This is my take on a very exciting new commander with a ton of potential!

Kykar is an interesting commander that can be built in a few different and fun ways ranging from token agro, etb damage triggers, stax mana denial/land control, storm combo, or a combination of any of the above!

i have opted to take a more tempo control package that leads into a combo finish.

the deck utilizes a primarily blue spell base to pull out some of the best counterspells available in the format, backed by a handful of white silence effects, together these allow you to progress into mid game where you can start to chain off a storm combo.

the main engine of the deck utilizes wheels and ramp spells to generate large amounts of mana in combination with kykars triggers and to keep cards coming- this is further backed by draw effects such as paradoxical outcome, and ramp/storm cards like hurkyls recall, etc. there are also a few nice draw spells that synergize well with kykars token generation which will be key to getting a large winning hand, and of course our friend narset parter of veils to insure the opponents dont get in on the fun.

between win cons such as aetherflux reservoir and approach of the second sun, there are interesting options the colors have access to- such as mystic forge/senseitop+ cost reducer to draw the deck outright- or final fortune on an isochron scepter backed up with an isochron and angels grace or a sundial of the infinite.

i have opted away from the damage triggers version of this build but have looked at ways to increase token generation for spirits in order to feed my insatiable thirst for mana (blue mana is an issue), i utilize cards such as sakashima, spark double, and anointed procession, as well as things like mana echoes to really get value from the storm count.

the deck has a bit of recursion between wheeling and things like mission briefing or mizzixs mastery to make sure you have access to important utility you may have already exhausted to the graveyard or continue a storm chain.

stocked with a handful of excellent tutors this deck can access what its looking for at most times.

the list of sideboard and maybeboard cards are options i am considering and swapping between while trying to find that meta build im looking to achieve
