Very interesting deck idea you have going. And it looks like you've already got most of the expensive cards in the deck as you have now.

You asked for budget recommendations to make this deck better. Here are my thoughts.

Start by moving every non-basic land in your maybe board to your mainboard. I like the basic lands but I don't think you have enough color fixing in the deck and I can see situations where you might end up color screwed and not be able to play things. Additionally, uncounterable abilities like the Subhome can force your opponents to make descisions that they might otherwise not have to make. Also consider running 34 to 36 lands total so that you aren't missing land drops, especially in the early game.

Swap the Fork in the Road out for the Kodama's Reach in your maybe board. Loosing a land to the graveyard after searching for it seems like a waste in a deck where you are not focused on graveyard.
The Blood Mist looks kind of weak in this deck. I would swap it out for another creature. And unless you are just really that excited about the Exert mechanic, I would consider replaceing those creatures with things that re more efficient. The Exert mechanic might work in draft or Standard, but I don't think it is a good choice for Commander decks. Take a look at the folowing creatures and see if they would work for you.

Equipment mattters theme
Avacynian Missionaries  Flip, Kor Duelist, Stone Haven Outfitter, Brass Squire, Kazuul's Toll Collector, Loxodon Punisher and Weapons Trainer
Double stike, bloodthirst, or trample to maximize the effects of the equipment
Marisi's Twinclaws or Hearthfire Hobgoblin, Scab-Clan Mauler, Skarrgan Pit-Skulk and many others.
Utility creatures that also help
Silklash Spider, Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile, Taurean Mauler, and Spikeshot Goblin. I know that some of these might be a bit weak, but I'm focusing on good and budget friendly. Vexing Shusher and Godsire may not be budget cards but they are not too expensive and could help out.

I hope these suggestions at lease give you some new ideas. Also, feel to take a look at my decks and let me know what you think. As always, temper these suggestions with your collection and your budget.

To make the deck faster, you could add another 2-drop (e.g. Hamlet Captain or if you can afford it Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip ) and some more combat tricks or removal (e.g. Blessed Alliance, Aim High, Repel the Abominable, Strength of Arms, Survive the Night, Prey Upon)

Note that you can cast Survive the Night pre combat to give all your creatures indestructible until end of turn IF Odric, Lunarch Marshal is out.

I suggest to cut Ulvenwald Mysteries, which only hekps in very long, grindy games and Neglected Heirloom  Flip despite its synergy with Avacynian Missionaries  Flip. Save it for the werewolf tribe, they have no trouble flipping it.

Thank you for the card suggestions. A few that I'm not familiar with. Some I just recently acquired, but I haven't had a chance to update my deck yet.

What I'm doing with this deck is using the clerics to produce tokens and gain life. In some cases, such as Profane Prayers, use the number of clerics to do direct damage. The design of this deck does work, it's just a little slow. Which is why I asked for suggestions to make it faster. And what you said about cards being pricey, that is why I'm looking for alternatives. If I had the extra cash to spend I would have Gilded Lotus and Lotus Vale in my deck already.

There are cards that I could easily replace (such as Accursed Witch  Flip), but for the most part, the creatures I've chosen were chosen because of how they work or their power/toughness vs mana cost. An example, you suggested Fiend Hunter over Avacynian Missionaries  Flip. Well, for one mana more than what Fiend Hunter costs Avacynian Missionaries  Flip starts as a 3/3 and after transforming becomes a 4/4, then you get to add on the bonuses of the equipment. And if you have Neglected Heirloom  Flip (I know it isn't listed in my deck, but I plan on putting it in at some point) equipped on it, that bonus increases.

In this case, the mana cost reduction cards, would come in handy, and would work well with Edgewalker, which is already in my deck.

I am definitely going to look into some of the other cards you suggested. I liked the options they offered.

imo i'd say Fiend Hunter is superior to Avacynian Missionaries  Flip in regards to its effect with the singlular equipment in the deck

not totally sure what you feel like doing with your deck so I can't make too many suggestions about the deck other than probably cutting some lands for other cards and adding in more mana ramp since you have pretty much none, mana ramp is a bit hard in a deck that doesn't use green but there are some options

you could use the Soul Sisters Soul Warden Soul's Attendant and Auriok Champion but the last one is pretty pricey, they do give lifegain on all creatures entering the battlefield not just your own

i think you could replace Sigil of the Empty Throne with Angelic Accord since your deck is to gain life, it sort of utilizes it. You could also use an Archangel of Thune to weaponize lifegain, or use the Sanguine Bond +Exquisite Blood combo it might not be friendly but it isn't that bad

you could add in tutors:Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Diabolic Tutor, Beseech the Queen is a decent card for 3 mana mid game Sorin, Grim Nemesis is fairly good here i'd think but better if it hits a higher cost card, i dont think he'd live long enough to pump enough value out though.

Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse can fix mana but in a 2 color not overly needed

Ghost Quarter + Flagstones of Trokair = 2 Plains tutor which isnt too bad i guess abet one is tapped

Gift of Estates, Land Tax i guess is technically ramp Knight of the White Orchid can be a solid card since someone's bound to have more lands

Artifact Land tutors: Armillary Sphere, Solemn Simulacrum, Expedition Map

i mean you could add in some mana rocks to give ramp like: Charcoal Diamond, Marble Diamond not very fast but mana ramp

not really mana rocks just cost reducers, still a bit slow though: Pearl Medallion, Jet Medallion

Slower monocolor rocks: Tooth of Ramos, Thunder Totem, Skull of Ramos not as good as commander's sphere or manalith

Guild Manarocks: Orzhov Cluestone, Orzhov Keyrune, Orzhov Signet

Colorless Mana: Obligitory Sol Ring then Dreamstone Hedron, Everflowing Chalice, Hedron Archive, Mind Stone, Thran Dynamo, Thought Vessel

not very easy on the wallet but solid rock here: Mana Crypt

Any color ones: Manalith, Commander's Sphere, Darksteel Ingot, Doubling Cube(doubles all the Mana you have for 2), Cryptolith Fragment  Flip(doesnt really flip though), Corrupted Grafstone, Gilded Lotus, Fellwar Stone

I like where you are going with this but it needs some work. First off 30 lands is a crazy amount even for your curve. You could probably be OK with 24 maybe 25 max. Might want to look into some of the dual lands like Inspiring Vantage or Needle Spires to help with your mana fixing. Also, I see you are running Avacynian Missionaries  Flip which is a good card if you are running equipment cards like Cathar's Shield, Bone Saw, Neglected Heirloom  Flip or Elbrus, the Binding Blade  Flip but otherwise it is a lackluster card on its own. You have a lot of creatures at 4 converted mana cost you may want to look at cutting 1 or 2 of them and throwing in some 3-drop spells. I would suggest Thalia, Heretic Cathar as her ability causes your opponent's creatures to enter tapped and buy you those early-game turns that you will desperately need to bring out your big guys. Other than that pretty solid deck. White has some good removal too in Declaration in Stone and Immolating Glare. Cheers mate!
