This was a non creature stax build and it did have the desired impact of getting my pod to largely disband... so, now the wounds have healed, some of us have got back together and restarted the $100 games. I had intended on building a creature based stax deck but got hyper-focused on legendary and, well, here we are - a "friendly" Abe deck using a ton of legendaries from recent sets. If you are looking for my Abe stax build. Look no further!

This is a tempo build. Abe is used as a tempo multiplier, me fast - you slow. Instead of rocks or dorks, the deck uses landcycling creatures that fetch lands early game and are still beneficial late game. It's legendary heavy to take advantage of cheap ($) cards and synergies with the aim of loading the battlefield with creatures, turning them sideways and winning through combat damage - old school. Dovescape does heavy lifting and should hit the battlefield by turn 5, follow up with Guile (Ethereal Usher will get either or The Circle of Loyalty if you need a non creature spell to complete the combo) to bring the game to a Hitchcockian end, which is also the reason for the modal counter spells. There are other little fun synergies as well. The maybe board offers alternate cards for this build, some didn't make it because they are too $$$ and others, while strictly better than included cards, push the deck over the $100.
