Sideboard

Other (117)

Unlike the other garbage I copy/paste generate often I want this to actually function properly and be a reasonable deck to consider proxying and bringing to a random gamestore to play.

This is now a second draft.

Idea is to stack damage multiplier(s) in conjunction with Brion + big power creature to 1-shot opponents. Currently inconsistent and can only reach one opponent per turn and stagnant after first shot. Attempting to make up for this issue is a small control package- moons, parity denial, etc. - to allow the deck to keep up with (and or slow down) the other decks.

Looking for consistency, resilience, and redundancy: draw, ramp, recursion, better synergy cards to enhance gameplan to deal 30+ damage on brion activations.

Will consider and take massive revisions where appropriate. No budget concern. Closest to CEDH power level though obviously this is not a cedh viable base. Should be able to match a rafiq/rogark/kaalia voltron/aggro type deck ("power level 4" meaning highest power without being CEDH) and execute quicker than a ur-dragon/gisath/niv midrange/combo deck. Intention to survive, win, and (if necessary) kill 3 other players in a 4p game.

See custom ordering for current thought process / card ids.

Help appreciated.

Wanted level 4 "optimized" (again whatever this means) current iteration expected level 2 (Core) (which is kind of insane for the current price even not including cards >$15) (though website algorithm currently says '4' but doesn't understand how 'winning process' works perhaps?).

Card Choices (current):
lands - 34 - boros cannot afford to draw lands on turns 4, 5, and 6 without losing effective ability to maintain impact with opponents. however, option for 36 unironcally likely better to ensure multiple brion recast capability and curve properly into gamewinner cmc>6

creature power advantage leverage:
malignus, serra avatar, soul of eternity will 1-shot opponents
taureen shaper and phyrexian D are high power for minimal mana investment
kiki and splinter twin copy large power creatures for attack and sacrifice instead of losing source
legion leadership and fatal frenzy are effective damage doublers / fatal frenzy trample is important

three dedicated board control. the deck is inconsistent and cannot reliably execute its gameplan if focusing too much on opponents though I always want more

three 'recur' either recursion or recuring effects, and including kiki jiki and splinter twin to target the large creatures. Mimic Vat and Feldon are particularly decent at recuring recursion.

parity - this deck cannot execute at the same rate necessarily as other decks so playing non-basic land hate, where this deck can have 3 basics available turn 3, makes games a lot easier to win. other cards break parity to ensure game is won.

ramp - focus on repeatable low-cost mana sources / land tutors. Not looking to continue ramping through the middle game. The deck has a lot of emphasis on 4-cost turns, so hitting that amount on turn 3 is more important than reaching 9 mana on turn 5. Oh and of course boros trash at ramp.

damage - chandra ignition and soulblast kill opponents and allow wins w/out brion. grafted exoskeleton on brion is an immediate threat regardless if pod plays 10 or 20 poison counters to win. double/triple damage dealers make sense. 'effective' damage doublers include: stalking vengeance (on brion sacs), and terror of the peaks on etb. screaming nemesis interacts well with mass damage but can't be targeted by brion. i'm liking damage doublers affecting sources that aren't my own, but always be careful with furnace of rath (if you are like me, people don't trust you, and will abuse that lack of trust to unfairly target you). oh and gisela good defense.

utility - card by card (sorry):
aetherflux resevoir - brion has lifelink // alms collector, archivist, esper sentinel, reforge the soul, sensei's divining top, and wheel for some form of draw (please for the love of god if there are better draw sources tell me) // tutors - sunforger specifically increases creature power (maybe) but it also pulls instant interaction, notables: fatal frenzy/legion leadership 'surprise' 1-shot and teferi prot/comeuppance/d swat to not die/lose. sunforger likely too mana intensive here but the effect isn't available elsewhere. the recruiters pull big creatures. gamble ez win. not die cards: ensnaring bridge, gollum's fetish, and the sunforger targets listed above.

Sideboard holds a lot of bad cards that actually-not-bad cards for consideration. Notables (again sorry for long list): Boros Charmfoil[ City on Fire Fiendish Duo Gratuitous Violencefoil Soul's Fire Scalding Tarn Archon of Emeria Aven Mindcensor Grafdigger's Cage Rest in Peace Stranglehold Thalia, Guardian of Thraben Thalia, Heretic Cathar Phyrexian Devourer Treasonous Ogre Adarkar Valkyrie Karmic Guide Luminous Broodmoth Sun Titan Akroma's Vengeance Austere Command Nevinyrral's Disk Vandalblast Winds of Abandon Wrath of God Insurrection Lithoform Engine Sneak Attack Worship
