No Arasta of the Endless Web? It doesn't trigger off every spell like Dragonlair Spider, but the number of instants and sorceries in a game will still net you a good chunk of spiders.

Hi there

Here's my take on your Deck
I think you got about 10 ramp spells which seems fine, if they would all be very reliable. Bosk Banneret,Deathrite Shaman and Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip are designed for a very specific kind of deck to be a reliable source of ramp. 33 lands are also low in my opinion, i usually have 37/38 lands im decks. Carddraw spells are very low in this deck. in my opinion i would add about 10 carddraw spells. With your ramp more reliable and a higher rate of land-cards and carddraw-cards to guarantee your landdrops, you should be able to get your creatures out.

I get the feeling that your deck also needs to be more focused. you have the treefolk tribal strategy on the one side and the token strategy on the other side. if you focus only on one of these two you get the full potential. Here are the links for those two strategies on EDHREC.

For tokengenerators i'd like to point out Arasta of the Endless Web, Arachnogenesis and Spawnwrithe because they work well with your commanders.

Tendershoot Dryad dosen’t make tokens that are too big, but will quickly fill your board since it makes a Saporling at each upkeep.

Bramble Sovereign will let you make tokens of your creatures which can be good for your non legendary ones.

Arasta of the Endless Web is similar to tendershoot deyad, giving you a wider board quickly.

Quartzwood Crasher gives you some big tokens depending on damage you deal.

Aurelia, the Warleader is just a good add in for double combats, giving you more attack triggers with your commander.

I would add some Domri, Anarch of Bolas to help with your mana, buffing your dudes, and giving you some interaction once those bad boys are down.

The curve is a bit awkward, I would take the opportunity to change up the creature base slightly so your turns have more presence. A great starter would be another 1 drop, Pelt Collector is sweet for that and fits your deck well.

Drop the Dragonlair Spider for Arasta of the Endless Web.

25 lands is a bit much, I believe 23 to 24 is plenty, Kessig Wolf Run is awesome and always fun, keep that, maybe add a 2nd to make sure you see it more often? Don't be afraid to have some basic lands in there.

Eldritch Evolution can be super spicy and help you get some big dudes out, you might want to find space for Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, Kogla, the Titan Ape, and or Surrak, the Hunt Caller, big fan of Surrak myself.

In regards to your Bloodbraid Elf. Gruul Spellbreaker is a far better target than Taurean Mauler and gives you more devotion to your Xenagos, God of Revels with those green and red pips. Also, Hexproofs you (yay!)

ghostofsparta, thanks for the advice! Oviya is dope. As I mentioned in my description, I just find her fascinating. If you like my version be sure to up-vote it ;)

I've noticed the same thing with Oviya; her presence is kind of tertiary but a nice mana sink. Sometimes she serves as a good lightning rod because people don't realize how expensive her abilities are.

I know Skyshroud Claim is better--just didn't have one on-hand when I built the deck. It's been reprinted in the last few years but it used to be out-of-budget so I never bought any, like I did Explosive Vegetation. I don't know if you saw, but Soul of New Phyrexia and Wrap in Vigor are on the short-list for swaps for exactly the reason you stated. I haven't really fiddled with the deck in a long time since it's kind of one of my lower-powered decks to whip out with beginners. That said, I've had some extremely explosive games where I quickly crush out of nowhere, belying the deck's budget.

That's a good point about Inspiring Statuary. I've kind of scrapped the idea of Artifacts Matter, but including those three would keep some of that flavor while still being viable. I'll keep it in mind when I retool for sure!

I have an Oketra's Monument but it seemed too cute at the time I built the deck. Do you run it? Thoughts?

Ah, a fellow Oviya player. Warms my heart.

I've found that it's best to use her first ability as a last resort mana sink, casting the other spells in my hand first. I usually start spitting out her constructs ASAP so I can start punching face. And yes, you will look scary when your board is filled with tokens. Comes with the territory.

Find a copy of Skyshroud Claim and replace Explosive Vegetation with it, or run it alongside. Adding in that Wrap in Vigor and Soul of New Phyrexia can help against board wipes, but mainly you deal with board wipes by just recovering afterwards. If you do decide to use Inspiring Statuary then Throne of the God-Pharaoh and Genesis Chamber become much better here. Even if your opponents get a few creatures off of Chamber, they won't put up much of a fight when you steamroll them. Also, getting some extra life drain could make the overrun play easier later. BTW, Overcome is another of these overrun effects.

I'm testing Arasta of the Endless Web and Wilderness Reclamation in my build. I imagine Arasta getting out of hand quickly if not dealt with, and Wilderness allows you to play a spell AND use Oviya in the same turn cycle. Cheaper than Seedborn too, money-wise.

Secret artifact tech: Oketra's Monument. Sure, you don't get the cost reduction, but otherwise it's basically a one-sided Genesis Chamber.
