To save on cards i should use MANY of the cards i obtained for Cataclysm March 2024 as all those have a strong counters theme, that stack of cards it basically already a CF3 prototype, so if that ends up being fun then make that mainly what CF3 will be.

CF3 should be the same size as CF2 or smaller (probably smaller, I should cut down the Colorless auto given each player significantly for CF3 to lets say just 10 mana fixing cards), and make the two and tri color sections smaller as well. Unique and wacky deck archetypes. Also +1/+1 counters / counters theme were absent from CF1 and 2, so it should be in CF3, with ikoria ability counters and lots of modified keyword cards too. Willowdusk, Essence Seer may have his chance to shine in this one. Maybe Green can focus on Hydras as a subtheme, and (make sure to include some infinite and game winning for green as well) combos with hydras given +1/+1 counters will already be a thing.

EVERY “Leyline of” card is in CF3 (even the ones whose abilities dont jive well with the rest of the set, just send it and see what happens, as well as other decent cards with “Leyline” in their name), just because. I want to see what theyre capable of and many have dramatic impact on the game state adding to CF3’s bizarre and unpredictable nature. This also helps make CF3 feel more like its own “set” by having all of these as a cohesive theme.

Red stax theme (mainly for with Norin the Wary) for fun unique deckbuilds. While Red was mainly tokens / copies / ETBs in CF1, and was “power matters” in CF2, Red Stax should make Red more unique, degenerate (but interesting to deal with / play around..but Red in CF3 will still make use of damage doublers/triplers that were prominent in CF2, just mainly different cards being used for that purpose) for CF3 (i just need to make sure i include enough colorless stax as well which Red stax decks would rely on). Likewise, I should make colors in CF3 what they are NOT in CF1 or 2. So, a strong (non-cat) token or +1/+1 counter theme should work for White in CF3, since White was more of a Stax color / was only support for tokens in CF1. Black should focus on Enchantments which means with Anikthea Hand of Erebos as the main focus for that, id need at least some enchantment support in White and Green. And Green and Blue should be ????? Blue was tokens/copies in CF1 and in CF2 was krakens/big blue/omnipotence+enter the infinite/combo strats. So, Blue needs a new face for CF3 to be determined..maybe Blue will just be a filler color for CF3 supporting the other colors strats in the tri color commanders it falls under. instead of tokens actually White and Green (and a few cards in other colors depending on commander options) can be +1/+1 counter themed? I didnt really have a strong +1/+1 counter theme in either CF1 or CF2, and counter theme in general would have good synergy with proliferate / superfriends, etc. basically look at the cards we used for the 2023 June Cataclysm and get inspiration for themes from there? Be sure to put some counter hate in the set as well (mainly in Black) like vampire hexmage, etc.

MAYBE storm deck archetype

Just a list of some potential cards for a possible Commander Forever 3 in the future. While CF1 is little guys and CF2 was high cmc guys (and both of those sets relatively normal in terms of power level), CF3 will have no theme in regard to converted mana cost and will likely have many rare powerful cards, and should be as sweaty gimmicky shenanigans as possible (and perhaps the most multiplayer oriented set among the three) - example - Red Elemental Blast, Pyroblast, Hydroblast, Suspend, Autumn’s Veil, etc. yes, even banned cards like Black Lotus, Tinker, and Primeval Titan are allowed in CF3 (ill aim to have one banned card per mono color for an attempt at balancing). Broken disgusting cards like Tinker, Blightsteel Colossus are welcome in CF3. Probly include some DND, LOTR, final fantasy commander worthy cards too to contribute to CF3’s random wacky feel. Also quirky cards like Time Spiral, Mind Over Matter, as well as chaos theme cards for multiplayer shenanigans / shenanigans in general, like Knowledge Pool, Confusion in the Ranks, Grip of Chaos. And should include many “each player” / Will of the Council vote type cards for multiplayer fun. And even completely degenrate, devastating, nasty cards like Armageddon and Apocalypse - its a strat too, I want someone to use cards like that to win (we didnt come here for fun we came here to win at any cost!)

Lots of planeswalkers for Atraxa / Commodore Guff / other superfriends archetype. Possible archetype / more cards related to cards you control but dont own for chaos deck archetype

Ill try to not overlap with CF1 / CF2 as much as I can, outside of stuff like demonic tutor, etc but even staples like those ill try to avoid overlap & sub it similar but unique different cards so CF3 feels real fresh & its own set and gets us playing cards weve never played before. Thus Esika, Ziatora, etc should NOT be in CF3, find other 5 color commander options (preferably new ones printed in 2024-2026 ish if CF3 is worked on mainly in 2026 to be completed maybe like 2027).

Also use many cards from Commander Legends / Masters sets, especially recent ones

Proliferate +1/+1 / counters themes in all colors - including Flying counters and such from Ikoria? And incubator tokens (as well as many other staples) from MoTm? And by virtue of that CF3 will feature more artifact subtheme in EVERY color than CF1 / CF2

Themes:

White: +1/+1 counters

Blue: proliferate, main support color for superfriends?

Black: Black Enchantments + maybe discard theme as well? i didnt do Black discard “each opponent discards” / discard theme commanders in CF1 or CF2. Lilianas caress type effects actually also synergize well with Black Enchantment theme. A 45 - 45 ish split on those 2 themes w the rest Black support for other archetypes. This means I should also include commander worthy madness and cycling and connives cards.

Red: Chaos archetype, Stax archetype

Green: +1/+1 counters

I should include all Miracle cards for fun, & many transformer cards

Need to put many planeswalkers & legendary creatures in each color

In CF3 banned cards are allowed, yes this makes it less “official competitive” because I want games to be wacky in CF3.
