Sneks! Sneks! Sneks!

I've seen several different ideas with Xyris but not really any that focuses specifically just on the wheel aspect alone (typically seeing slow additional card draw or snek synergies etc). This is my version I'll be running (whenever we get back to playing paper!) where I want to try to make all the sneks in one shot and win with them that way.

I've attempted to categorize most of the cards and you can use the 'custom' drop down feature to sort them accordingly. I will refer to those categories throughout this description.

So the idea is to get Xyris out (ahead of curve if possible) and use a bunch of the 'interaction' options to keep the commander on the board. Same can also be used for The Locust God as well since it has a similar effect. They are the focus of the deck (in fact they're a linchpin) and quite important for the strategy to work so protec protec protec! Ramp will also be important to be able to keep up with the commander tax. Man I wish I had a Gaea's Cradle!

Then attempt to add 'Synergy' cards to the board to maximize the effects of making multiple Sneks!

Followed by Wheel, Wheel and more Wheel. Wheels are great card draw (especially when looking for answers/ specific cards) and I've tried to include enough ramp in the deck so that you can continue to play some of the new cards before you wheel again. A few of the wheels can help shuffle cards back into your library to hopefully not deck and there's Seasons Past as a safety valve which should ideally target 'Tutors' or 'Wheels' (preferably one that shuffles your graveyard) to keep your engine running.

'Tutors' are for finding 'Wincons' (typically Purphoros, God of the Forge but can be used as the game state dictates.

As for 'Wincons', many of the 'Wheels' can put around 21 sneks into play (draw 7 with 3 opponents) so things like Purphoros, God of the Forge should be an insta wins most of the time. Things like Impact Tremors gets you half way there and then swinging with all the tokens will finish off the job (or visa versa with Goblin Bombardment). Cards like Finale of Devastation, Craterhoof Behemoth and Triumph of the Hordes are just good finishers on their own and then there's just having a large number of sneks to beat folks down (which is why I listed Parallel Lives as a wincon - yes it's just a synergy enabler but it's to represent the snek beatdown plan). Also note that Purphoros has a pump ability that can aid in the beat down plan (and remember to swing with Xyris, the Writhing Storm for the added card draw/sneks - this is also improved by Purphoros pump ability! Not to mention use Cryptolith Rite and/or Phyrexian Altar to activate Purphoros enough times to cheese someone out for a commander damage win!).

There's also the combo of The Locust God, Phyrexian Altar (or Cryptolith Rite) and Skullclamp here where you can sac/tap an insect for 1 mana to equip Skullclamp which will draw two cards which will make 2 more insects which you can sac/tap for mana and equip to draw your deck. I don't have a Laboratory Maniac/ Thassa's Oracle/ Jace, Wielder of Mysteries here for a combo finish (and maybe I should) but this can definitely work with Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Niv-Mizzet, Parun and if you count it out right, Windfall your hand for way too many sneks or combine Windfall with Khorvath's Fury Foe option to win. Regardless, if you can set up this combo of cards (even without the lab man combo win), you can pretty much draw until you find your answers and win (or set up for the win).

Just keep in mind that the fewer opponents in the game, the less effective this deck will become (not the best 1v1 deck). You ideally want multiple opponents when creating your board state and try to finish them all at once. I also listed Opposition as a wincon since it's basically a soft lock on the game. if you use Opposition in people's upkeep; with the amount of snek's you will hopefully have, you can keep their lands/creatures tapped while you find your actual wincons (or attack them down with your remaining sneks). Probably not going to be a popular play with most people (although you're playing a wheel deck so probably not winning any popularity contests anyway) so I would suggest swapping Opposition out if your play group reacts negatively. I however feast on the tears of my friends and will sleep soundly after a solid evening of commander!

Any feedback welcome and appreciated.
