Yeva, Nature's Herald Discussion

It is true that the deathtouch package will be worse in multiplayer games since you have more threats to deal with. I think siding into a bigger ramp package would be a good idea. I would caution though that it's important to add in more mana dorks or ramp spells to keep pace with any new bombs you include or you'll find yourself mana screwed a lot of the time.

I went ahead and added my creature-based commander deck so I could link it for reference. It was built from a casual 60-card skeleton that's quite similar to your deck, so some of the ramp cards I've had success with over the years might do well here too.
deck: Predator's Toolkit

Prowling Serpopard or Destiny Spinner could be useful tech if counters are flying around left and right. Vigor is definitely strong against board stalls, and I like Archetype of Endurance against a lot of common removal. Somberwald Sage and Elvish Piper would probably be my first picks for dropping haymakers early without much other support. Yeva, Nature's Herald and Seedborn Muse are particularly disgusting in multiplayer since you essentially play on every turn. Some final bombs I love are Whiptongue Hydra for flyers, Polukranos, World Eater for other creatures, and Sylvan Primordial for most anything else.

For your existing ideas, I think Worldspine Wurm is good if your games go long enough to cast it while Tempt with Discovery is good if you don't have opponents who greatly benefit from the mana. I'm still iffy on Lumberknot in a deck not based around token sacrifice, and I'd probably just run Dungrove Elder if you need a midrange hexproof creature. Hydra's Growth is very good with additional +1/+1 synergy, Kazandu Tuskcaller needs more token synergy, and Strixhaven Stadium feels optimistic in multiplayer. For the bigger cards, I think Vigor , Soul of New Phyrexia , Toski, Bearer of Secrets , Verdant Sun's Avatar , and Vivien Reid are all playable. Myojin of Life's Web needs some way to refill the hand or its ability will never do anything that impactful. Impervious Greatwurm is the weakest option since it gets completely stuffed by chump blockers. I used Connive / Concoct to reanimate it in standard and still found it to be too slow. If you had a Warstorm Surge or something, maybe it'd be a different story...

Abzkaban on What are your Favorite Commanders?

My favorite decks to play are Ghave, Guru of Spores , Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer , and Queen Marchesa . Yeva, Nature's Herald is a fun one, too, if you like winning at instant speed. Let me know if you want to see any decklists. Actually they all should be on my page.

Gruul (R/G) is also a great color combo for Big, Hasty Stuff. Xenagos, God of Revels or landfall commanders like Omnath, Locus of Rage are popular ones.

For mono-G, Yeva, Nature's Herald is great if you like to flash in big dudes, and Omnath, Locus of Mana is great for ramping and having a giant green dude.

Took some advice and made some upgrades. Thanks for the tips. Love the potential of Yeva, Nature's Herald and Seedborn Muse .

Hey there! Elves are indeed a super fun creature type, I've whipped up a few decks for them in the past, thus I may have some suggestions that may be of use for you! First off, Twilight Mire would make a great addition to this deck, and I can say from experience that they help you quite a bit. There is also Blooming Marsh, which may not be your thing, but works very well for me in some of my decks. Strip Mine/Wasteland can definitely up the power-level of your deck, as almost nothing works better than destroying your opponent's lands, especially since the ability is hard to stop. Ancient Tomb is also an amazing card, and based on the card costs in your deck, I think you could use this quite a lot to your advantage in the deck, especially because you're gaining life. Last but not least, I would possibly recommend Mana Confluence, City of Brass, and Reflecting Pool, if you think your mana base needs it, though I think it looks pretty fine without it. You may also want to replace all your basics with Snow-Covered Swamps and Snow-Covered Forest, as they are cheap, and function the exact same as basics, meaning they are still considered basic lands, etc, except they can be very good if you are facing a snow deck. While this isn't likely, it is always something to consider. Speaking of the mana base, there are some notable cards missing here, and I would consider the following for ramp: Birds of Paradise, Sylvan Caryatid, Nature's Lore/Three Visits, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Exploration, Burgeoning, Explore, Emerald Medallion, Sol Ring, and of course Arcane Signet. I understand a couple of your elves can ramp, but its good to at least have 7-10 ramp spells in the deck, and some of the above might be very helpful in that regard. Now enough about the manabase, how about we look into your elves! Here are a list of a bunch of elves you way want to consider: Abomination of Llanowar, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Marwyn, the Nurturer, Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, Fauna Shaman, Allosaurus Shepherd, Shaman of the Pack, Elvish Champion, Heritage Druid, Yeva, Nature's Herald, Joraga Treespeaker, Wirewood Symbiote, and many more! You also may want to consider some tribal cards, like Coat of Arms, Vanquisher's Banner, Door of Destinies, Herald's Horn, Urza's Incubator, etc. Last but not least, you may want to include Umbral Mantle, Sword of the Paruns, and Staff of Domination, because if you have Elvish Archdruid, Priest of Titania, or something that gives 3+ mana, you can get INFINITE mana with these cards, making them quite good! Anyways, these card suggestions may not be your sort of thing, or they may give you something to think about, but either way feel free to check out some of my decks, like Double Trouble EDH ⫸PRIMER⫷, and give them some support if this helped! Now I hope this helps, good luck on your deck, and have a wonderful day! Happy tapping!

Faux_Faux on REBIRTH OF THE STORM!

As a personal advocate for green storm, firstly, I congratulate and praise you for your loyalty. Secondly, as far as combo is concerned, let me donate some knowedelge from the same sages who taught me the ways of the wilds:

To begin, as you listed in your first comment, Temur Sabertooth is a fantastic green bounce effect that also allows you to protect itself, which is always nice. For another good body with bounce effects, maybe try Kogla, the Titan Ape!

Then, I would like to list Yeva, Nature's Herald as she is just fantastic. Just read her. Very noice.

Also in the league is Umbral Mantle, Sword of the Paruns or Staff of Domination which combined with any mana dork that adds at least 4 mana, (for maximum effectiveness), makes infinite mana.

For an outlet, I'd recommend the classic Walking Ballista.

I know, there are a ton of artifacts that are doing the work, and not neccessarily the green creatures, but I figured I'd still list some good combos! Hope this helps!

Hey, you're welcome. Do you own all the cards in the sideboard? There's several cards in the sideboard that are better than cards in the main deck.

If you choose to add the two card infinite green mana combo these are some changes to consider:

Sabertooth is a very good green creature with or without the combo. It's ability is repeatable and it gives you lots of value from creatures who have an enter the battlefield (ETB) ability by bouncing the creature and then casting it again. Genesis Hydra is a unique creature in green since it can cheat any nonland permanent with CMC X or less you reveal from X cards onto the battlefield which includes not just a creature, but also an enchantment, artifact or Planeswalker. Being able to repeat this effect with Sabertooth can give you a lot of value in mono green.
