NOTES

Stay awhile and listen:

500 VIEWS! Thanks for your support and taking your time here!

Thank you for viewing my list and reading this guide! I will do my best to explain this in-depth guide to losing your friends. Please comment and share your thoughts - I'd appreciate your critique! This is my personal paper deck, so I don't have many of the typical cEDH cards. This is meant to be a platform for me to sort out my card list, but also to offer you a skeletal template in case you are interested in building a similar deck.

Commander Choice

Choosing a different commander can change your deck's power:

Sliver Hivelord is less explosive (with this list) and better for lower power playgroups

Sliver Overlord gives options and has variable power

Sliver Queen gives you the high ground

Utility: Clot Sliver, Dregscape Sliver, Harmonic Sliver, Necrotic Sliver

Sac Outlets: Ashnod's Altar, Basal Sliver, Darkheart Sliver

Protection: Diffusion Sliver, Crystalline Sliver, Hibernation Sliver

Haste Enablers:Blur Sliver, Cloudshredder Sliver, Heart Sliver

The rest of the slivers are fodder to reach critical mass with the Intruder Alarm, and Aggravated Assault with Sliver Overlord route in case Sliver Queen is dead, exiled, or otherwise inaccessible. Note that most of the 2- and 3-drop slivers only have one color, which lets you cast them much cheaper with Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn. Saving 3-6 mana a turn can win you the game very quickly.

Root Sliver - Counter hate.

Quick Sliver - One of the best slivers at your disposal. Allows you to tutor/cast at the end step before your turn, making interaction much more difficult form your opponents.

You'll need a 2 mana investment or a spare sliver on top of the combos to get the train started

-Infinite ETB's:

Sliver Queen + Ashnod's Altar/Basal Sliver

-Infinite Colorless Mana and Sliver Tokens:

Sliver Queen + Mana Echoes (goes infinite on the first activation)

-Infinite Colorless or Black Mana and Sliver Tokens:

Sliver Queen + Ashnod's Altar/Basal Sliver + Biomancer's Familiar/Heartstone/Training Grounds

-Infinite Colored Mana and Sliver Tokens:(Tap sliver for mana of any color, sac, make new sliver, repeat)

Sliver Queen + Ashnod's Altar/Basal Sliver + Blur Sliver/Heart Sliver + Gemhide Sliver/Manaweft Sliver/Cryptolith Rite

-Infinite Damage/Life Gain: (Darkheart only gives life)

Sliver Queen + Ashnod's Altar/Basal Sliver + Lavabelly Sliver/Darkheart Sliver

Once you have infinite mana, you can use Necrotic Sliver to destroy whatever permanents you'd like, and Harmonic Sliver for artifacts/enchantments. Note that the trigger for Harmonic Sliver is not optional.

Hollowhead Sliver lets you pitch your hand to tear through your deck, which is always a good option. Remember that any creature you put in the yard probably won't stay there (Living Death, Dregscape Sliver... etc.). Plus, the infinite mana with Sliver Queen in conjunction with Blur Sliver, Cloudshredder Sliver, or Heart Sliver means infinite 1/1 sliver tokens to rummage as much as you'd like.

If you like cheesing people, Mesmeric Sliver and Telekinetic Sliver can be pseudo-infinite outs as well. Telekinetic Sliver can win with Quest for Renewal as well (it has happened for me).

Defense of the Heart is nut butter. You only need one of the 3 pieces in your combo and this tutors the rest. If you have synergy like Intruder Alarm in play, you can just straight up win.

There are a lot less now that Paradox Engine has been banned... These are common occurences while playing that can help you win your game.

REMEMBER TO TAP SLIVERS FOR MANA BETWEEN EACH Intruder Alarm TRIGGER!!!

T3 WIN (or any other time...) (Lines 1, 2, and 3 use Intruder Alarm as the infinite engine)

For Lines 1 and 2, you can also Eldritch Evolution or Neoform a sliver that you need, but generally, having both Intruder Alarm and Gemhide Sliver/Manaweft Sliver in your starting hand are essential. Add tutors for cEDH.

Line 1:

T2: Cast Gemhide Sliver/Manaweft Sliver

T3: 3 lands, 1 sliver; 4 mana.

