Hey, just a head up, but Adrix & Nev, Parallel Lives, Annointed Procession, Mondrak, and Ojer Taq don't work with The Sixth Doctor's tokens but they do work with Romana (I tried to do the same thing til I was also corrected). Rule 111.12 covers this. A token that is the result of copying a permanent spell isn't "created" and doesn't trigger any effects like the cards above that care specifically about creating a token.

You're after more effects like Lithoform Engine and some of the stuff like Clara Oswald from your maybeboard.

I personally run Peri Brown as my Dr.'s companion so exact same colors and strategy still, but feel free to check out my list for ideas (and rule 111.12 actually typed out). Upvotes on any of my decks are appreciated. Dopplegangbangers - Historic Flash Convoke Copies

Just a heads up. Doubling Season, Adrix & Nev, and any other effects you have that care specifically about a token being created have ZERO synergy with the 6th Dr. (but they do work with Romana). Tokens that are the result of copying a permanent spell are treated more like clones that copy everything they can including cmc but they aren't "created" like a typical token. Rule 111.12 for reference (or you can check my deck's description, link below).

You're after effects that either trigger your Dr. additional times or that copy his tokens after the fact. Things like Strionic Resonator, Lithoform Engine, Esika's Chariot, Roaming Throne, Clara Oswald, etc.

Flash and untap enablers are also pretty bonkers with the Dr. since he'll make a copy every turn you cast a historic. I also have a list of flash, untap, and trigger/token copiers in my deck's description for easy reference.

Have you considered running Peri Brown as your Dr's Companion? With Keruga as a Companion forcing everything to cost 3+, it really drives up the avg. cmc of the deck. Running Romana drives the cmc up even higher since anything you're copying essentially costs 1 more. Just a suggestion, but Peri gives consistent access to convoke which helps to both ramp and color fix, something I think the deck would benefit greatly from.

The Sixth Doctor / Peri Brown is something I built recently. It does provide a lot of value out of the Command Zone but the challenge for me was the consistency of the deck while combining so many themes (flash, convoke, historic tribal, and ways to copy the Doctor's trigger or tokens). Hopefully someone is still following this... I have a suggestion for hubs.

"Historic Matters" - I know legendary matters is already a thing but there are a lot of commanders and cards that care about historic spells specifically and they're all pretty build-around. Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage, Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain, Peri Brown, and a bunch of other stuff out of Dr. Who.

Sorry if the title doesn't initially make sense...

If The Sixth Doctor's non-legendary token has already resolved and entered the battlefield and I copy it with an effect like Esika's Chariot. Does that token copy the cmc since the Dr's token has that characteristic from rule 111.12? I'm assuming 111.3 covers this, but the example given is literally the opposite and is the result of copying a token without any cmc, so I want to double check before misquoting a rule (The Sixth Doctor / Peri Brown has led to a few friendly arguments already lol).

Another variation of this is "the first xxxx you cast" (i.e. Peri Brown). In this instance it checks your history for the entire turn for that action (So Peri Brown counts herself if she was cast).
