Always Split The Party

As with any D&D party, they accumulate a ton of weapons along the way. Such is the inspiration for this deck. This deck is meant to get at least one of the party members (or hopefully multiple) suited up with equipment and to fight their way through our opponents monsters.

Each of the different party members are meant to bring a little something different to the table, but they are all good targets for equipment (besides Silas Renn, Seeker Adept because I use his trusty robot friend Armory Automaton).

Noteable Items

As with almost any deck, there are a few items that make this deck tick. Below are some of the more noteable items that might be useful.

Akiri

Akiri, Line-Slinger is great because she does not even need the equipment attached to her in order to be buffed. With some slight protection and evasion makes, Akiri makes for a great commander for equipment decks, and her colors are very relevant to the strategy in general.

Silas

Silas Renn, Seeker Adept is namely a commander of mine for the colors and some slight recursion for major artifacts that get destroyed. Most of the time, his friendly robot friend Armory Automaton is the body that gets all the equipment put on it.

Dani

Danitha Capashen, Paragon is an enabler for the rest of the party, but she has many relevant keywords that make her a decent target for equipment. The life gain is especially pertinent in certain matchups.

Kemba

Kemba, Kha Regent is in the deck to keep it fresh. This deck is all about equipment, and sometimes it gets boring doing the same thing every game. Kemba provides a different outcome for the things the deck already wants to do, which creates variety.

Elsha

Elsha of the Infinite is a fabulous card draw engine and enabler for the deck. Many of our non-creature, non-land cards are low CMC, so this provides an opportunity to play many cards in a turn off the top of our deck, gain a lot of prowess triggers, and make a big strike.

Gwyn

Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale is an enabler for a different playstyle in the deck. With her, it’s easy to uit her up with all the equipment, but to get the full benefit, she needs her friends to be armed as well. Equip the whole party and draw a bunch of cards.

Equipment Support

Many of our equipment are fairly cheap, and so when they are enabled by some like Sram, Senior Edificer or Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain, then the deck can start to draw so many cards.

Paying full price for equip costs can be such a bore. Our murder heroes want to get in there as fast as possible! Cards like Puresteel Paladin, Leonin Shikari, and Sigarda's Aid are just a few cards that help to move our equipment around easily.

Running out of equipment to put on the battlefield? Stoneforge Mystic and Stonehewer Giant are here to save the day by tutoring out the equipment we need for the current board state.

Artifact Support

As a consequence of playing a lot of equipment, we happen to have a lot of artifacts laying around on the battlefield, so we might as well get some addition use out of them. A card like Storm the Vault   helps us to ramp quickly to pay for all the equip costs. Cards like Mystic Forge and Karn, Scion of Urza help us to draw through our deck to find more artifacts. Finally, cards like Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge assist with finishing up the game.

This is becoming part of my collection of decks that I am setting up. My goal is to have a 6-sided dice and just roll each game for which deck to play. Check them out what decks I bring to the table!