-Tap sliver and 2 lands for mana to cast Intruder Alarm, cast a 1-drop sliver, untap.

-Tap Gemhide Sliver/Manaweft Sliver and last land to cast Cloudshredder Sliver/Heart Sliver, untap.

-Now you have 3 untapped slivers and therefore 3 mana of any color. Cast 2 more slivers (tap leftover slivers to float extra mana), and then cast Sliver Overlord, at which point you have 6 slivers and (possibly) mana floating.

-Tutor once only (in case of disruption) and get Crystalline Sliver/Diffusion Sliver, then get Dormant Sliver, and now you cast your whole deck.

Line 2 (happens once in a while):

T1: land, cast a 1-drop sliver

T2: cast Gemhide Sliver/Manaweft Sliver

T3: 3 lands, 2 slivers; 5 mana.

-Tap 2 slivers and a land for mana to cast Intruder Alarm, cast a 1-drop sliver or Cloudshredder Sliver/Heart Sliver, untap.

-Ideally, you will now have 3 untapped slivers and a land. Again, cast 2 more slivers (tap leftover slivers to float extra mana), and then cast Sliver Overlord, at which point you have 6 slivers and (possibly) mana floating.

-Just as before, tutor once only and get Crystalline Sliver/Diffusion Sliver, then get Dormant Sliver, and cast your whole deck.

Line 3 (can be used in Lines 1 and 2, or at any point in the game):

Bootleg Channel: Intruder Alarm + Hibernation Sliver; if you're stuck after untapping and only have 3 slivers to produce mana, for example, playing Hibernation Sliver, bouncing it or a 1-drop back and playing it again lets you generate some extra mana. If you bounce the 1-drop, you produce at least 2 mana for each bounce...

Hope this one gets me an upvote c:

Upvote! Thanks :D

Running very cheap counterspells (Dispel, Swan Song, Unsubstantiate, Memory Lapse, Pact of Negation) with few color restrictions will protect your combo. Disruption often happens on your turn while you're going off, so forcing your opponents to interact at instant speed lets you run cheaper, more niche counterspells. Force of Negation, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat are good includes if your budget allows it.

Since you're the combo deck, you only need enough counters to not lose and to protect your combo; I would recommend no more than 4 counterspells. If your meta is heavier in interactions, maybe up to 7.

Cyclonic Rift is really annoying and really good. I just don't have a second copy.

Most of the cost comes from the land upgrades, Sliver Queen, and pricey but unnecessary enchantments. Using the following land combinations will help get all your colors without sacrificng too much tempo:

Budget: shocks/reveal lands/checklands

Extra Budget: slow fetches/triomes/checklands

Pain lands are always good to pad up the colours you're short on.

For reducing average card costs, look to replace your sorceries and enchantments. For example:

Patriarch's Bidding -> Twilight's Call

Prismatic Omen -> Dryad of the Ilysian Grove

Demonic Tutor -> Grim Tutor

Upgrade suggestions, depending on your meta and how tuned you want your deck to be, include:

Tutors/Card Selection: Enlightened Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Sensei's Divining Top, Finale of Devastation, Scheming Symmetry, Natural Order

Card Draw: Windfall, Ponder, Brainstorm, Preordain, Serum Visions

Ramp: Three Visits, Nature's Lore

Speed up/Wincons: The First Sliver, Staff of Domination, Aluren, Earthcraft, Carpet of Flowers, Bloom Tender, Aether Vial (keep on 2 CMC), Protean Hulk, Phyrexian Altar

Resilience: Sedge Sliver, Teferi's Protection, Heroic Intervention, Frenetic Sliver, Pulmonic Sliver (play this AFTER Dregscape Sliver for the layering effects to take place properly; since both slivers have replacement effects, the game checks the timestamp ie. the most recent change. Playing pulmonic after dregscape means that the exile effect will be overruled. This synergy may be mandatory if your playgroup is extremely heavy in removal and wipes).

Budget Permitting: OG duals, Cavern of Souls, Gaea's Cradle.

I encourage you to proxy the list or any upgrades before buying them!

More to come!
