Infectious Horror Discussion

Raime on Custom Nicol Bolas (Archenemy: Nicol Bolas)

TheWallinator74, the reason i've removed my Blood Tyrant from the box was exactly what you typed. He was growing too much on each game that i had him on the field and it started to get boring to my opponents. I'll take a look at Pulse Tracker and Infectious Horror.

I'll take a look on the "sweepers" as well but i'll replace Exsanguinate for Blood Tithe. I would love to put the God-Pharaoh in place of the Deciever but he's really expensive in my country at the moment so for now the Deciever shall be the walker card of this deck.

Lastly, this deck didn't have any mana problems in the matches i've played so i see no need to put other lands on it for now. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

An excellent creature you don't have is Blood Tyrant. He can get massive so quickly in this format, and losing one life every turn shouldn't be a big deal to you. I'm also personally a fan of Guttersnipe and Infectious Horror, though Pulse Tracker and Mardu Shadowspear achieve a smaller version of that ability if you want cheaper bodies.

Two spells you might consider for the deck are Cyclonic Rift and Mizzium Mortars. Their versatility in being both spot removal and boardwipes can be invaluable depending on the current boardstate. Also, Exsanguinate. It's a potentially game-ending spell on its own, being able to bring you back from the brink or being the finishing touch on a curbstomp victory. You might also want to upgrade Bolas to his God-Pharaoh card. Deceiver's +3 is not as useful as you may think.

As far as lands go, I like both Sunken Hollow and Smoldering Marsh. Their untap clause can be useful in three colors since they don't specify what kind of basics you need.

Nacatl War-Pride's and Infectious Horror's abilities trigger when they attack, meaning tokens created by myriad from Blade of Selves won't trigger them, as the enter already attacking. I don't know if that was the reason you included them, but just something to note.

Crayfish on Opinions of my personal starter ...

I've always wanted to make some simple 40-card beginner decks to teach people how to play, and with the combination of me moving to a new school district and my girlfriend saying she is willing to learn, I have finally built them. I would like your opinions on them, and if they seem easy enough for a newer player to understand. (As a note, I tried to include a wide cast of keywords to emphasize the diversity of the game.)

Each deck has 17 lands and one rare, which the deck is themed around

I added a touch of infect too in the form of

Flesh-Eater Imp

Reaper of Sheoldred

Infectious Horror

along with the additions of

Priest of the Blood Rite

Corpse Connoisseur

Buried Alive

My 3 go-to pulls with Buried Alive were: Priest of the Blood Rite, Corpse Blockade and Totem-Guide Hartebeest. But I like Flesh-Eater Imp in the place of Corpse Blockade depending on the board-state. Why Totem-Guide Hartebeest? It lets me tutor for commander protection in the form of Gift of Immortality
