Maybeboard

What makes +1/+1 counters better? Make em wet by adding some to the mix. Slam enchantments and have your creatures live the sideways life. Eutropia the Twice-Favored double blesses creatures with evasion and her Wet Ass +1/+1 counters

My play group is considering banning Sol Ring & Cyclonic Rift as a Rule 0. We haven't made it official yet, but I've brewed most recent decks without Sol Ring. I included C-Rift in this because I like it, and I felt the mana curve is low enough without Sol Ring.

  • Arcane Denial A counterspell with stapled on draw is nice

  • Cold-Eyed Selkie Already (somewhat) evasive, and can draw more cards as it scales in size.
  • Decoy Gambit
  • Eidolon of Blossoms Enchantress that also triggers on its own ETB
  • Enchantress's Presence Enchantress 2
  • Fathom Mage A cousin of Cold-Eyed Selkie. Draws as it grows, & can also punch in the mouth.
  • Kenrith's Transformation
  • Ordeal of Thassa Grow a threat, then draw some cards
  • Primal Empathy Potential to draw, or continue to grow a threat on the board
  • Prime Speaker Zegana A late game bomb that can refill the hand & be a swole body
  • Toothy, Imaginary Friend Draw cards & grow Toothy. Opponents are forced to continue getting bitten/smacked by Toothy, or removing it & refilling your hand. Great card.
  • Unbridled Growth Mana fixing & option for drawing.
  • Waterlogged Grove
  • Weirding Wood

  • Cephalid Constable Slap a bunch of counters on it & bounce some threats

  • Chasm Skulker Toothy's Squid cousin. Swing or block to your heart's desire with the Squid, then get a bunch of little dudes when it dies.
  • Cold-Eyed Selkie Swing face and draw cards
  • Fathom Mage
  • Gemrazer Removal & Flying defense? I would like that.
  • Herald of Secret Streams I originally had Champion of Lambholt in this slot, but this was a better blanket effect.
  • Nylea's Colossus Double up power on a threat that will likely be flying, thanks to eutropia
  • Prime Speaker Zegana
  • Setessan Champion Enchantress 3, but she also gets swole
  • Thassa, God of the Sea Can grant spot evasion, and Scry on upkeep is sweet.
  • Toothy, Imaginary Friend Swing away, knowing that Toothy's death will net some sweet sweet draw.
  • Make your creatures magically swole

These Auras were selected because they have built in recursion or some other built in value

I want to see how this deck plays in its current form, but here is some general stuff I'd consider down the road.

Here is a page for my group's meta. Most of their profiles have a few deck links.

Took this deck for its 3rd spin yesterday, and managed to pull off my first win with this deck.

    Quick Summary & Highlights

Kroxa got off to a pretty a quick start, hitting the table for a couple of early Discard triggers on Turns 2 & 4. To avoid any further losses to discard, the rest of the table started putting together whatever board-state was possible.

As a result of Discard losses, Androo primarily had theft effects left in hand, using Agent of Treachery & Hostage Taker to steal creatures & a mana rock from from my board & Deve's, around Turns 6-7. To put it lightly, this activated some almonds and rustled some jimmies.

At this point, Kroxa had not hit the board again, and the table now saw Yarok as the arch-nemesis. From Turn 8 and on, the table started picking apart Androo's board state, and swinging into his face from a gradually opening board. Androo was knocked out around Turn 9-10 by Vanarp using a Flayer of the Hatebound trigger from Kroxa being reanimated.

Around this point in the game, I played Prime Speaker Zegana while having an 8 power Eutropia the Twice-Favored, Reliquary Tower, and Asceticism on board. Over the next couple turns I was able to knock out Vanarp using unblockable & buff-as-shit Prime Speaker & Eutropia.

At this point, Deve was able to blow up my Asceticism, and have one of his creatures fight my commander. In a board rebuild, I used Slippery Bogbonder to place a Hexproof counter & move 10 +1/+1 counters from Zegana to an already growing Chasm Skulker, and swing in for near lethal using an unblockable Chasm Skulker, thanks to Thassa, God of the Sea. A Cyclonic Rift on my next turn forced Deve to rebuild

In a last-ditch Deve swung in with a 10/10 Voracious Hydra, top-decked an Overwhelming Stampede this turn to make it 20/20, and cast an Unleash Fury to make it 40/40, which would have been blocked by Slippery Bogbonder. I had a Miscast ready in hand for Unleash Fury. Deve did not have enough damage to trample through, would take lethal next turn from swole Chasm Skulker and Prime-Speaker Zegana. It was gg from there
