BahamutPRME on Casual Greek Deck

So I'm trying to make a deck for my friend for his birthday and he likes Greek Mythology, specifically Poseidon, Hades, and Zues in this order. I'm wanting to stay in the Theros block and have 3 deck ideas but I need some advice and criticism because I don't want to make him a weak deck.

Here are what I've made:

The first one is using Heliod because I made this first and forgot there is a god that looks like zues but in MTG Heliod is the "Leader" or Highest ranking or whatever.

The second one is using Keranos and white humans so its 4 colors instead of 3.

The third one is sticking to the block and theme but also sticking to heroic and scry.

I have always been bad about including a safe amount of land in my decks so that is something i really need help with. I also wasn't sure if this was the best way to show the decks or if i should've just copy and pasted each text.

Thank you!

Sorry for the long post. Wasn't sure how to do this.

Not bad. There's definitely a lot of synergy here. Here are some cards you might want to consider: Mother of Runes for protection, Weathered Wayfarer and Solemn Simulacrum for some more land insurance/ramp, Geist-Honored Monk and Angel of Invention are both great token generators on bodies, Path to Exile and Oblation are both decent spot removal. I also very much like Grasp of Fate as it exiles something from each of your opponents. Mind Stone and Hedron Archive are both nice mana rocks that can turn into cards when you need them. Finally, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar has become a lot more affordable since it rotated out and works great with your deck.

Cards I would consider cutting since they are either not that good or too slow for what they do: Court Street Denizen, Frontline Medic, God-Favored General, Intrepid Hero, Precinct Captain, Requiem Angel, Twilight Drover, Call for Unity, Gideon's Intervention, Mobilization, Deploy to the Front.

Hello, really fun deck you've got going here, it's been nice to follow its continuous development. I have some thoughts, forgive me if they contain too many things you already know:

How is Curse of Predation working out for you? I feel the deck already has OK weenie support and that the slot could be better served making it more consistent by patching up its weak points

Some sets of possible drawpower alternatives:

Someone mentioned Recruiter of the Guard so I'd thought I'd point out the old-school Imperial Recruiter as a possible alternative to it for the sake of completion. Out of the cards in the current deck they each have exclusive access to the following creatures:

  • Guard: Fumiko, Mirri & Tireless Tracker

  • Imperial: Selvala & Windborn Muse

Finally, a somewhat radical & meta-dependent suggestion that would probably require other changes: Angel of Jubilation. It hates on sac engines trying to abuse your gifted tokens, but it conflicts with Selfless Spirit and the three fetchlands (And you might find that it comes in a bit too late due to its mana cost, both in terms of CMC & symbols)

As opposed to producing both Soldiers and Spirits maybe stick to just one type of token. My suggestion would be Soldier due to you benefiting from cards like Coat of Arms and Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. Now I know it's extreme to basically cut every single Spirit subtype creature from your deck, but you could replace them with so many more interesting Soldiers i.e.

Just to name a few. What do you think? Would you rather go toward just Spirits instead?

I really like what's going on with this deck!
It's hard to tell how everything will run without play testing, so sorry if any of the suggestions I have aren't relevant.

The ramp is set up nicely.
For the mana side of things: If you do end up changing your creature base a bit, I think swapping out a mana generator and the Ulvenwald Tracker (without capitalizing on clues via other cards, or even artifacts being out, I don't think investigate is worth it) for a Cryptolith Rite would give you some wiggle room to throw in other creatures.
For the draw side of things: I would be careful about too much ramp happening, since most of the enchantresses are mandatory draw. You might play it and find it necessary to cut one or two. Alternatively, adding in some more insurance beyond reliquary tower could help, such as Thought Vessel, Library of Leng, Venser's Journal, or Spellbook. If you find you want even more draw to happen, Alhammarret's Archive might have some nice potential with your setup.
Another search option if you find you need to be more responsive is Plea for Guidance.
I think any enchantress that runs green should have a Herald of the Pantheon.

You also might need a few more things to discourage/respond to board wipes (something like Fracturing Gust, which actually might be worth you using yourself, depending). I've always liked Karmic Justice, though having a Replenish handy is also helpful.

If you're feeling gutsy, Vernal Equinox would probably benefit you most, and something like Horn of Greed could maximize your ramp from both sides.

