I think Staff of Compleation is a strong usage for the slot, but as others have said, there's also some other cards that are direly needed, like the aforementioned Signet.

I prefer the current method as it feels a bit more red.

How does Leyline of the Guildpact interact with devoid creatures? Does it make them become not colorless anymore?

Brainstealer Dragon is a bit on the end of the curve, but seems definitely worth it. Also, Dark Ritual. Never a bad time for a Dark Ritual.

I think the worst thing you left out is Bone Miser. My black heart sobs at this exemption.

How does this look?

Oh, I like this. I really like this. Only notes I'm taking are that the P/T is a bit low for a rare. A 7/7 trampler with this ability feels rare, but a 6/6 feels uncommon. Kind of a nitpick though, I love flavorful color bends (even if my friends eat me alive for it)

As happens often, I was brewing a custom card late at night for my Legacy Horizons 2 set and accidentally created a monstrosity.

In case you can't tell what the issue is, think Faithless Looting into Enter the Infinite or Expropriate. Loop ad infinitum.

I. Uh. Am normally decent at fixing broken cards I've made, but I'm at a bit of a loss for this one. How could I change this card to make it better?

I want it to stay in the same design space as Animate Artifact, Animate Wall, and Animate Dead, as well as this other card I made.

Honestly, while I understand the game design ideas behind it, I'm still sad to see vanillas go, and still make them regularly in my custom cards. I guess you don't know what you're missing until it's gone.

Firja's Retribution seems like a perfect fit. Also, Ocelot Pride (maybe) and Bishop of Wings. Leyline of the Guildpact is another potential addition.

Twisted Justice immediately stands out to me as an iffy card for the Mimeoplasm that could probably be replaced. I see the draw of maybe sacrificing your own creature, but it still feels like the advantage and speed you'd get from Glarb would be better.

And yeah, agreed with the rest of these folks that Temple Bell needs to go. You'd get so much more value off of the Haymaker man.

I was thinking Michael Crichton wrote some, but his earliest book was published six years after Planet of the Apes.

I did find a cool piece of trivia that the first twist of "it was all in their head the whole time", as well as the first ever twist ending in a movie, AS WELL AS BEING CONSIDERED THE FIRST EVER TRUE HORROR FILM, was The Cabinent of Dr. Caligari, released in 1920!!!

Make another spicy powercrept version of an old card, made for a new era.

Basal Thrull and Blood Pet are probably good options.

sergiodelrio yeah I misread the first half of its ability at first. It's still really strong as it never forces you to bounce itself. (I thought you could choose not to bounce the other creatures)

Iridescent Vinelasher and Mistbreath Elder seem absurdly powercrept. Mistbreath especially.

Like uhh, I usually like my one-mana 2/2s to have drawbacks, not bonuses ;n;
