Aggro, eschewing cards that exist just to power infinite whatever combos.

Here are my thoughts on the trade offs among slivers and supporting cards:

Mana

We want lots of mana to power the tutoring. We don't need ramp (Three Wishes, Farseek, Nature's Lore) as much as heft (Skyshroud Claim). Tempt with Discovery can fetch any land, so I like it even if it only yields one. If you're land-screwed get a bounce land, if you're facing a shroud commander fetch Arcane Lighthouse; if you have an army in place go for Gaea's Cradle. Probably Vampiric Tutor is a better play but Tempt is fun.

Aether Vial and Cryptic Gateway pair well with Prophet of Kruphrix/Seedborn Muse, and put the slivers down at instant speed un-counterspellably. Aluren lands most of our deck for free (but also our opponents')

Courser of Kruphix and Oracle of Mul Daya work to put lots of land on the table. Since we can generate shuffles at will with the commander and very often with fetch lands, this also lets us put the right kind of card on top when we draw.

Cards

Sylvan Library, Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, Rhystic Study, Phyrexian Arena, Consecrated Sphinx pull from the library, Creeping Renaissance, Sun Titan, Patriarch's Bidding pull from the graveyard.

Garruk, Caller of Beasts

Hibernation's End, Lurking Predators and Descendents' Path will work once about every 1, 1.5 turns or 3 turns respectively without deck manipulation, and when they do they're most likely cheating a cheap card down anyway. Call to the Kindred is vulnerable to removal of the creature it sits on or to enchantment removal. Our commander already gives us card advantage, so I don't think these end up being worth it. If these do go in then Mirri's Guile, Scroll Rack, Sensei's Divining Top, Future Sight, Oracle of Mul Daya, Course of Kruphrix all become useful.

I don't like tutor-heavy decks, so Enlightened Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Wargate are purposeful omissions. We can already toot up creatures, so Eladamri's Call, Worldly Tutor, Sylvan Tutor and Survival of the Fittest don't fit.

Wheel of Sun and Moon keeps cards tutorable if played on yourself, or is a nice piece of hate against a reanimator deck.

Safety

Regeneration, in order of decreasing value: Frenetic Sliver (free, 50% success rate); Clot Sliver (costs 2); Sedge Sliver (costs B); Crypt Sliver (tap, fails with shroud); Hibernation (2 life, must re-cast); Poultice Sliver (costs 2, tap, fails with shroud).

Crystalline Sliver and Steely Resolve give our slivers shroud. That screws up the commander's stealing gimmick, but totally worth it. Diffusion Sliver is hexproof-lite. Fetch Sliver Hivelord for indestructible, and only a Terminus or All is Dust can dislodge you.

It's probably worth having Syphon Sliver tutorable for life gain. Essence Sliver's effect stacks with Syphon (because it's not a keyword) but is too expensive to justify doubling up. Unless you are running Sliver Queen shenanigans, Darkheart Sliver and Victual Sliver are way too expensive.

Maze of Ith is safety and avoidance. It becomes a mana land with Urburg or Chromatic Lantern in play.

Timing

We get haste from Heart Sliver and Firewake Sliver, and flash from Quick Sliver. Haste is really useful, but not useful enough to also include Blur Sliver.

Avoidance

Slivers are wussy, so we don't want them blocked.

Galerider (1: flying) is in, Winged (2: flying) is redundant.Cover of Darkness (2 cmc enchantment: only blocked by artifact or black) is imperfect and not tutorable. Two-headed Sliver (2 cmc: must block with two or more) is in, Belligerent Sliver (3 cmc, same) is redundant. Shifting (4: only blocked by slivers) is expensive but offers the best avoidance. Shadow (3: shadow) has the big downside that you can't block either. Ward Sliver (5 cmc, protection from a color) is expensive and weak in multi-player.

Deathtouch from Venom Sliver (2) and deathtouch-ish from Toxin Sliver (4) incentivize avoidance; with Striking Sliver in play your first strike generally wins. Note that Toxin Sliver is combat damage only.

Buff

Fury Sliver and Bonescythe Sliver give double strike. Our commander hits for 7, so one early hit and a double strike hit win the game.

Magma Sliver scales but only goes to one creature; and fails with shroud. Predatory, Might, Sinew all give too small a buff to be worth it.
