[Mid] Rukarumel: Ghost Slivers

Commander / EDH*

kremsers

Maybeboard

The premise of the deck is that the creature type you choose when Rukarumel enters the battlefield will always be spirit so that your slivers will also benefit from spirit typal bonuses. If you have additional type-conversion cards in play, you can make spirits benefit from sliver bonuses, as well, but making your slivers spirits is a higher priority.

The main purpose of the deck, beyond being my first sliver deck, is to test my assumption that the "correct" build for Rukarumel is slivers plus exactly one other creature type, as well as my suspicion that spirits might be the "correct" second creature type. I assume you'd go with a non-typal build if you were attempting to take Rukarumel to a CEDH pod, but then, I also assume you'd get flattened with any Rukarumel build in a CEDH pod, so I'm focusing on what works best in a casual pod.

As I'm zeroing in on the 100-card mark, I'm beginning to think the way to go is actually to name sliver as the type when Rukarumel comes in, not worry about a second creature type, and just splash a few non-slivers. I want to finish what I started, though, and I think it might turn out to be some pretty fun jank.
