Battle Box Update #1!

The decks in this update function exactly the same as the core decks and previous expansion, and are meant to be played all together. Smash any two decks together, add the set of extra cards, and there's your deck for the game!

For the second expansion, I've rounded out the remaining guilds that I did not build in the first expansion. If you read the primer for the core Battle Box decks, you know I designed each deck using generically powerful cards that I enjoy and want to play, and that the decks tend toward being a mix of control/combo. I took a similar deckbuilding approach with these decks, but for additional flavor I drew some inspiration for each guild from previous decks I have had (or still have) using combos in those colors. The combos for the new decks are as follows:

Boros: Aurelia, the Warleader + Helm of the Host - Infinite combat steps/creatures

Golgari: Herd Baloth + Ivy Lane Denizen - Infinite tokens/+1/+1 counters

Gruul: Sekki, Seasons' Guide + Terror of the Peaks - Infinite ETBs/damage

Orzhov: Chain of Smog + Professor Onyx - Infinite spell copies/life loss

Selesnya: Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista - Infinite damage/life gain

As usual, there's a bit of redundancy built into each deck to support the combos, with backup pieces being available for most combo cards. In addition, some of the decks have sub-combos that either happened to interact well with the theme, or have one of their pieces already in the main combo. For instance, in Selesnya, Heliod, Sun-Crowned also combos with Spike Feeder for infinite life gain.

As with the previous expansion, there are absolutely no duplicate cards between these decks and the others in the Battle Box, making every expansion compatible with each other.

For deck selection I've moved on to using the website random.org to randomly select between the now 16 possible decks.

This will likely be the last expansion to the battle box, unless WOTC gives me 3-color partners. As with every deck though, the list is always undergoing refinement and tuning. Keep tagging me in your Battle Boxes and I hope this idea inspires you to build your own!
