Creature (116)

My pod plays $100 EDH sans Sol Ring, the price is set after the last edit and we use Moxfield set to cheapest for price.

This is my Ellivere deck, I have gone for alt prints and promos where available. The decks themes are humans, ETB and non creature hate. Still early days with it so I will be updating and testing with my pod.

What does it do? Primarily it is a Green and Taxes Human deck. Opening line is getting out a beater and then Ellivere. Ellivere is a great engine to have in the command zone, it draws and sets up a combat win that exponentially grows turn after turn. Add in tax pieces and you slow your opponents down enough to build and overwhelming board advantage.

You may notice that there's a preponderance of creatures, this is because creatures can be roled and virtuous roles are basically anthems, which make combat progressively stronger. The creatures cover ramp, tax and interaction.

Humanball I like humans, being one myself, I wanted to build a human deck that actually wins and Ellivere is the perfect commander to make that happen. The ramp is human based with a number of cards that work together to make more and more mana.

Tax Being that most of the deck is creatures, you can lockdown non creature spells and not lose tempo. Gaddock Teeg is great and paired with Sanctum Prelate/Springheart Nantuko, naming 1,2,3 and no more noncreature spells or Springheart Nantuko on Archon of Valor's Reach naming Sorcery, Instant, Artifact, Planeswalker and even Enchantment for another lock.

Other tax cards are situational and there are a few tutors that will help you land them in a timely manner, some of these have Flash. As always R.T.F.C.

Beaters Given most of the deck is creatures, basically anything can be a beater and landing hits will draw more off Ellivere's triggered ability. I have prioritised creatures with combat tricks given that is the wincon, embiggened creatures that can do extra things in combat. Some cards are just in for that reason Dragon Sniper and Odric, Lunarch Marshal are good examples.

Tutors The deck is optimised to the tutors and most tutors will find what you need or will tutor for tutors that will get you where you need to go.

Auras Mostly there to suit up Ellivere to allow her to get in on combat and draw cards. I have also gone with a couple of bestow creatures, so you have an aura if needed or just a beater.

Noncreature Spells There aren't many but what is there is mainly tutors or enchantments that are good, cheap and anthem virtuous roles.

Resilience You are going to be drawing heaps and with a full hand should be able to rebuild pretty quickly should a boardwipe happen. You want at least one creature dropping each turn so Ellivere can role it, missing a creature drop is bad always cast a creature in main phase 1, attack with Ellivere, role new creature, swing, draw and then see about second main phase. There is not much logic to not tapping out each of your turns unless you have one of the flash creatures at hand.
