If I use Gilraen, Dunedain Protector ability and exile Aragorn, Company Leader, when Aragorn comes back to the battlefield, will his second ability trigger, meaning I can also put the lifelink and vigilance counter on another target creature? Thank you for your responses :)

Have you considered these cards? Cloudshift, Ephemerate, Flicker of Fate, Justiciar's Portal, Slip On the Ring, Acrobatic Maneuver, Scrollshift, Distinguished Conjurer, Gilraen, Dunedain Protector, Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel

After you declare Aurelia as an attacker, you can respond to her triggered ability with a Cloudshift effect to flicker her, making her a new object. Then when she attacks during the 2nd combat, her ability triggers again to get you a third combat. The creatures who have cloudshift abilities are extra nice because the number of extra combats you get is only limited by the amount of mana you have available to spend on their abilities.

I feel so dumb, yeah, we can sequence it on their end step, and we can use Sigarda as protection already (as she also buffs Sisay in other contexts and protects our equipment).

I kind of like how the deck just kills you with Kiora and Gaea's Cradle, both of which can be tutored by Sisay, and in the case of Luxior, my equipment tutors as well. I've iterated on the combo in my research, realising we can use Gilraen, Dunedain Protector with Kiora, Master of the Depths to replace Emiel for the same combo, since we can flicker Kiora to untap Gilraen + Gaea's Cradle. I am kind of astounded that the theme (which is already ridiculous) can be extended here.

Puzzle Box is also tutorable via a few other tutors I have, so it also fits with the Maralen strategy. I view Maralen as a backup/protection since controlling your opponents draws isn't always a win-con, even if it locks the game.

Also DM's on this site is fine if you don't want to use Discord c:

As of Jun 28, 2023, updates have been made to improve playability of this deck.

Playtesting with 2 opponents (3-player games) had revealed that the deck needed multiple methods that allow me to sacrifice Toluz, Clever Conductor when:

  • I'm ready to; maybe because I want to scoop up all the cards being held in exile (ability of this commander)
  • I need to short-circuit an opponent's attempt to exile Toluz, Clever Conductor

The deck now contains three cards to enable creature sacrifice:

Other (Additional) Deck Changes:

New MTG creature cards have been released which allow the player to momentarily exile their own creatures:

That's powerful for this deck, so those two cards have been added. They work well with the deck's function of sending permanents into exile, turn after turn:

I'm eager to play this deck again.

How about Eerie Interlude? Gilraen, Dunedain Protector also seems in this deck's vein.
