Bloodthirst 2 (If an opponent was dealt damage this turn, this creature enters the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it.)

Bloodbriar might make a good beater in this deck. Perhaps instead of Scab-Clan Mauler? You already have Rancor in there to give him trample when needed.

NV_1980 Oh wow I really like the idea of Scab-Clan Mauler for when I just have to be faster.

Definitely will make it in my sideboard over Pulse of Murasa, considering the full 4 over Tangle as well!

Thanks so much for the kind words and the great suggestion!

Hi,

We love this build! The cards you've put in grant so much value and the combo's you can do with Burning-Tree Emissary are hilarious. Considering the many avenues you have for dealing quick damage, have you considered adding Scab-Clan Mauler? Other creatures that came to mind were Keldon Marauders and Initiate's Companion .

Have fun playing this!

Regards, NV_1980

I'd actually run the Kird Apes in the main and put the playset of Young Wolf in the sideboard. Ape is much more aggressive initially, and Wolf is stronger against control or removal-heavy decks.

Blastoderm is an older, but absolutely gnarly beatstick that's hard to get rid of, and great stats for its cost. Definitely better than the Rubblebelt Maaka, but I'd even run it in the main. Depending on how reliably you think you can nuke artifacts and enchantments with Wickerbough Elder, these are interchangeable.

Taking out Rancor is a mistake. That's one of the best, if not THE best, aggressive enchantments in Magic, let alone Pauper. I'd run it as a 2-of.

But the best card you're not running by far has to be Horned Kavu. Where do I start? Reset a counter on Young Wolf/Wickerbough Elder/Scab-Clan Mauler, play on T2 off of a Burning-Tree Emissary for no tempo loss, return Lightning Shrieker to your hand so you don't have to shuffle it into your library if the game's gone long enough for some reason...can't stress Horned Kavu enough.

Happy brewing!

Hi! I don't play pauper myself, so I'm very unfamiliar with the format, but I'm still an experienced player so I may be able to help. Kird Ape would be good in this, as it's essentially a 2/3 for 1 mana. In your sideboard I would run 2-3 Ancient Grudges, its good artifact removal in your colors. I would also sideboard 1-2 Life Goes On an all-star against burn because their obviously gonna burn your creatures so it's good to have an answer. Scab-Clan Mauler and Burning-Tree Emissary are both just great value and I can't stress the need to run 4 of both. Hooting Mandrills would be a good 1-2 of, you can normally cast it for cheap. For pump, I'd go with Giant Growth and maybe Titanic Growth. Good luck and I hope I was able to help!

Very interesting deck idea you have going. And it looks like you've already got most of the expensive cards in the deck as you have now.

You asked for budget recommendations to make this deck better. Here are my thoughts.

Start by moving every non-basic land in your maybe board to your mainboard. I like the basic lands but I don't think you have enough color fixing in the deck and I can see situations where you might end up color screwed and not be able to play things. Additionally, uncounterable abilities like the Subhome can force your opponents to make descisions that they might otherwise not have to make. Also consider running 34 to 36 lands total so that you aren't missing land drops, especially in the early game.

Swap the Fork in the Road out for the Kodama's Reach in your maybe board. Loosing a land to the graveyard after searching for it seems like a waste in a deck where you are not focused on graveyard.
The Blood Mist looks kind of weak in this deck. I would swap it out for another creature. And unless you are just really that excited about the Exert mechanic, I would consider replaceing those creatures with things that re more efficient. The Exert mechanic might work in draft or Standard, but I don't think it is a good choice for Commander decks. Take a look at the folowing creatures and see if they would work for you.

Equipment mattters theme
Avacynian Missionaries  Flip, Kor Duelist, Stone Haven Outfitter, Brass Squire, Kazuul's Toll Collector, Loxodon Punisher and Weapons Trainer
Double stike, bloodthirst, or trample to maximize the effects of the equipment
Marisi's Twinclaws or Hearthfire Hobgoblin, Scab-Clan Mauler, Skarrgan Pit-Skulk and many others.
Utility creatures that also help
Silklash Spider, Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile, Taurean Mauler, and Spikeshot Goblin. I know that some of these might be a bit weak, but I'm focusing on good and budget friendly. Vexing Shusher and Godsire may not be budget cards but they are not too expensive and could help out.

I hope these suggestions at lease give you some new ideas. Also, feel to take a look at my decks and let me know what you think. As always, temper these suggestions with your collection and your budget.

  1. I would see Radha, Heir to Keld fit well into the group.

  2. I would have tried suggesting Scab-Clan Mauler but I see it's strictly worse than Voltaic Brawler in almost every way. Stormblood Berserker is also a similar card. Maybe Strangleroot Geist?

  3. Let's talk equipments. Would Adventuring Gear be any good in your opinion? And Ring of Kalonia, Mage Slayer?

  4. Let's talk 3-drops. It's clear that there's a strict limit on 3-drops because they're slow but still... Yasova Dragonclaw Seems solid and pretty budget. Pyreheart Wolf also seems not bad to me. What would be your alternatives to the 3drop satyr-centaur?

  5. There's a world of 4- and 5- drops you could try in 1 or max. 2 copies in your deck. Just to name a couple : Fangren Firstborn, Stonebrow, Krosan Hero. Have you ever tried? Are these bad because of a too high cmc?

DIEMETAL: Gracias a Google Translate, creo que s lo que ha dicho, y creo que tambin estoy de acuerdo con usted. lol =P

unos: Scab-Clan Mauler, and Undergrowth are both good suggestions, thank-you. I'll give Horned Helm some playtesting one day, because I have considered it before, it just never made the cut.
