Some commander focused thoughts on the main set since my last little blurb:

Rigo is a cool Tymna the Weaver/Edric, Spymaster of Trest type card that finally gives Bant a token commander.

Bootleggers' Stash will be quite a strong commander card (outside of the highest power levels). It's green, so it's probably coming down on T4, and all of your lands basically become storage lands that can be cashed in right away. I think folks doubting the card need to remember that similar things were said about the fairly similar Old Gnawbone, and that turned out to be quite strong. I think Bootleggers' Stash is a bit stronger than Old Gnawbone since it avoids more removal and doesn't require the combat step.

Shadow of Mortality wins the "best art in the set" award in my opinion. I don't fully agree with the Death's Shadow comparisons since it only ever hits for 7. Feels more like Scourge of the Skyclaves to me.

Seeing Hideaway come back is really cool and fits the set's flavor well. They all seem fairly strong in the right decks, but the red one randomly being 5-color kind of sucks for commander.

Slip out the Back is a cool take on Reality Ripple. It is more narrow, but it has the added benefit of pumping a creature.

All of the ascendancies seem flavorful, the jund one being my favorite

Professional Face-Breaker is an auto include in every mono red commander deck. Most R/X decks will want this as well.

Topiary Stomper could very well put creatures like Wood Elves and Farhaven Elf out of business in non-tribal, non-sacrifice focused decks.

Angel of Suffering is going straight into my Balthor the Defiled reanimator deck. She is very reminiscent of Vilis, Broker of Blood but provides card advantage at a different angle.

Body Launderer is probably a better piece in the Karmic Guide combo than Reveillark due to the cheaper mana cost. That being said, I'll probably just run both in my Tymna the Weaver/Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools deck.

Overall, the set has a couple intriguing individual cards, but I still don't find the set that interesting from either a game play or flavor perspective. Since a fair chunk of the precon legends have been spoiled already, I had originally planned to skip most of the set/precons and just pick up a couple individual cards. But this morning a yet-to-be-spoiled jund legend from the commander precon was leaked. I nearly spit out my tea when I saw the leak this morning. So I guess I'll be grabbing that precon, or at least that particular card if the rest of the deck isn't worth it.

Based on some of the spoilers/leaks so far, I suspect the monetary value in the precons will come from the new white cards (barring an expensive reprint...looking at you Dockside Extortionist).

Ao, the Dawn Sky and Junji, the Midnight Sky both seem perfect for a Teysa deck. Maybe Kaya, Geist Hunter depending on how much you rely on token generation. Lolth, Spider Queen and Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools are both insane in any aristocrats kind of deck. Prowling Geistcatcher might also be worth a look.

mlequesne thanks! and you're correct; that's why i've got all those burn spells like Acidic Soil. Vicious Shadows is still amazing tho since it procs off of all the deaths of tokens created by both Hostility and Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools. it can become quite the political asset when faced with boardwipes and archenemies!

If I use Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools -10 ability with only 10 loyalty on him will the ability bring Tevesh back into play?

Coward_Token, TypicalTimmy: Ophiomancer intensifies

Just noticed Wash Away. One mana to stop a scary commander and a reasonable cleave cost which turns it into Cancel means that it could definitely make a splash in commander.

I kind of wish they would've just reprinted Soul-Guide Lantern instead of creating Lantern of the Lost. They are so very similar, but former is still better 90% of the time and approaching $3.

Kaya is pretty interesting with her -2 Anointed Procession. Might be worth a spot in my Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools/Tymna the Weaver aristocrats deck.

I definitely see about 12 cards from this set that could make their way into various commander decks that I am currently running. That's higher than most sets.

brandonplaysmagic -- Thanks!! I always like to try and make things a little bit more interesting than having to play against Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, Yarok, the Desecrated, Kess, Dissident Mage and Golos, Tireless Pilgrim (RIP) decks all the time. Experimenting with lesser known commanders is so fun!

Diamanacle -- Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools is an amazing card and would be a fantastic Rakdos sacrifice commander. I don't have a Vial Smasher the Fierce but he seems super good, too! Exile cards always seem to cost a bit more, CMC-wise, which is why I opted for cheaper removal like Terminate or ones that could hit multiple types like Bedevil and Feed the Swarm. It does sound like a good, though. I'll add some to the maybeboard and see which ones I have laying around. As for tutors, they'd be great and I do have a one Demonic and Vampiric Tutor along with a Diabolic Intent in other decks. I was already debating adding them in, but... I have no idea what to cut. Suggestions?

As for copying this deck, have at it! If you end up posting it on here just mention me as an inspiration or something. I'd love to see it!

Any thoughts on Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools or Lolth, Spider Queen Interesting thing with latter is, that with the death-trigger-doubler you could ultimate her the turn she comes out.

But i would disagree with your thoughts on Ink-Shield. I mean, 5 mana isn’t pretty cheap but can’t count how often it helped me through dangerous situations or even was part to prepare the final blow. The thing is, for each one dmg you prevented, you create a 2 power flier… you can attack with them to deal lethal dmg or clamp ‘em or so. I count it as a very powerful tool.

Maybe you can give me your thoughts on my Teysa-rebuild. I tried to make it more streamlined.
