Omniscience + Acererak the Archlich is a neat combo for repeatable venturing and win condition, but Omniscience is going to be difficult to cast. Consider Resurgent Belief as a way to cheat Omniscience onto the battlefield with reanimation after looting it? Get Omniscience into your graveyard with Entomb , Unmarked Grave and Vile Entomber . These cards can also trigger Sefris if you instead get a creature such as Reassembling Skeleton .

Another direction to consider for Omniscience + Acererak combo is an infinite mana combo of Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake which also can be repeatable venturing with any creature who ventures when it ETB since Deadeye can infinite blink it. Could include a card that draws when it ETB such as Baleful Strix that way you could infinite blink Strix to draw Omniscience + Acererak, to cast them with infinite mana to combo. Strix is a creature that's nice with Tortured Existence to recur to cast/draw again/dies again and has deathtouch defense.

Reanimate the Deadeye + Drake combo with Victimize by sacing Reassembling Skeleton .


One of the advantages Sefris has as Commander is he can be a repeatable source of venturing. Because of this you need less venturing from other cards. Consider cutting some clunky cards that venture and replace them with creatures who loot for more venturing with Sefris?

Consider repeatable loot? Can loot on an opponent's turn to potentially venture with Sefris.

Other loot:

Master of Death can be repeatable surveil 2 as well as a creature who can return to your hand at your upkeep. Both these abilities can enable Sefris to trigger more venturing. Master is good with looting since he's a creature to discard to trigger Sefris and he returns to your hand to do it again.

I had another deck concept this morning: Use the cascade from Flamekin Herald to cast Resurgent Belief for a big pile of enchantments. I'm looking for some direction to go forward with this idea. Budget isn't a serious concern, but it should match the competitiveness. I don't want to put a $300 card in a casual jank deck. Similarly, I tend to play toward the lower end of the competitive EDH scale. I like to win, but I like to mess with the game and try new things just as much. Uniqueness is more important than victory, as long as victory is possible.

Right now, I see two ways to design this thing. First is straight enchantment combo, something like Havoc Festival + Wound Reflection that just wins the game. Second is Voltron, using something like Eldrazi Conscription and Rage Reflection .

I'm also not sure where to go with the commander. I'm looking hard at a partner set. Sets that support the Voltron line are Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar + something , or Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder + pretty much anything at MV 2. Akiri, Line-Slinger is on color and MV 2 for the cascade, but the ability doesn't offer much. So basically, I need a partner set that includes:

  • a very cheap (MV 2) option
  • + color identity
  • something that reasonably interacts with enchantments or Voltron

The commander consideration is also related to how the enchantments are getting into the graveyard in the first place. There aren't any huge, game winning enchantments with cycling. Wheels give away free cards in this setup. Self-mill might be the way to go.

Also, if anyone has any specific card suggestions to help the core concept, please throw them in, too. This deck is more or less a Living End variant for enchantments in EDH.

councilofautumn - Yes! Sythis, Harvest's Hand , Sanctum Weaver and Resurgent Belief , probably. Not sure what to replace yet. I'd like to take more reserve list cards out of the deck (so I'm less anxious about carrying it around), but the ones that are left are fairly important.

Resurgent Belief to bring back some of these enchantments, Outlaws' Merriment is always a blast, for dealing damage to players, AEther Sting is a fun card because a lot of your creatures won't be cast is fun, Burning Earth is a slightly worse Manabarbs .

Card advantage isn't hard, Land Tax , Outpost Siege , Experimental Frenzy , etc. are great options, ofc Smothering Tithe , etc. seems great too for ramp!

Nice updates and having lots more enchantments should really improve gameplay with Tuvasa. The update also has reduced the mana curve to a better 2.5 avg. You really should get some kind of manabase in place even if just a temporary one to get to 99 cards. You currently have room for only 31 lands which is low; you may have to make some cuts to add more lands.

Looking at the color pie, white is the primary color, but I think this is deceiving since green is overall much more important than white especially to have in the early game for land auras, enchantresses and land ramp spells. The majority of the cards that are making white the largest part of the pie are the four and five drops that are double white casting cost which you want to cast later in the game. Green as primary can help to get white and blue much more than white can get the other colors.

The amount of sources of each color from lands in the manabase is really wanted equally to consistently cast Tuvasa early, but if you're relying on budget lands then more green as well as green dual lands than the rest of the colors/Azorius duals will help to get the other colors. Canopy Vista , Prairie Stream and Rimewood Falls are budget dual lands for Farseek to search for one of them to help color fixing.

Modern Horizons 2 has a new enchantment enchantress, enchantment mana dork, enchantment reanimation and reprinted enchantment tutor: Sythis, Harvest's Hand , Sanctum Weaver , Resurgent Belief and Sterling Grove . All these are excellent upgrades, but unfortunately currently their prices are not budget. Watch them and wait a month after MH2 is released, June 18th. Currently the hype of most MH2 cards is pushing prices through the roof, but these prices will not hold when tons of product has been opened.
