Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant

Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Praetor

Whenever you cast an artifact, instant, or sorcery spell, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy. This ability triggers only once each turn. (A copy of a permanent spell becomes a token.)

Whenever an opponent casts an artifact, instant, or sorcery spell, counter that spell. This ability triggers only once each turn.

In terms of EDH, Sen Triplets seems good. Esper has a lot of options for turning yourself into the archenemy without even using the Triplets which also make everyone hate your deck. Other mean EDH decks I have experience are helmed by Crosis, the Purger, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant (rated #1 for least fun among my play group), and Ephara, God of the Polis. Hope this helps. I have decks for all of these and will link them below.

Sterling0528, it's funny that you mentioned Might of Old Krosa - the earlier iteration of this deck was very much like your Atraxa Infect deck. Did you also run Become Immense, Rancor, and Stonewood Invocation? I had a similar win rate to yours - my game plan was just "make infect creatures go brrrrr". I assure you it took a lot of trial and error to make this list to what it is today, thanks for the compliment. The deck has come far, but it's not quite "compleat" yet - I really hope Wizards beefs up Infect with some new creatures that are just absurd.

I really do enjoy scriptures but our discussion has made me revisit it. Also, when I did run Toxic Deluge in an earlier iteration Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant did not exist. Both spells have their strengths, but stand alone Deluge stands to be a bit stronger. I can also potentially "save" more of my own board state if I can get enough +1/+1 counters on creatures. I did use Phyresis in this deck and never found it a worthwhile inclusion - the -1/-1 counters for just infect is just sub-par. I keep an original print Grafted Exoskeleton in foil in my no-trade binder just in case I get the itch to experiment with it again but that itch hasn't come. I honestly think the future (aka WOTC) will provide the solutions I seek for this deck. My vision for Atraxa is so close I can feel it. With the recent narrative of the game shifting to Phyrexians it's only a matter of time.

Do you think Sheoldred will make a return as a new card? What do you think Elesh Norn's new card would do?

Disappearing Act gives you reliable evasion - even if the spell fails because Krark is on the field, the cost of the cast allows you to bounce a permanent to the safety of your hand.

Also, Reliquary Tower, so you don't get forced to discard down if you keep bouncing spells to hand.

Deekah, Fractal Theorist can grant you some token swarm, especially if you copy them with Sakashima.

You should really find room for God-Eternal Kefnet if you can, because their wording specifies you cast the copy. It's also a may effect, so it doesn't give away your draw unless you decide to cast it.

Very high CMC, but another fun target for Sakashima in this deck might be Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant.

Less-high CMC, a fun combo with Krark is Melek, Izzet Paragon. Even if you fail the coin flip when you cast a spell from the top of your library, you still get to 'draw' the card! Also potential Sakashima shenanigans.

Rootha, Mercurial Artist can help make casts a bit more reliable - if you're willing to bounce them to hand, you can copy a cast spell before Krark potentially bounces it back to hand.

AscendedLandfalls: Hadn't considered Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant for this deck, but it would be pretty slick with all the bounce spells!

Wandering Archaic  Flip is a card that just goes everywhere haha, but this deck is very hard for me to change, and without having any synergies with the rest of the deck I can't justify it's inclusion.

Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy is a card I've considered a few times, but I think if I decide to add a mana doubling effect it'll be for my lands to better combo with Peregrine Drake & Great Whale.

Shalai, Voice of Plenty actually used to be in the deck, but I eventually cut it for Asceticism.. which in the end I cut for an additional counterspell lol. Shalai is really good though, it or Asceticism may yet make it back in.

     Thanks for the comment! =)

Changes, 19 Mar 2022: -1 Phyrexian Metamorph, +1 Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant. J-G just fits right in here. Plenty of artifacts, instants, and sorceries to quickly make his initial 7 mana worth it, and his second ability is exactly mean enough to be on-theme here. I was getting away from counter magic in this deck, but coming as a passive ability is just fine. The metamorph was selected for removal because J-G is gonna be doing part of his copying job himself, and Clever Impersonator does the same job slightly better if I really need it.
