this looks like some tribal fun to me! I like using Thundering Tanadon in combination with Timberwatch Elf for a strictly worse Craterhoof Behemoth feel. +1

Thundering Tanadon might be another payoff you can look into. He has the same stats as Tangle Golem but comes with a built-in Trample bonus and is less reliant on the amount of forests in play to be brought out early-game.
Mortlocke on New hubs to be added

Hello legendofa,
I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

@scotchtapedsleeves: Don't worry. I'll upgrade myself hopefully soon enough; it just seems like mere lies at this point. & for the record; I plan to reconcile w/ someone else first; then I'll get to you after. :)
@GhostChieftain: Thanks. I will go ahead & clean up the Corpses that I failed to do for so long (Dammit WAR. XP)
However, I've still some questions needing answers. After that, I'll shut up; I mean, I've plans for a Morophon, the Boundless Human Tribal Deck, a Kykar, Wind's Fury Vorthos deck based upon a Documentary (God forbid.); a revised project about a Mono- "Impurities" Matter deck, & the last to mention, I'll mention at the end of this post:
-
Teferi, Timebender , Chopped. What is the fate of Nexus of Fate here? Is it worth replacing; or is the idea of Ral Zarek 's Ultimate actually worth a Gamble?
-
Two new Mu Yanling 's have been confirmed awhile back: Mu Yanling, Sky Dancer , & Mu Yanling, Celestial Wind . For Mu #1: if she makes it in, is she worth the readd of Prismatic Omen for Infinite Draw? or is Mu Yanling, Celestial Wind decent enough? I, mean, one of the Elspeth's Ultimates gives your Creatures Flying as an Emblem; something Archetype of Imagination should be able to remove, though it's for another time.
-
Golos, Tireless Pilgrim & Crucible of Worlds won't leave this deck any time soon. But in your thoughts, which Walker, in any combination of the following should be kept?
1: Wrenn and Six : Recurring Lands to your Hand is great, one damage is okay, but giving your Nonpermanents (Instants & Sorceries) Retrace? AWESOME!
2: Xenagos, the Reveler : Lots of Tokens? No problem! You'll be netting a lot of ramp in the form of & Mana of any combination! a 2/2 Satyr w/ Haste is good too! Oh, & it's not like you'll need to use that Ult of his; it's completely optional!
3: Kiora, the Crashing Wave : Why did I cut her? She stops damage heading to & coming from any target. Does both Card advantage & Mana Ramp at one time; & the thought of a 9/9 every turn is just fearsome.
Which would you give the Approval of, & Rejection of these three?
-
Heh. I just threw that in there as an alt. Solution in case the current Manabase might need minor improvement. Guess not... Ah well...
-
I ended up simply adding Mirari's Wake as a result of this. But I'd still like some thought on Night of Souls' Betrayal . Is it worth adding? I already have a list of Combos of Potential Consideration in my head as we speak; & one of the combos might include this...
FINAL: For the Omake/EXTRA: You stated I'd be better off using something like Niv-Mizzet Reborn , or even The First Sliv alongside Squee, the Immortal , & Food Chain in a deck which exiles stuff on purpose (See: Teferi's Protection , Academy Rector , Cards w/ Flashback, etc.). Past in Flames would be great here, but just doesn't have enough of what the rest of the colors can do. That's why I wanted to use Witch-Maw/Atraxa/Growth as they have the best of this in these colors. There is just one problem: Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is meant for more Counters-Support as well as a Supperfriends 99 Slot (Is there such a thing as a Partner Duo that does Domain/5-Colors? No.), & Witch-Maw Nephilim isn't even a Legendary Creature (I guess that's why Ravnica drove these beings to Extinction?), so I can't use it as a CMDR. This leaves us w/ only Partner Commanders unless you tell me different about a Niv-Mizzet that couldn't even beat Bolas, much less live to tell the tale of Bolas' demise; watched over by Ugin. As for The First Sliv , I'm not running Sliv Tribal, so the effect only applies to Sliv Queen 's Mama.
If you can prove me wrong about this; I won't have to use the following for ideas as Partners:
1: Thrasios, Triton Hero & Tymna the Weaver
2: Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker & Reyhan, Last of the Abzan
3: Ravos, Soultender & Thrasios, Triton Hero
4: Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa & Silas Renn, Seeker Adept
5: Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix & Tymna the Weaver
6: Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix & Ravos, Soultender
7: Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper & Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker
I wonder if any of these duos can handle a deck about exiling powerful stuff & even retrieving back your own when you shouldn't even do so...
After all this, It's all me now. Core 2020 will soon be released. Time to call Slivers "Slivs". Elspeth Tirel , Vivien Reid , & Mu Yanling to have a threesome, Bant Style (Yes, I made this up for reasons more meaningful than you'd think. Just look at the basic picture. XP), & if Birthing Pod , Vivien's Arkbow , Bow of Nylea , Wolfrider's Saddle , Verdurous Gearhulk & Thundering Tanadon (BTW, Vorinclex was mentioned in this card's Flavor Text; meaning he isn't against impurities after all. Why can he & Jin-Gitaxias just MAKE UP! We have Ezuri, Claw of Progress ! What's his lore when Ezuri became this?!) taught us anything; I need to prove Mono- can make a CMDR w/ no use of AEthermancy, doesn't need to "Craft" Life to invent it; Or Artifact creatures that kill Impurities (& Fliers; we have Birds of Paradise !); & such a deck will be made regardless on any regard. Time to introduce Nature to the rotten soup known as Peat that after millions of years of evolution (Another Quality.) became Slate, which is, in fact a Metal Composite, which can be used for true crafting of Artifice in .
(sigh... I'll end this now. I think I've gone too insane on the Grixis identity of mine.)
REALLY Sorry about this wall of binary crap. Might as well be the last time to be forgiven for anything... DX

I've always wanted to make some simple 40-card beginner decks to teach people how to play, and with the combination of me moving to a new school district and my girlfriend saying she is willing to learn, I have finally built them. I would like your opinions on them, and if they seem easy enough for a newer player to understand. (As a note, I tried to include a wide cast of keywords to emphasize the diversity of the game.)
Each deck has 17 lands and one rare, which the deck is themed around

These cards are not very effective/impactful and the only creature you want to pump is daggerdrone imp, which leads to an "all eggs in one basket" strategy. The better approach I think would be to play giant creatures and efficient spells and win back that life with lifelink. For example:
Thundering Tanadon or Putrid Leech + Vampire's Bite kicked.
Phyrexian Rager, Night's Whisper, Read the Bones would be examples of nice life loss cards.
Vault Skirge and Feast of Flesh or Feed the Clan would gain that life back up.

hi!
im the one that made the Reddit post!
Fun thing to see a deck inspired by your own! :)i can really recommend thundering Thundering Tanadon! it comes turn 2, but gives you space for a rancor, or a tinder wall, if you want to.
I think this deck really wants to attack turn 3 with a big fatty, and it would be another good one ;)