I think adding a few more creatures and cutting some other cards out would make the deck the right amount of aggressive, especially with as low of an average cmc as you're running for EDH (which I respect haha, I struggle getting it that low). If you do, putting in more auras and adding Greater Auramancy could also make your deck more threatening. It depends on how you want to win: it's easy enough to pillow fort with enchantments and hold out - alternatively, fast aggro can also be super powerful in enchantress. Regardless, I think Rancor is a must-have.
Some creatures to consider: Archetype of Courage, Heliod, God of the Sun, God-Favored General, Sigarda, Host of Herons, Ajani's Chosen, Harvestguard Alseids, Humbler of Mortals, Celestial Ancient, Custodi Squire, Tethered Griffin, Yavimaya Enchantress, Gaddock Teeg and Krond the Dawn-Clad. Speaking of Krond, he might be a good alternative to Dramoka, depending on what type of control you want.

If you're looking to cut anything, I'd be partial to starting with either: Dromoka's Command, Worldly Tutor, one of the exile enchantments, Wellspring, Oath of Ajani, and/or Abundant Growth.

Hope at least some of this helped! Happy deck-building!

CrimsonWings3689 on Daxos, the unbeatable

At your request I took a look and wanted to offer some suggestions to make this stronger. That being said I have no idea of what your budget is like or how your acquire cards. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

What I would consider adding:

Isolated Chapel - self explanatory

Reliquary Tower - should be in every deck as a means of preventing discard due to mana flood/screw

Vault of the Archangel - you're running a deck where the creatures are your win condition, it's in your colors, might as well have the ability to abuse lifelink/deathtouch

Serra's Sanctum - super pricey for a single card, but well worth it in this sort of deck

Luminarch Ascension - 4/4 flying angels for 1W is pretty big, drops early, can be a target for sure, but value is there.

Land Tax - any ramp is good ramp, and this is one of the best

Erebos, God of the Dead - Great for card draw, side note of preventing others from gaining life

Orzhov Signet - more ramp, color fixing

Aura of Silence - tax opponents playing enchantments/artifacts, doubles as a removal spell. 100% necessary

Blind Obedience - tax opponents, possible life drain. Tempo card to make sure that you get to hit more often than they do

Mortify, Utter End, Anguished Unmaking, Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares, Sudden Spoiling & Return to Dust - your instant removal package is abysmal, you have to be able to answer threats as they show up. Best case scenario, you make tokens with Daxos at the end of the turn before yours and you save your spot removal. Worst case scenario, you use the removal and make less tokens, but you don't die to a combo or something you can't deal with before your next turn. Can't stress enough how important Instants are in this format.

Cards I would remove:

Daxos's Torment - a 5/5 flier on your turn that can't block is mediocre outside of recovering from boardwipes, even then, it's too slow.

Defang & Pacifism- doesn't do enough. Cheap enchantment, should ideally be better removal.

Nyxborn Shieldmate - too weak of an effect. I get the "Enchantments matter" theme, but it's a slot better used for removal

God-Favored General - you don't have a reliable way to get evasion, so this will be chumpblocked and die more often than not. Daxos's effect is on cast, not etb, so it's a big gamble for a small effect.

Ghostblade Eidolon - far too expensive to Bestow, too weak to hard cast. If you want a double strike enchantment you should run Battle Mastery instead.

Celestial Archon - somewhat decent, but I have concerns about it being a worthwhile addition.

Blessed Spirits - too vanilla, gets big too slowly as it's based on cast so you can't abuse it with Daxos

Vivid Marsh & Vivid Meadow - you're running 2 colors, you don't need these. If you're going to run a land that ETB tapped, it might as well be one of the other numerous lands that comes in tapped that gives you an additional effect such as Scoured Barrens

Felt like taking a break from Ruins and got kind of bored.

Lords for soldiers: Field Marshal (generally avoided $3+ cards but this one's pretty sweet), Mobilization, Rhox Pikemaster, Veteran Armorsmith, Veteran Swordsmith

More soldier synergy: Benalish Commander

This combo: Preeminent Captain + Captain of the Watch

Increasing Devotion but for soldiers: Conqueror's Pledge

Other soldier stuff: Cenn's Enlistment, Evangel of Heliod, Timely Reinforcements, God-Favored General, Launch the Fleet, Militia's Pride, Precinct Captain, Raise the Alarm, War Falcon
