In:

Dualcaster Mage Llanowar Empath Genesis Hydra Yeva, Nature's Herald Decimator of the Provinces Siege Behemoth Magus of the Library Brutalizer Exarch Duplicant Greenwarden of Murasa Loaming Shaman Golden Guardian  Flip Burnished Hart Wood Elves Gaea's Herald Frontier Guide Diligent Farmhand Contested Cliffs Endless Sands Ghost Quarter Mystifying Maze Fungal Reaches Sheltered Thicket Raging Ravine Game Trail Memorial to Unity

My first update is focused on fine-tuning the deck a bit and getting rid of some of the obvious misfits with some needed staples and just new cards I thought would work. I decided to go all-in on the quick beatdown plan, so I added in some low-curve mana producers like Wood Elves, Magus of the Library, Frontier Guide, and Burnished Hart along with some heavy beaters and game-enders like Decimator of the Provinces and Siege Behemoth. I also added a bit more tutoring power with cards like Genesis Hydra and Brutalizer Exarch. I removed a bit of the Elf tribal suite because while it may be good in the early game, it won’t matter much if you get something like Skyshroud Poacher later in the game. I added Yeva, Nature’s Herald because having flash is crucial for a deck like this to really succeed—surprise allows you to dodge removal and play conservatively instead of walking into spot removal and board wipes. Speaking of flash, I can’t believe I didn’t consider Dualcaster Mage before—you may not be able to cast your own instants and sorceries, but Nikya doesn’t say anything about not letting you take other people’s! Golden Guardian I think is an excellent card in this deck—not only does it die easily to most of your powerful creatures, including your commander, but it transforms instantly into a land to boost your mana AND that pumps out Golems every turn with the extra mana you have left over. Finally, I also beefed up the land suite a bit to include some more utility lands—one thing I’ve realized is that the lands in this deck will have to carry some of the extra weight of you not playing spells. Contested Cliffs gives you access to extra removal, as many of this deck’s most powerful creatures are Beasts. Fungal Reaches lets you store extra Nikya mana for a big burst later on. Endless Sands is more insurance against removal and board wipes. And Mystifying Maze provides the deck with some much-needed defensive capability, once again helped by all that extra mana.

Something I’m struggling with is how much to focus on my beatdown plan versus an anti-control or combo plan. As it stands, this deck is well tuned for the beats but is weak against non-interactive strategies like storm or blink decks. Cards like Ruric Thar, Immolation Shaman, and Harsh Mentor would definitely put a crimp in their plans and stop them from going off, but they don’t really help toward Nikya’s goals much. Other cards like Runic Armasaur that are designed for the long game don’t seem at home in this specific version of the deck—I could see an alternate build though designed more with control in mind than beatdown. You’ll notice I’ve added a large Maybeboard of cards I want to include, but just can’t find space for.

Thoughts?

another thing you could do to make the deck better is cleaning up the manabase! you should run 10 of each basic and replace some of the forests you have with cheap split lands! some good budget split lands under $5 are

Cinder Glade - $3

Game Trail - $1.12

Highland Weald -$.28 (Very not good but very budget)

Karplusan Forest - been reprinted 1000 times you can find a old one for like $2

Mossfire Valley -$5

Rootbound Crag -$3.45

Shivan Oasis -$.20 (Very not good but very budget)

Sheltered Thicket -$2

Spire Garden -$5.42

Temple of Abandon -$1

Fungal Reaches, Gruul Guildgate, Timber Gorge are very not good even on a budget, i would recommend cutting these for any of these upgrades after evening out the manabase. I like all of the utility lands you put in though they are very fun!

You should have prayed at the Temple of Abandon so you don't end up in the Fungal Reaches looking like a Kazandu Refugee.

Have you considered Vorel of the Hull Clade combined with my other suggestions? Ramos, Dragon Engine ; Doubling Cube; Master Transmuter, Composite Golem, Phyrexian Reclamation, and the Talismans (Talisman of Dominance, Talisman of Progress, Talisman of Unity, Talisman of Impulse, Talisman of Indulgence. With Vorel you could also include Gyre Sage. Using Vorel to double the counters on Ramos and Gyre Sage. You could also storage lands like Calciform Pools, Dreadship Reef, Molten Slagheap, Fungal Reaches, Saltcrusted Steppe, Mage-Ring Network, and/or Mirrodin's Core along with a card that transforms lands into a creature, doesn't matter if it's permanent or just temporary, to have Vorel double the number of counters on them while they are creatures. I do this in my Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and it works magic for me. If you're worried about any of these engine cards being limited just add tutors.

Side Note: I totally use Wasteland, Strip Mine, Crucible of Worlds, Ramunap Excavator , Exploration, and Burgeoning in my Glissa, the Traitor EDH deck and those cards are savage together. highly recommend trying them out together in a deck.

Flameblast Dragon, Radha, Heir to Keld etc.) zu replacen:

sylvannos on Budget Tron Help Me Please

My go-to budget Tron list I recommend to help grind FNMs is:

2x Forest
3+ Fungal Reaches OR Pinecrest Ridge
1x Ghost Quarter1x Inventors' Fair
1x Urza's Factory OR Sanctum of Ugin
4x Urza's Mine
4x Urza's Power Plant
4x Urza's Tower

This gives several utility lands, while also having a good balance of colored mana. The important thing to remember: you absolutely cannot have lands come into play tapped and you will lose games to decks like Burn and Death's Shadow if you have to pay life. The obvious choice is Grove of the Burnwillows for this very reason. However, that obviously will eat your entire budget.

