Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools Discussion
Pikobyte From the few games ive played so far, deck seems pretty control-y, with Butcher of Malakir and Dictate of Erebos out, can pretty much boardwipe as long as i have some tokens or something. Having Spore Frog and Siren Stormtamer out can stop most things from what ive seen.
As for budget, I might not be able to afford some of the more really expensive cards but i have a bit of pocket change. On my list to add i have Caustic Caterpillar , Buried Alive and i thinking of adding Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools as well. any other suggestions?

Yeah, Demonic is just an auto-include. If you have it or are willing to purchase it, chuck it into every black deck you have. That said . . .
Mairsil, the Pretender , Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools plus Kodama of the East Tree , Korvold, Fae-Cursed King , and Kenrith, the Returned King are the black decks I own. Maybe one of those tickles your fancy.

If you are able to get the ultimate, Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools also gets you her.
And even if you can't, soft bodies and card advantage are always well worth the efforts.

Looks like mean ol' Torgaar is back at it again!
Unfortunately, the ruling on Wound Reflection only activates if the opponent lost life. With the wording on Torgaar, the life total of the target player simply becomes half, not actually dealing damage or any loss of life.
Another mean card to look into is Raving Dead , does the same kind of thing as Virtus the Veiled . I run it in a mutate deck and I can say giving either of those creatures a power bump and trample is mean! So something like Loxodon Warhammer or Shadowspear .
Another route to look at Torgaar, Famine Incarnate is to consistently stabilize yourself at 20 with his ability. So things like Conjurer's Closet are an interesting option to keep at 20 in the late game.
A different way to go about this is to go with some instant speed or enchantment abilities that trigger when your creature dies. You already have Kaya's Ghostform in the deck, some other cards could be Supernatural Stamina , and Abnormal Endurance . These also can double up on some of your other creature ETBs if you play these in response to the creatures activation of self sacrifice or a board wipe.
While a little pricy Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools also seems to want to do what the deck wants, creating tokens, sacrificing them, and getting out your commander from the command zone!

why: i hate magical Christmas land and don't wanna get stuck in that mind state, Endrek helps the "stax" aspect, feeds Skullclamp , Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools , Smokestack , Ashnod's Altar , Phyrexian Altar . and now Sadistic Hypnotist
why: Sheoldred is 7cmc really late game and doesn't truly help the deck along, Profet93 I think I now see what youre getting at, she's not weak in the deck, she's just not efficient. I have Smokestack for this slot. Secondly Phyrexian Reclamation can make up for the recursion half of her. That being said, Sadistic Hypnotist because the mans a fucking baller. Also because i'm gonna love ripping hands enough said.

Opened quite a few faded foils as of late. The worst probably being Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools where the text looks like they were running low on ink.

Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools is a swap slot. currently put him in as there is good synergy for creature creature via thrulls, and the sac theme of this deck, which he would help with, while helping with card draw. Liliana, Dreadhorde General would do the same trick, slightly more powerful, but at a higher curve.

More cuts/updates through discussion for more experienced players in this playstyle
why: Gearhulk is spot removal, a big recurable body, interacts with half the deck through trawler and gains life, Reaver costs cards and isn't a guarantee
why: The deck is fairly low to the ground as is, most spells are double costed secondly does nothing for the cost of the artifacts in he deck which are at this point in the build the backbone as such due to minimal value was cut for graveyard control, I choose the lantern over Tormod's Crypt for several reasons, those being; (1) the foil art is gorgeous, (2) hits all opponents yards at once, (3) exiles something on ETB and draws a card
why: This one was really hard, and is still really hard for me to justify. what i like about Szat is that it better synergies with Skullclamp , gives me fodder for Grave Pact , Ashnod's Altar , and Phyrexian Altar . Szat in an ideal situation allows me to draw up to 4 cards with clamp at no loss to a board state compared to Haruspex which is more defensive in terms of boards wipes spot removal etc. I still feel that Tevesh offers more to the deck however thus the decision
Why: the "oh shit" factor
