction between Duke Ulder Ravengard …

I have Ancestor Dragon and a bland 3/3 creature in play, and I use Duke Ulder Ravengard to give the 3/3 creature myriad. It attacks, triggering myriad and Ancestor Dragon. I then get to arrange the triggers with myriad resolving first, then Ancestor Dragon... the token copies will be in play before the Ancesstor Dragon trigger resolves, so the question is if the trigger on the stack will see the tokens, or if it was put on the stack too early to see them. Not sure how this is supposed to resolve, but I'm hoping I can find a way to gain the 1 life for each token.
Thanks in advance!

Have you had a chance to play-test your deck irl yet? I think you have a mixed variety of attack triggers, but some of them kind work against each other. Is there a particular direction you're interested in with Isshin, or do you have a specific budget in mind?
If you're interested in an Exalted route, I think you can trim out a decent chunk of creatures above your 4 cmc range. An effect that works pretty well with Isshin and also helps shore up one of the limitations of Exalted are the Myriad creatures. Myriad token copies are never declared as attackers, since they enter tapped and attacking, so you can still get your Exalted triggers & attack all opponents instead of just 1 at a time. You already have Duke Ulder Ravengard, & could lean more into it.
All Exalted Creatures in Mardu colors. The ones I think could be great in your deck:
-
Genasi Enforcers - Comes down early & can buff itself
-
Hammers of Moradin - A personal favorite in my Isshin deck. I like being able to tap down 2 creatures per board to make attacks a bit safer & more damaging.
-
Battle Angels of Tyr - The most expensive money-wise, but an excellent upgrade if you would want to go that route. More of a "catch up" effect.
-
Elturel Survivors - Can punch well.
-
Herald of the Host - Budget alternative to Battle Angels of Tyr.
If you decide to lean more into Myriad, you could also run effects like Corpse Knight, Impact Tremors, & Witty Roastmaster to squeeze even more damage out of all your Myriad tokens entering the battlefield.
I hope these suggestions are interesting and helpful. I'd be down to discuss potential cuts if you're interested.

OUT: Tibalt's Trickery
Good card, wrong deck for the moment. Could possibly slide back in if the deck feels powerful and I start playing against more powerful strategies.
such fun, much cmc. Gleeock was right; its too expensive.
Pulled one recently, and I think I'm going to refocus the build slightly on token creation. The Grand Abolisher effect is gravy. pairs well with Company Commander
One of our better cheap creature token creators, and the flying makes the floor significantly higher than at first glance
CONSIDERING:
This has gotta be amazing in a tokens build. The sac is a sneakily strong instant-speed effect (likely to go unnoticed), and it can be recurred with Sun Titan. Just not sure what to take out for it; hit me with some suggestions! My initial thought is Duelist's Heritage, which is sad because I love that card.

Cool to see an Exalted Voltron Isshin build. I don't see those as often as some of the go-wide strats. It looks like you have 2 copies of Akrasan Squire in your mainboard.
Although they aren't Samurai, Knight of Glory and Knight of Infamy can help round out your Exalted creatures.
I know they also aren't Samurai, but there are a handful of creatures with Myriad that work well with Isshin. Because of how Myriad and Exalted both work, you can technically have a Myriad-creature attacking solo. The Myriad tokens are created after the Declare Attackers step, so they don't count as declared attackers.
Some cool Myriad creatures:
- Hammers of Moradin - My personal favorite in my Isshin deck.
- Elturel Survivors
- Battle Angels of Tyr - A more expensive upgrade, but useful for playing "catch up"
- Herald of the Host - Budget Battle Angels
- Duke Ulder Ravengard
Lastly, Dolmen Gate and Reconnaissance can help round out your board protection for attacks.

Anger is a fantastic idea! I'll have to think hard about removing Shiny Impetus, as goad is one of my favorite mechanics and it fits both the theme and the mechanics of the deck well. I'll have to make a cut somewhere though, as you are correct, haste is an absolute must in this deck. My inclination points to Rose Room Treasurer, as it's a 4 mana do nothing the first turn its out and slowly recoups that value provided you have creatures entering and mana to blow on removal, which makes its floor-to-ceiling ratio pretty ludicrous (roughly in line with the risk/reward of having Anger in the list).
Duke Ulder Ravengard is definetely in there to high-roll on Winota triggers, and I like that if I play him for 6 he at least does something that turn. That being said, Zariel, Archduke of Avernus is some GAS. I think this is an easy swap, although I wanna play at least 1 game where I get Duke out to see how he feels before I switch him out of the list.

Duke Ulder Ravengard is fun.. He doesn't help your mana cost average any though. I've done good agro work with Zariel, Archduke of Avernus for hasty, pingy, easy ulty fun. Too bad you can cast Extus, Oriq Overlord Flip's flip side multiple times.

I've seen myriad work well with the Kamigawa dragons. Could Blade of Selves or Duke Ulder Ravengard find a spot in here?
