Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines

Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Praetor

Vigilance

If a permanent entering the battlefield causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.

Thanks for the suggestions Bookrook. I think I’ll pass on Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines due to price, casting cost and since she isn’t a spirit (or ’spirit adjacent’).

Delney, Streetwise Lookout is easier to cast and might hold promise, but again that price is steep (and I utterly despise the artwork). Also, non-spirit. That last bit isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker, but if at all possible I’d like to stay within that creature type, so the card would have to be a perfect fit to break that self-imposed rule.

As always, thanks for posting!

You have a lot of etb triggers, so you might consider running Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines or Delney, Streetwise Lookout.

Specifically for OPs Ghired deck, which I had assumed this entire conversation was about, there are only 2 creatures that can make copies of creatures (Bramble Sovereign and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, both of which should have better targets), zero ways to blink creatures, and only 2 other cards I saw which care about creatures entering (Aura Shards and Warleader's Call). None of this justifies Wood Elves.

Even for OPs Chulane deck, where Wood Elves feels more at-home, there’s basically no synergy outside of the commander itself, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines and two blink spells (for some reason Ephemerate isn’t even being played). While Wood Elves has actual value here, I can’t see it being more useful than a Birds of Paradise or any other mana-dork for that matter, which the deck is missing.

Hackbrett Thank you so much for providing a link to this deck on your list in Moxfield! As per your suggestion, I have added a new section called "Recent Changes" where you will be able to see what cards I add/remove over time.

Based on the boardwipes used by your playgroup, I would recommend that you include Archon of Valor's Reach (I usually declare Sorceries) and Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines (if this one synergized with cards like Welcoming Vampire, it would be an auto include. Nevertheless, this doubles the ETB effect of Craterhoof Behemoth and you can bring in both as a finishing combo with Tooth and Nail) to replace the Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Dawnglade Regent that you took out. I am actually considering replacing Avacyn, Angel of Hope with Archon of Valor's Reach in the list regardless, and potentially replacing other Indestructible effects with Phase Out effects, since I have also felt that non-destruction boardwipes are taking over. If you really want to lock your board down, you could also include a Gaddock Teeg.

Hopefully these suggestions help, definitely let me know if you decide to try them out, and truly thank you for your support!

Oooh yes I'll definitely add that to my deck when it comes out, and I see your point for Delney and Sevinne's Reclamation, I made mine before Delney was out so I'll add her as well! Of course, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines is great too but that's more pricy.

Last_Laugh on New hubs to be added

legendofa re: double triggers. None of what you listed is a trigger. I'm talking Isshin, Two Heavens as One, Teysa Karlov, Felix Five-Boots, Yarok, the Desecrated, Gandalf the White, Drivnod, Carnage Dominus, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, etc.

I guess to me a hub describes a decks main focuses and when I'm unable to describe my deck this way then the available hubs might be getting too narrow.

Anyways, cheers and sorry for the bad timing... it didn't even click I tossed this at ya on a prerelease weekend.

No worries, I figured we all place different emphasis on those non-token creatures. I mostly like Scapegoat since it can help dodge removal that typically gets around Indestructible.

Ojer Taq, and the design for the other Ixalan deities is really cool and flavorful. I like how they turn into their places of worship, compared to the Devotion stuff we saw in Theros. I was thinking of doing Ojer Axonil, & building it as like Goblins & group slug effects.

The two mono-White commanders I brewed in the past year were Preston, the Vanisher and Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. I pulled a Mom Norn about a year ago, and it's just been sitting in my White Binder lol.