Pinecrest Ridge is probably the best replacement. Not only does it have the option to just tap for colorless and come into play untapped, you can get the or you need to search for Tron pieces or cast Pyroclasm.

4x Sylvan Scrying
4x Ancient Stirrings
4x Expedition Map
2x Talisman of Impulse
4x Chromatic Sphere
4x Chromatic Star

This is pretty standard for a Tron list, the exception being Talisman of Impulse. While you don't want to be paying the life against faster decks, having the ability to tap for colored mana and still get Tron on turn 3 is more helpful when you're on a budget. It means you can play multiple World Breakers, add Inferno Titans, or use whatever budget options you have lying around when some of the more expensive fat cards (like Karn Liberated or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth) aren't available. That way, you're not relying a whole lot on cards like Myr Battlesphere or Steel Hellkite.

4x Ratchet Bomb / Oblivion Stone
4x Pyroclasm
1x All Is Dust

You need boardwipes. Pyroclasm is especially important because you will lose to a turn one Slippery Bogle is you do not kill it immediately. They will untap on their turn two and toss an umbra on it. By the time you can use another piece of removal, you'll be so low on life that they can simply play another one or get you with Dryad Arbor. The same is true against turn one Glistener Elf. They will use something like Apostle's Blessing to deal with whatever you have once they untap.

You can skip on red and go straight mono-green, but then you just have to accept that you lose to Infect, Bogles, and Burn. If these aren't in your meta, replace Talisman of Impulse with Mind Stone or Relic of Progenitus and the lands with basic Forests and a 2nd. Ghost Quarter.

The All Is Dust is probably the only non-budget card I'd recommend you have because of how much 3+ color decks get BTFO'd on turn three when you slam it. If it's still out of your budget, replace it with a Platinum Angel.

That's 50 cards total. Your last 10 cards should be:

  • Huge
  • OR win conditions
  • OR removal

Basically, choose a combination of the following that fits into your budget (I put them in order of importance):

Based on what you've posted, I'd recommend something like:

2x Wurmcoil Engine
2x Sundering Titan (you can power this out on turn 3 via Talisman of Impulse and laugh at some Jund player's $2,000 mana base as they concede)
1x Worldbreaker
4x Relic of Progenitus
1x Spatial Contortion

All that's left is your sideboard. Based on the above, I'd go with:

2x Ancient Grudge
1x Defense Grid
1x Ghost Quarter
1x Grafdigger's Cage
3x Nature's Claim
1x Orbs of Warding
1x Spatial Contortion
3x Thragtusk
1x Torpor Orb
1x Warping Wail

Also AmazingGrace15 you could probably lower the amount of lands you play being that you have rocks and ramp. Maybe 36? that tends to be a decent balance. Also, since you're budget, storage lands could be a good way to build up for something huge in one turn. Fungal Reaches and Saltcrusted Steppe. There is also storage lands of each individual color. I just thought the dual mana ones would be better. I would add in more board wipes and targeted removal for the spots of bringing your lands down. Your deck is going to be relatively slow, so you want to stall everyone as much as possible. Also, Kindred Boon seems like a great card here to keep your dinosaurs on the board. Also helps Pyrohemia as you can deal any amount of damage (that doesn't kill you) to make sure the board stays wipes. What about True Conviction? the lifelink I feel would be relevant, and who isn't scared of an army of powerful dinosaurs with double strike?

For cheap mana fixing (<$1):

Calciform Pools
Dreadship Reef
Cascading Cataracts
Fungal Reaches
Molten Slagheap
Saltcrusted Steppe
Opal Palace
Commander's Sphere
Exotic Orchard
Fellwar Stone
Gift of Paradise
Grand Coliseum
Pyramid of the Pantheon
Weirding Wood
Bant Panorama
Esper Panorama
Grixis Panorama
Jund Panorama
Naya Panorama
Fertilid
Explosive Vegetation

Cuts I'd suggest:

Gideon's Lawkeeper for Journey to Nowhere
Manaplasm for Managorger Hydra or Forgotten Ancient
Ondu Giant for Wood Elves
Rhox War MonkSengir Vampire for Archfiend of Depravity or Desecration Demon
Serra Angel for Serra Avenger
Stormblood Berserker for Sulfuric Vortex
Circle of Flame for Mizzium Mortars
Glory of Warfare for Chromatic Lantern
Honor of the Pure for Spear of Heliod, if you really want an anthem effect.
Frost Breath for Mana Leak
Guardians' Pledge for Sakura-Tribe Elder (you really dont have enough white creatures for this effect)
Incinerate & Lightning Bolt for Terminate and Murder
Plummet for Oblivion Ring
Titanic Growth for Harmonize
War Report for Day of Judgment
Exploding Borders for Burnished Hart
Traveler's Amulet for Wayfarer's Bauble

I suggest choosing a theme for your deck. Right now it seems to be pulling in too many directions.
Want to cast and swing with Progenitus? Include cards that grant haste like Temur Ascendancy.
Want to play fun multicolored shenanigans? Include whatever value you like.
Want to use overcosted enchantment cycles? Include the Shrines.
Focusing will allow you to better determine what your deck wants. Regardless, I recommend playing heavy green to maximize your ability to mana ramp.
